  1. if you mirror between the 2 drives in the main rig then occasionally update the backup to the second rig you should be fine, ideally you want something that can be stored somewhere else (preferably many many miles away from you in case a natural disaster hits and takes out your town, like Tornado, Hurricane, Flood). Google Photos supposedly gives you unlimited storage of photo's (up to 16 Megapixel) and 1080p video. this would ensure as long as you survive you can recover your photos.
  2. I PM'd him a picture, even if the rad was thicker as long as it stayed a 240mm I think the trident z would still clear, I did some rough measurement and it looks like the top edge of the heat spreader still has a good 6-8mm before the fan catches the edge of it. this may depend on the exact motherboard being used though as I don't think memory height from the top of the board is a standard, which is why in the PM I specified every part I used, there is always the option of going to a lower profile fan and gain like a half inch of more clearance at the cost of performance.
  3. the corsair listing says it's missing mounting hardware and you can see in the pictures some of the fins are dented which will reduce airflow in the area, i'd hold off and see where the bid is in the final hour of the auction, I wouldn't pay more then like 60 bucks for the corsair given the condition personally as you'll have like another $20 to corsair for new mounting hardware and shipping on that hardware. ultimately which of the 2 to recommend comes down to where the bid is at the last hour or so of the auction to see if either is worth going after.
  4. given the recent exploitations found in Intel CPU's I would say wait, see what 3000 has to offer and then decide if the unsecure Intel chips are worth the risk..
  5. could be trying to save 40 bucks over a 8600k not seeing the 9600k is cheaper, you never know thats why I asked for clarity so we have a definitive answer.
  6. to be fair he says "my build", that could be my existing PC or the build i'm fixing to order the parts for but I want you all to check it first because I just scored a 1080ti and so the 1060 in my PC PartPicker List is no longer valid.
  7. functionally I would have to note a 9600k is 5 bucks cheaper then the 7600k on Newegg right now, might have to pay more for the MOBO but you'd be better off thanks to more cores for probably not much more on the MOBO cost. I don't have the time to check sizes right now, I'm sure someone else can, but I would expect it to fit. for clarity is this build your existing PC or are you building new from scratch?
  8. what are your concerns with fitment? like the size of the card relative to the case?? also don't cheap out on PSU's get something from the higher Tiers I prefer the A+ tier products.
  9. gotta use Firefox, it's the only browser where i can have 294 (currently) tabs open and actually be able to see enough of the tab to actually ID it and switch to it without closing it trying to click on it, if Chrome implemented Firefox's method of tab management (both in how it displays tabs and how it doesn't try to load every single tabs website until you actually click on that tab) then I might consider Chrome the primary browser instead of the back up for when Firefox doesn't work right. And before everyone comes in YES I know 294 tabs is an insane amount of tabs, I like to keep a lot of tabs at "quick access" and this works better for me then bookmarks.
  10. worse still Unbox Therapy did the same thing comparing this product to the airpods. and did it days before this video even went on Floatplane (probably still not soon enough for them to have written and filmed this and edited it to be fair), does he have an early access option? I don't watch his crap but it's like they straight up cloned his video concept.
  11. not to mention costing a $100 more then the earpods you would EXPECT them to be BETTER, thats like saying Chevy "ReKTed" themselves by releasing a Caddilac Escalade when they had the Tahoe and Yukon. OR Seinhesier for releasing HD550's when they have the 598's having a higher priced option that performs better isn't rekting yourself, rekting yourself is releasing a lower priced option that performs better.
  12. it's more then just Riley, this has happened for every video for the last 2 weeks where I was at the computer when the video was posted, it doesn't appear to be a one time goof and all i'm asking is for an official statement from LMG, why so many people feel the need to attack someone for asking a question is beyond me, so I report and ignore. The fact so many people feel the need to answer a question with a smart ass comment when the question wasn't directed at them is the issue here, you know the forum guidelines: well thats what these folks aren't doing by harassing me over asking a question, their responses are what is getting this thread off topic, in an attempt to get this back on topic I will Ignore and Report anyone who quotes me in this thread that is not an LMG employee and will be making no further posts in this thread.
  13. and i'll keep asking till I get an answer, if you got a problem with that then IGNORE posts from me. It's not my job to conform because all of you trolls can't handle someone asking a question.
  14. do you work for LMG, if not this question is not meant for you, so bugger off.
  15. hell yeah, you paid for something and it arrived damaged, get what you paid for.
  16. do you have the USB cable plugged into the CPU block and the other end of the cable connected to a USB header on the board?
  17. whats it matter to you what it matters to me? the fact is they have ALWAYS done something one way and this last week they seem to have changed it without addressing it. why are you jumping down my throat over me asking a question?
  18. like for real, seriously are we NOT going Live on the forum BEFORE youtube anymore? whats even the point of this section of the forum if we don't get that early access?
  19. you could change to a case with better airflow, your GPU is dumping ALL of its heat INTO the case, if the case doesn't have the airflow to remove it then it starts heating up the case, which also results in the CPU running hotter. If you want to improve temps you need to increase airflow, the side panel removed showed you just how BAD the airflow in your case is.
  20. bro, for real are we not putting the forum threads up BEFORE setting the video public on Youtube anymore?
  21. so are we NOT posting the threads here BEFORE the video goes Public on Youtube anymore?
  22. those aren't 2 separate pros buddy, that second line is a continuation of the first. yeah earbuds aren't as the bees knees at noise isolation, but having something playing at a normal speaking level volume is enough to block out all but the loudest noises, I know it's enough I don't hear the footsteps above me (mid renovation, with no ceilings so all that is there is the framing, subfloor and linoleum of the floor above, without them I hear EVERYTHING above me) and i've NEVER had an issue with them falling out and I can wear them all night in bed.
  23. primary reason for me is my computer has Bluetooth and the headphone jack is on the far left toward the backside and the computer sits to my left at work so I would have to deal with a 3.5mm extension to use headphones with it and add to that I can get 20-30 feet away from the computer with the Bluetooth (so depending on where the computer is sitting I can walk around the whole house) just makes the bluetooth far more viable then being plugged in. Also the Loudness Equalization setting in the Sound Enhancements is an option on the bluetooth but not on the computers speakers, so Netflix requires max volume to hear through the speakers on the laptop, so I use the headphones for everything. if I was doing music playback on my phone with the phone in my pocket then I go wired, beyond that I use the bluetooth for the rare occurrence I am watching a video on my phone, truth is I use it so rarely with my phone that I don't even keep the pairing saved so the phone doesn't try to pull the audio focus when i'm using the laptop.
  24. I use my MX365's connected to a bluetooth receiver with a built in battery pack made by Aukey, whole setup costs under $40 USD (including headphones), if I need the battery to run longer I plug in ANY portable battery bank and use it to charge the Aukey, i'm also free to change out headphones at will without losing the bluetooth, so I can pick whatever wired phones i like.
