Q: If I were to configure my own VPN access ser…

@Bendy_BSD Are you using an SSD or HDD? If SSD then you are screwed I'm afraid. If you have an HDD (where the files were stored) use a program like https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva (Yes I know Piriform isn't the nicest company anymore but the program works) to scan for the files. Avoid writing to the disk where possible until you have recovered your files. Sometimes the files are still there but the filenames have been removed (at least in my case) so you may need to do some searching to recover the original state.

For OpenVPN (and almost certainly all others) you only need your external IP (if the IP is static).

    never forget

Mozilla must have recognised Edge's superiority and replaced Firefox with Edge /s
  5. The actual crap?? Tesla can't even cope with normal demand yet they offer crap like this?? This would be a head-meet-table idea even if they were not under constraints. Early access to safety critical software? No thanks.
  6. Create ISO Market as Windows 10 Stable (add RGB or GAMING tags if sales are poor) ??? Profit
  7. This suggests the guy went through the Users/ folder and likely would have noticed a new user account. No one has mentioned if the free space on disk changed (which would tell us if the files were moved or wiped), if it is indeed OneDrive then deletion is most likely.
  8. Microsoft's current motto: This excludes hardware issues at least. Try use Updates -> Recovery -> Roll back to an earlier release as you know it is 1809 for certain. Just a tip, wait 3 months or so until you are forced to upgrade - you will get software with fewer bugs.
  9. I know the following quote is from Bloomberg but assuming they are not lying about the entire thing then getting it wrong after a year and hundreds of interviews would be beyond reason: Source Ideally the investigators should provide some sort of confirmation that there indeed is the issue or not, at this point if the attackers exist they know they have been found.
  10. If Bloomberg were being misleading they would have a potentially bankrupting lawsuit from Apple, AWS and SuperMicro. No one in Bloomberg would have given this the green light if it were fake (You may not trust Bloomberg but you can trust the idea that they don't want a billion dollar lawsuit in their mail). Just look at SuperMicro's stock, down >50%, if SuperMicro did not have anything related to this I would expect a heavy complain in the next few hours. Edit: Stock now at 2013 levels. (Still mainly low volume)
  11. Their diagram does look a bit off center if it is accessing data between the CPU and RAM (feel free to correct me) so it seems a bit odd to say the least despite the supposed support from officials.
  12. And this is why you avoid connecting computers to networks if possible. Ideally any sort of military device should have physically separate operational and communications networks. If multiple U.S. officials are confiming this I would suspect this actually happened. The CIA does something similar (basically a MiTM attack but with shipments of computers). Source It seems they did find something: Edit: It seems AWS:China found these chips and decided against removing them to instead determine what they were sending/receiving

@Densetsu An RGB Pentium III PC certainly would be novel.
  14. I'll guess that this is not what MYP stands for. If you don't plan to use these ideas perfectly then they could well be possible. Remember for this you would have to create the website, server program and client program. This won't be an easy task (handling encryption, random failures, user accounts etc). Also 75GB/day would fill up very rapidly (most people would be uploading 1TB or so), limiting access to via your program only should prevent abuse (even then people can find ways around it). Focus on the tutoring, small value trades will hardly ever be made via an online platform due to the low reward/work required ratio.
  15. I was referring to this point, it may be now that everything is an "app" there was some confusion but I meant the Android implementation of Java now can meet the performance of C in a number of cases. C crushes Java Negligible difference. Minor difference. I don't see the second "C crushes Java" test result (Not including the 32 bit versions as every phone made since circa 2013 has A53s and above). Only the latest version of Android matters and see above in regards to the 32 bit version. 1) True 2) That is the job of the compiler, to find the fastest way to execute the program. I took the average of the three shown tests but did not account for the lack of garbage collection in the second and third ones.
  16. First they take our calculators, then snipping tools! What next? The Control Panel to be replaced with the abomination they call "The Settings App"? Where do I sign up? /s The small stuff on this update seems quite worthwhile and thought through for once.
  17. ART on Android 6+ can match if not exceed C code in terms of raw performance and can almost certainly handle the vast variety of SoC configurations (Arch, DSP, NPU etc). For graphics maybe other languages still have the advantage but the raw performance gap is almost neglegible now. Maybe 1-2 seconds on a i5 450M which is weaker than the test machine, waiting for the highlighting to complete would be around 12s. The linter made the difference, the article didn't mention one so I tested without but the test repository mentioned one: Yes the total was around 350MB. It seems the editor hardly consumes any more memory if more/larger files are opened. While that may be true and it certainly would be nice to see an improvement I am going to wager that 99.9% of people using VS Code (excluding Raspberry Pi users who don't seem to have a package for Sublime or VS Code) will have more than 1GB of memory if they are actually developing on the machine to run a browser alongside the editor. Not an excuse for the usage but just a consideration.
  18. That's a rather bold statement, there are 3.3 million apps in the Google Play store of which only one needs to be well made to invalidate it. I'm not too sure how your source tested VS Code but I certainly cannot reproduce the ~20 second load time. As you can see below there is hardly a delay when opening the file and the memory usage for the 6MB XML file is around the same as the source obtained from opening a 60b C file. Yes Electron is not perfect, others have proven it can be improved and it would be better if Electron programs could share certain processes such as for the GPU the overhead could be reduced but if it frees up resources as it is easier to ensure cross platform compatibility to work on more important parts of an application it is worth it.
  19. Except latency isn't an issue for Youtube, it can have a 180s+ buffer if need be while this system can never store more than a frame or two in advance (assuming 60fps) or the game will lag heavily behind the user's input, ruining the experience. Games also tend to have a much poorer compression ratio compared to most non-outside videos due to large amounts of sudden movement and small details within the game image which do not compress well.

My application to attend DCD>London got approve…

Find someone else who is going, both (or more) of you record the sessions at the same time and share the recordings afterwards? (Assuming they let you record, their products can't take damage from more publicity so the only concern would be the event hosts wanting people to come rather than to watch a video afterwards.)
  21. I'm quite certain the battery is an important part of the phone, particularly when it heats up and could end up converting your phone into an explosive. Even the Snapdragon S4 (yes, a chip from 2012) can measure the power drawn to the milliwatt level, install Qualcomm's Trepn profiler to see for yourself. The rapid and extreme heating could pose a risk to the solder attaching the SoC to the PCB, this will be more extreme than a normal heat cycle for a desktop or a laptop due to the low mass of the phone so when a hand, which is basically a giant cooled heatsink, touches the phone the temperature will drop rapidly as well as the rapid load changes of a mobile environment.

I wonder if there's such a thing that allow me…

You would need an external power source if you want to run it while the computer is off. Using super accurate estimates I would say 1 PCIe slot is around 2 USB ports wide if you don't need much tolerance to it should be doable.
