  1. I was trying many Linux over the years but gave up due to finding it confusing as hell, last attempt was arch. so I'm running a heavily cut down server 2016 os on my main rig. ill give Ubuntu a go as I did try it man times over the years back in 09 to 2013 but stopped after the amazon additions and all that. will post back.
  2. its not updating I just checked. I also set it to high performance mode but its still capping max cpu. although slightly less delayed
  3. was a 4gb system when she got it but we put in 8gb corsair value ddr3 ram, 1tb 5400rpm drive
  4. i got given my fiancés old student laptop from 1 year or more ago and decided id try to use it to be a dedicated uploading system for when I finish editing content. but I noticed something shitty about it. currently I'm always peaking 100% cpu usage, ive included a screen shot. so I'm wondering do you think this Celeron 1.6ghz system can be saved using Linux so that I can continue to make some form of use of it?

  6. Yea i was looking at the Snow 650W tbh thank you, u have been super informative.
  7. even overclocked? my pump and hdd and fans? if so sweet
  8. Ok so i have a 1050W gold psu from cougar [ left over from a workstation that pulled that much ] and its started to be a problem. ive had to unplug it from the wall and unplug all the connectors to the pc and replug them a few times. i have it set for returning to manufacturer under warranty. ive done a calculator and my own from the wall meter check and im sitting at about 650 to 750W max. i run a gtx 1080 ti [ single card ] and a intel 6700k overclocked. 32gb of ram etc. i have a water loop and ive found the cougar at night is the loudest thing in the room even when i have a render que in action. can you suggest a decent psu ? ive check the tiers and know what "Brands and Model" but not really sure what my best idea on wattage is. i want to stay as close to my max usage as possible
  9. id say the corsair maglev fans if you use bios or a fan hub to get them to the speed to sound ratio you enjoy
  10. It's evolving now a full inch has gone funky
  11. Cougar Panzer Max is a hood case supports 360 front and top. Cones with psu cover and a domed back to support 2x3.5 drives and like 6 ssd. Really good Case TBH before I started to water cool I used it on my fiances PC and she won't give it back haha.

  16. Not being a ass but id rather be as close to room temp as possible considering i don't have AC. and what do you define as Quality? as long as it does not collapse apon itself i don't really have a issue with it. average temps for summer in my town is around 36c
  17. cause if you read the post at the start it said case labs are almost 2x the price, and i got the 480 super cheap the other day so yea. i only had a 360 and 120 at the time. ill rent the basement out to you
  18. scorptec tried to cheap me on a RMA for corsair fans, long story short i won and im not very happy with them. i wish other specialty cases were available locally in aus

  20. yea ive noticed pccg has cut down their case line up and are going for alot of glass cases that tbh will just hotbox your gear.
  21. Im not a big fan of thermal take and their coping of cases but i cant really afford to be picky https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37792/thermaltake-core-x71-tempered-glass-riing-edition seems to have the space for all my rads
