  1. i came across this thing called Gatebox yesterday. Anime style 3D Holographic virtual assistant. Im fascinated by the tech, especially how they achieve the holographic feature and the software that powers its interactions. and lately they've been experimenting with using the ChatGPT API too (as seen from their twitter posts), so this is about to get seriously amazing for those without a social life like me lul. I think it would be cool to see an in-depth video on it.
  2. oh wow its working! Thank you so much! A further question though, is the width supposed to be the combined width of both columns?
  3. the source code is the same as the one i linked, i just changed the widths to use absolute values rather than %. I have tried margin:auto on everything i could but it doesnt seem to work.
  4. Hey guys, I have to make a simple website as an assignment, but I have an issue with getting the layout to what I want. I want my site to have 2 columns (navigation on the left, content on the right). I found a css template from https://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp?filename=trycss_layout_cols that does this. However, that setup stretches the page across the whole width of my screen. I've figured out how to set a fixed width for the columns, but now I cant figure out how to centre them on the screen. Can any one help me please?
  5. thanks for replying. yea i think ill go for the V330. windows 10 pro is good to have. Im guessing its also the one that comes with the fingerprint reader and optical drive? not that useful to me i think, but nice to have. im just using it for uni (IT course).
  6. i looked up specs and theyre like 2mm difference in thickness. so like... which do i buy?
  7. i dont even know which one is the ultrabook. they look the same thickness.
  8. so is the 320S the better one? its slightly more expensive
  9. what are the differences? im trying to figure which to buy
  10. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-V330-15-6-HD-Intel-Core-i5-8250U-1TB-HDD-8GB-DVDRW-Windows-10-Pro-Laptop/260963364169?epid=8025845585&hash=item3cc2a0ed49%3Ag%3AVp4AAOSwrwhbtFJ9&_trkparms=%26rpp_cid%3D5c62f8e88a5cfe47dc25ba20 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-Ideapad-320S-Core-i5-8250U-1-6-3-4Ghz-8GB-1TB-15-6-FHD-Laptop/254002074524?hash=item3b23b4139c%3Ag%3AfW4AAOSwezRb~fwj%3Asc%3AAU_StandardDelivery!2176!AU!-1&_trkparms=%26rpp_cid%3D5c62f8e88a5cfe47dc25ba20 These 2 laptops (Lenovo V330 vs Lenovo Ideapad 320S) seem identical in specs to me. what is even the difference??
  11. actually it might be better to buy asap. im not really sure myself. https://www.pcgamesn.com/pc-hardware-gpu-pricing-trade-war
  12. wait so does that mean we should buy our graphics cards now rather than wait for the 1180?
  13. the cheapest i can find an rx vega 64 for is AUS$1000. i can find gtx 1080 for like $800. why is an amd card costing more than an nvidia card? and will the vega prices drop to a more reasonable price soon?
  14. if i did speadsheets and word docs all day i might appreciate that reasoning. but i play games and watch videos and movies a lot. when i see a straight line i want it to look straight. and i want my image to not be distorted in general. thus im not going to buy a curved monitor at this time
  15. no the curve is there regardless of what ur doing
  16. have a read of this. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/221682-the-flawed-math-behind-curved-monitors/ on top of all that, if u just look at an obviously straight line on a curved monitor, that line will looked curved. i will never understand why people would put up with that. all but 2 of those are above 60Hz. and for some reason the pixio is curved but still shows up one is 34UB88 which i already mentioned. the other i havnt seen, its the 34CB88. and im kinda confused now cos the specs seem exactly the same
  17. i did a bunch of searching and the only monitor i found that is 1440p, 21:9, faster than 60Hz and NOT curved is the LG - 34UB88-P http://www.lg.com/us/business/commercial-display/products/desktop-monitors/lg-34UB88-P why is it so hard to find non-curved ultrawide monitors jesus christ. if anyone else knows other monitors that fit these specs please tell me.
  18. thanks for the replies guys. ive picked different parts from your builds and come up with this. i decided to spend a bit more more for the i5, tho it does seem really expensive.. 19. im building a desktop for my dad. he will be mostly web browsing, some word processing and youtubing but no gaming at all. budget of about US$500. id like the build to be lag free, so not completely cheaped out. i found this build and would like some opinions on it, is it good? original website: https://stickystatic.com/tech/cheap-desktop-computer-build $109.67 Intel i3-6100 3.7Ghz $53.99 GIGABYTE LGA1151 Intel H110 Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard GA-H110M-A $68.79 Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM Desktop Memory (HX421C14FBK2/8) $114.29 Samsung 750 EVO - 250GB - 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-750250BW) $19.35 Rosewill Dual Fans MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case FBM-01 $29.99 EVGA 400 N1, 400W, 2 Year Warranty, Power Supply 100-N1-0400-L1 $35.88 TP-Link Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter (TL-WDN4800) total: $431.96
