  1. I respectfully disagree with your idea that you need to do charity at all. The positive impact on the world is to the people I care about and while I could donate time or money to charity I never thought that it is somehow required or makes me a bad person if I don't.
  2. I do know there are healthy sources of dopamine right? Thinks like exercise or going out with friends. Yeah it is getting harder to avoid quick dopamine hit activities but I wouldn't say that we shouldn't at least try.
  3. To be fair video game addiction is generally bad for both the person and society as a whole especially if that addiction also becomes a gambling addiction as well. I like video games but as someone who used to be addicted to video games I can safely say that you need to be careful to avoid issues especially if you have ADHD. Video games are super wired for ADHD mind in terms of the dopamine reward system and other people can fall prey to it as well so some degree of caution is probably warranted. This is especially the case where video game makers to some extent design their games to be addictive especially if it is a game with micro transactions. Social media companies do the same as well. Anyways I am not a fan of large goverment control but I don't think these changes are bad in terms of their goal.
  4. I don't know. I knew a person who was basically a Sociopath in terms of not understanding empathy. Did some horrible stuff and didn't even know it was wrong. Admitted to everything and was confused as to why he was in trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't a similar situation or some other reason that has little to do with book smarts.
  5. @05032-Mendicant-Bias you have to realize that to be deemed mentally unfit for trial you need to have pretty serious mental health issues. It does say he can get out if he is deemed fit by mental health professionals. I know people who did some pretty harmful stuff due to mental illness and they needed to be hospitalized to ensure they didn't continue to harm people. Anyways I think you are looking at the judgment as a punishment rather than a protective measure and little to do with the crime committed but likely due to medical professionals assessments on his risk to himself and others.
  6. I think the point would be that how can you protect the information of minors if they would be precluded from the site if it was known they are a minor? Also what information would a minor give a porn website that needs to be protected? I mean who gives any porn site their information?
  7. PG27UQ is a gsync Ultimate monitor and I am not even sure if the HDR would even work with an AMD GPU. I own the monitor it does looks nice when you have the right game play with real HDR but it is a bit to bright for me at 1000 nits peak brightness. I can't use it for prolonged durations of time. Honestly I most play on my 1080p 360hz monitor anyways. It is a bit disappointing that most HDR content outside of video games requires heavy DRM that you don't get with a pc so you would have to hook up something with that DRM like a console or I think some rokus might work.
  8. Yeah that is the most unhinged take I have ever seen. The implication that violent video games leads to serial killer behavior is actually insane. There has been a ton of studies on violent video games on developing minds and the evidence that it causes and long term psychology damage is just not supported. Compare that to porn which there are alot of studies that shows if you get exposed to it early it can cause a whole host of psychology issues and even overconsumption in adults can cause issues too. Honestly the only issues with violent video games has on kids is the same as video games in general and not specific to violent video games. Anyways I still stand by what I said. You bring up a specific part of a specific game to try and make a point vs a breast which is probably on the milder side and super generic. How about you compare it to the worst case like you are with video games or just do something that is actually not such and extreme for video games.
  9. Ah yes inflate violent video games to the worst possible scenario vs the most minimized version of nudity. I'm sorry but you clearly don't have a good argument if you need such an example to make even an ok argument. I mean I would even say that yeah parents would probably be way more appalled from just a single breast on the screen vs if they glance at their kid playing GTA and see them shooting civilians. Also from a psychological perspective porn is alot worse than violent video games on the developing mind.
  10. Yeah I think most parents don't care if their kids see or play cod but porn/nudity is way different. I mean even just looking at advertising and if they would advertise on porn related stuff vs video games that are considering "violent" and you get a clear picture that people view it differently. You bet twitch will run into issues when a parent catches their kid watching porn on twitch vs if they catch them watching warzone streamer. Once one of those parents happens to be a higher up in a company that advertises with twitch it will result in them pulling advertising.
  11. The idea that the first idea of what to do when you can induce lucid dreams is working is sorta crazy. I could see it being used for entertainment or working on personal stuff instead of the horrible idea that now we should be working even in our sleep. Also the only times I have been sleeping but aware it was an awful experience. I was trying to wake up from the dream but what would happen is I would dream of getting up and start my day only to realize I was still asleep. The cycle repeated a couple of times.
  12. Hardware unboxed or their side channel monitors unboxed usually have a good roundup of best monitors per category and I think they usually include the best budget option that would likely fit the bill.
  13. I could think of two reasons why you wouldn't support a big market. One would be that by making gpus for gamers they somehow cannibalize their AI market with cheaper gamer oriented cards being able to do AI related stuff for significantly less. The other would be that they don't have the capacity to meet the demand of both markets so they have to prioritize one and if that one has so much demand it could be no longer worth it to serve the other market.
  14. Honestly overclocking hasn't been worth it for awhile now. Generally speaking the different turbo technologies are so good that they often times even beat your conventional overclock due to being able to boost individual cores to high frequency. Why waste hours stress testing and validating an overclock when it still can be slightly unstable and the performance increases is negligible? I would rather have a pc that is 100% stable over a few percentage faster especially because realistically I won't notice the performance difference but I will notice a game crash.
  15. For me their bundles are where you save the most money. Bought a R9 7900x plus Asus strix B650E-F and 64 gb of 6000 mhz memory for 550 which is pretty insane considering how much that would have cost me anywhere else.
  16. I was way more into the multiplayer than the campaign. That said I did like the campaign as well. MW2 was just super good and felt great to play especially the maps. For me the biggest thing I didn't like for MW3 was the map design. It just liked MW2 maps more. Also MW2 was a standout for its time because there wasn't really anything like it prior to its release while MW3 felt like MW2 with worse maps and I didn't like the guns as much.
  17. Honestly it's hard to tell because modern warfare and MW2 were amazing games so in comparison MW3 seemed not all that great. It does get hard when you have to live up to high expectations due to the previous title being super good. I mean MW2 was so good that it's pretty hard to figure out how to make a better game and even if you did the game probably wouldn't be much better so it would still be a bit disappointing.
  18. California doesn't necessarily follow what the EU does but they do tend to be the trend setter for the US when it comes to regulations.
  19. I would look at third party reviews on motherboards. I know multiple reviewers have done an AM5 motherboard roundup that gives good recommendations and compares them. I mean I only have experience with my motherboard so it's not like I would have better information than a reviewer who has hands on with a lot of different motherboards.
  20. I think for the most part people like the 24 inch monitors for fps games because it's easy to see most of the screen at your typical viewing distance. With a 27 inch you tend to have parts of the screen that aren't very clear in your vision and you can miss movement on parts of the screen. At least that was one of the rationals for going 24 inch for fps games and I tend to prefer that size but 27 inches is also good for certain games where distant figures are harder to distinguish on screen so really game dependent imo.
  21. DDR5 won't make a difference until you are putting in a significantly more powerful gpu.
  22. Honestly I think with those gpus you would never reach a cpu bottleneck so the difference between the 5700 and the 13400f is basically not a factor.
  23. Honestly I played a bit of the game and think the level design is weird to me. Feels like so many angles to worry about that I am constantly getting shot from different directions. Also I do think a map pack with some extra guns is an apt description of the game.
  24. Actually I just looked it up and apparently there are some decent priced chairs built for people on the heavier side. You can do a quick search for ergonomic chairs for heavier people and it will probably come up. Honestly I have struggled with the same issue when I was heavier and was a but annoyed I didn't look at the capacity on the first chair I bought until I later realized the issue. Granted I wasn't that heavy when I bought it so maybe I wouldn't have cared.
  25. Gaming chairs aren't meant for long sitting times. I mean even with shorted sitting times a nice mesh chair is usually better but most of those aren't built for 300 lbs unless you are paying a decent amount.
