I've been a massive fan of the music in Mirror's Edge since the first one. With Catalyst, I feel like Solar Fields did an even better job than on the first one.

For such a fast paced game, it's impressive how some of the music fits with the location to make you slow down and look around. The music fits in well with the action, city, exploring and peaceful moments. That's also partly due to the dynamic music thingy in Catalyst.

This bit of music (beginning 2 minutes or so) is the one that stands out most to me. It's only played in one area and really fits with the overall aesthetic and feel of the location.

I'll have to go with all the songs in Fallout 3's Galaxy News Radio. You're right, it's like they were made for the game.

    anyone said atmospheric music?

but in terms of games... i actually REALLY enjoy the soundtrack of minecraft, i still dont understand when it starts or stops playing music, mostly because i dont notice, it just phases in with the game naturally.

trackmania servers also naturally get a spot on my top list, it's usually horrible music but the game vibe makes it good

the soundtrack of the talos principle is just.. godlike (quite literally )

but in terms of best.. its hard to say.. i guess it'd have to be talos principle because that's the only soundtrack i have purchased and put on my phone to listen to

I was looking forward to it since the first one. I have a couple of things I feel could be improved with Catalyst, but overall I think it's excellent. Definitely worth buying it when you can. It's one of the few games I actually pre-ordered because I knew I was going to play it anyway. Ended up completing it in only two sessions because I enjoyed it so much, then spent ages exploring and collecting things.

I have a video running from one side of the city to the other if you wanted to see how big the map is and the variety of locations:

There was an issue with the frame rate on the last bit because ShadowPlay messed up. I might go back and re-record it later to make it better.

Steam is an official retail store whereas G2a is a bunch of resellers. It's like using ebay/craigslist as a baseline compared to Amazon. (A lot of G2A sellers buy keys when they're on sale/in bulk and/or from countries where prices are lower)

Graphics cards have yet to need anymore than PCIe 1.1 x16 (which is 4GB/s). The memory bandwidth is more for the GPU than talking to the rest of the system.

The "10Gbps" spec is 10Gbps per data pin. It's just a roundabout way of saying 10GHz operating data rate

The chips themselves are 32-bits. 8 chips times 32-bits gives you a 256-bit effective memory bus.

FPS-Russia reacted to Glenwing in Will the 1080s GDDR5x bottleneck on pcie 2.0?
Memory speed has nothing to do with the PCI Express bus. Memory communication doesn't go over the PCI Express bus, it goes over the memory bus (the 256-bit thing on the graphics card).

The memory bandwidth isn't 10 Gbit/s, I don't know why people say it that way, even sources like Anandtech, it's totally wrong. The memory transfer speed is 10 GT/s (10 gigatransfers, or 10 billion transfers per second), and each transfer is 256 bits (on a 256 bit memory bus), so at 10 billion 256-bit transfers per second that is 2,560 billion bits per second, or 320 billion bytes per second (320 GB/s). PCI Express 2.0 transfers 500 MB/s per lane, so 8 GB/s with a ×16 configuration. If this were used for the 320 GB/s memory communication, there would be big problems

750 Ti does a very good job without additional power when it comes to 720@60, 768@60, and 1080@30 with games on medium/high, or 1080@60 on low/medium.

I know, I overreact sometimes  I just don't like it when people use ambiguous / confusing units or notation since it results in confusion as demonstrated by this thread... And this is not the first time this exact question has been asked here too. If you want to list memory operating speed, use GT/s or GHz, that's what they're for... Using Gbit/s for that has always struck me as the sort of unit you use because you saw someone else use it, but that's just me. I know it's used in the industry too. Oh well...

Yup, it's pretty much par for the course for some of these games. There should be a performance ENB for it, if you are familiar with ENBs. http://enbdev.com/download_mod_falloutnv.htm

You'll also want to set up a game profile in your GPU settings, and disable things like shader cache, and threaded optimization.

Vista was very good to me whereas Win 7 flat out sucked on most 95/98 games. I doubt they will do that since the kernels will have to be unified making Win 7 into Win 10.

Yeah I think so.  Microsoft didn't want that to happen, and they took certain measures to avoid it, but ultimately through a combination of other actions they took and the ever-present "this is perfect I'm not changing" attitude of most people, it has been doomed to the same fate of XP - a life longer than any OS deserves that only serves to fragment the market.
