  1. Looking back at the Ebay listing, the guy didn't mention anything about VRAM... So I got lucky and paid $80 for a working 8GB model! It arrived in a ziploc bag... But it works! Case closed.
  2. The first one is the '8GB' version and the second one is the 4GB.
  3. I purchased a couple of used RX 570's on Ebay for a couple of builds I'm working on for a husband and wife. The first one that I bought was advertised as an 4GB variant and that's what I paid for. To the PC, it appears as a 4GB model, but the stickers on the card say "SAPPHIRE PULSE RADEON RX570 8G DDR5" which doesn't match the more recent RX 570 that I received from another seller. Is it possible that the previous owner or maybe someone else flashed an 8GB card to appear as a 4GB model? I'm going to tear it apart and reapply thermal paste. Is there anything I should be looking for to confirm my theory? I'm very inexperienced with GPU teardowns and components.
  4. I said one upgrade, not an overhaul. I know what you're recommending would be ideal, it's just not what I asked.
  5. From what I remember, he has a Cooler Master HAF for a case. And I'm assuming he's running a stock cooler. As far as PSU, I'm not sure. I won't know until he responds and he's at work.
  6. Hey Everyone, My friend would like to do one big-ish upgrade to his PC. So obviously, I told him to grab a new GPU (maybe an RX480 8GB) because that's one of the simplest upgrades to make. My dilemma right now is that I've only kept up what's new as far as CPU's (and GPU's for that matter) for the last two-ish years, which leaves out a lot of AMD chips. What should he upgrade? I'd love to hear some thoughts. Specs that I'm aware of and are relevant to this: CPU: AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz GPU: R9 270x Also relevant to this conversation, he's having some big issues running Battlefield 1 multiplayer and can't figure out why (single player apparently works fine). (This is only my second time posting to the LTT Forum so don't roast me.) EDIT: PSU: Corsair CSM 750W
  7. I posted something about this just a little bit ago. I guess I should've just looked at other posts.
  8. This case only has a 200mm fan included out of the box. Are you suggesting I just install an exhaust fan and call it good?
  9. This is my first post on here so bear with me. I'm flying from Michigan to California at the end of the month to help my friend build his first computer. Everything is purchased at this point (Parts list here: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/bRWz7h) and the only thing he hasn't purchased is additional case fans. In that parts list, I included a Thermaltake Riing fan, mostly for its aesthetics because we're going for as much orange as possible (I know its a static pressure optimized fan). My concern is temps because the reference RX 480 tends to get a bit toasty. What should we do to maximize airflow in this case? One fan in the back? Replace the 200mm fan in the front with two 140mm fans? Once this gets built, my friend probably wont mess with it too much, so I'd like to get it right the first time. I'd love some input. Thanks!
