  1. I've decided to write a haiku for this Intel NUC giveaway. Intel NUCs are great. So fantastic also great, They are really great. Good luck everyone!
  2. The build guides have been incredibly awesome, quality and all. You guys manage to impress me with every video. If there's anything I would like to see more of, it would be the old style unboxings, you have put out 2 recently, but I do miss them. Thanks for all the knowledge I've gained, it's incredible. Congrats guys!
  3. The best thing about dbrand is that they are robots. They are precise and the mahogany skin on my Nexus 5 looks amazing. But I love that orange. Orange is an underrated colour, it's one of my favourite, and that adds on to my favourite thing about the phone. The design is aesthetically pleasing and the duo would make a great +1 to anything I attend.
  4. I tried the flashing one on my HTPC and it was still doing the same thing, even with different cables. Just tested the left one that started having the problem yesterday on my HTPC and on my brother's laptop, still has a blue tint. I think I may have just received a bad batch. It is weird that there isn't anything else about it on the internet though.
  5. Hopefully you don't have any issues with it, although based on how I could find nothing else, I may be the only one. Other than that issue, they're really nice monitors though.
  6. Thanks! Unfortunately not, as I live in Australia and ordering from NewEgg is expensive. I tried to go through the store I bought it from (MSY, notoriously bad for customer service) but they told me because it was outside of the 30 day period, I have to go to Acer myself.
  7. Just a heads up this post may be a little long, TLDR and questions at the end. Keen to venture into the world of IPS monitors, I picked up three Acer H236HL (bid if this matters) monitors. I had seen many good reviews, and for the price, they were quite compelling. Fast forward five months, and I begin to run into issues. This first of which, and by far the worst, is a blue tint over the left third of the screen, that is extremely noticeable, and looks as if it stops half the rows of pixels from showing much colour at all. In the first two images, you will be able to see the blue tint and the pixel row issue. The first time this happened, it only lasted a few hours and only affected my left monitor, and just stopped. I assumed that this was bad, but it did not happen again for over a month, so I dismissed it. Then three months after the first time this happened, it came back, and this time, didn't stop for four consecutive days. At this point, I decided to do something, so I researched the issue as much as I could, I couldn't find anything at all. After hundreds of searches, I called it a night, and went to sleep. When I woke up, I turned my PC back on, and the monitor was back to normal, good as new. I knew this wasn't the end however, and I was dreading it coming back. Before the end of that day, the blue came back, but not on the same monitor, this time, on my right monitor. The left monitor was fine, the middle monitor was also fine. So now I am dealing with two monitors that have this problem, and it's just a time bomb for when one of them goes through this again. This time however, there was more than the blue tint. I noticed I could see the background coloured purple, through windows of applications open. Not all of the background, only the areas with brighter colours. This was present even when the monitor was turned off. I thought this was burned in, but after turning the monitor back on, and trying to find what colours I couldn't see the background through, the monitor pretty much died. Flashing all sorts of colours, purple, blue and even just displaying nothing. My phone was off, and this stopped happening as soon as I had opened up the camera and started recording. I was extremely annoyed I missed it, as this would be the definite proof needed to get it fixed under warranty if I was asked to provide proof. Only half an hour later, it happened again, and this time I managed to record it (the video is linked below). This time however, it did not stop, so I just turned my monitor off, packaged it up and contacted Acer. I had finally given in, I couldn't deal with this issue anymore. It took two weeks to arrange a date for the monitor to be picked up (9 days of me accidently archiving an email.. oops.) I told the person dealing with my case at Acer that I would like to have it picked up on Thursday the 17th of July. They said they had set a date, and someone would come around to pick it up. On Monday, within half an hour before I had to go to work, someone came to pick up the monitor from an unnamed shipping company. I was not prepared as they hadn't sent one of the forms I was told to put with the package until the Friday before and I hadn't yet gotten around to printing it and filling it out. Thankfully, the driver waited ~10 minutes for me rushing around and getting it ready. Thursday came by, and when I am leaving to go to shopping, the same delivery company (different driver) pulls into my driveway, just before I got to the end of it. This confused me as Acer had sent a message saying the issue had been fixed. I assumed they had already sent the monitor back, and then found out that somehow, there had been two bookings to pick up the monitor, on two different days, at two different times. Just last week, I received a package from acer. Immediately I notice something wrong. It's not the same box I sent in (I packaged it in the box it came with when purchased). I assumed the worst, they had sent me a lower grade model, non IPS. After opening it to confirm, they had sent a different model. I send an email, and got a response a day later saying I would be called by the escalations team Monday the 21st of July. Four days go by, no call. I send off an email and get a response apologizing for the inconvenience and they give me an email to contact the escalations department. I sent the email yesterday, hopefully this can be sorted. But the story doesn't end there. Remember the left monitor, that had only gone through the blue tint issue? Well, here I am, 27th July, and the left monitor has the blue tint again. So here I am, sitting on the wrong model monitor, waiting until Monday for a response. Left monitor with it's blue tint issue. TLDR; Left monitor (of three) had weird blue tint, as pictured. Went away after time, and then right monitor had it, went through something weird as seen in the video. Sent monitor to Acer, received the wrong monitor back, didn't get a call. Got an email to contact that could finally help me get this fixed. Left monitor gets the blue tint back. I'm looking at other IPS monitors to get away from this and hopefully never have to deal with it again, and seeing as my LG TV has been amazing, so I have been considering getting two LG 23MP75HM-P monitors, as I now use my LG TV as the my third monitor. Opinions and options on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Images and video: As you can see in this image, on the left is the blue tint. http://i.imgur.com/kNFGw2e.jpg This image shows the horizontal rows that are displaying the wrong colour. It is most noticeable on red. http://i.imgur.com/VVUjJ25.jpg Update 1: So after a little more searching I have found this review on amazon that has the user experiencing the same issue: http://www.amazon.com/review/RHEZ6DMTQRM30/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00AZMLIDQ Since the 27th of July, someone at Acer has managed to organise it to be picked up, and just 3 days ago they did pick it up. They are now organising store credit at the retailer I purchased this monitor from. I am very thankful for this, as it's a better resolution that what originally had been organised. A new problem arrises. The left monitor (let's call this one monitor #1) still has the blue horizontal issue. Now the originally middle monitor (this one can be monitor #2) has exactly the same issue, but red instead of blue, it's 40% darker and more noticeable, and it constantly has waves running down the left side. Acer had informed me that they didn't send me an H236HL because that product is EoL and they did not have any in stock. It appears while these monitors work, they are very nice. But after some time, they have a chance of running into this issue, and the best possible resolution is to send it back to Acer. It's going to come back eventually, and you should take advantage of the warranty while you can. As for the 2 now damaged ones, I will be contacting Acer and accepting whatever monitors they send me, or whatever remedy for this situation. That has been all, Thank you.
  8. This is the best I could find: http://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-M12II-620-BRONZE-SS-620GM2/dp/B003HE260I
  9. I love the design, it's so appealing and visually intriguing.
  10. I am particularly interested in the fact that there are no side buttons, and instead on the back. As well as the headphone jack being at the bottom. I also love the laser distance finder, that would be something very fun to test and muck around with. I also like that the back is removable, and the battery is replaceable.
  11. I really enjoyed the coverage of this phone, great work! My favourite thing about the HTC One (M8) would be the fact that they took an already amazing phone, and managed to make it even better. Oh and the microSD card slot, the gunmetal is actually a really nice grey, also the screen looks really vibrant and very nice.
  12. Try a tech store if you are into that kind of thing, like PCCG. If you can drive, try to become a rep for someone like Arnotts, Cadbury or Coca Cola Amatil. It's usually a good job and I know someone who was a rep for SPC Ardmona (might be hard to get a job there now), and enjoyed it a lot.
  13. The Malwarebytes Removal (Step 3) should work: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/trovi-com-removal/ I've seen it work before, so I would definitely try Malwarebytes first. EDIT: Malwarebytes download link: https://www.malwarebytes.org/
