Avocados recommendations are very good. reliable brand and fast drives. I also like PNY cs900 models for a little lower (but usually a good 50% cheaper when the Samsung are not on sale), as well as crucial bx500, Western Digital Blue units too. Right now id go with Samsung units considering their prices at the moment.

pommedeterror007 got a reaction from Eigenvektor in Do usb 3.0 install windows faster than usb 2.0?
I mean if you think about it the transfer/read speeds will be faster so that portion of the installation would be faster yes. But its only about 5-8 Gb of files. Majority of installation is unpacking and thats more cpu bound etc.

pommedeterror007 reacted to bellabichon in Considerable GPU Space for good airflow?
Most cases I know of only give maximum GPU length, so is that where you got 280 mm? If so, length of the GPU isn't really what matters. So long if there's a good centimeter or two of space between the fans and the PSU shroud/bottom of case you're going to be fine.

It depends on the case model / fans / etc.
Could you please provide the case model (link preferred)
aswell as if you plan on adding fans etc

Cheapest option is second hand off of facebook marketplace or craigslist. Found some great deals on Onkyo subs (100-200 watts) for like 30 bucks. Otherwise are you in the US? If not what are your stores that you can buy from?

Do you relly need a rid carad? Softwre raid is better for most users these days.
just saying, this is probably 50mb/s, or about 6mB/s, any drive config an handle this

That card is fine, but a bit older, but you probably want software raid, and also want the battery for it. Also you can get that card for like 1/3 of the priceon ebay.

pommedeterror007 reacted to WereCatf in Is this a good basic raid card?
Unraid uses software-RAID, so using a hardware-RAID-card would be a waste. You're far better off just using software-RAID: software-RAID is much more flexible, supports more features and is far easier to transfer between systems. You can still buy a hardware-RAID-card, but buy e.g. a LSI 9211-8i or similar and make sure it has been flashed in IT-mode: this way the card doesn't do any hardware-RAID and only acts as an expansion-card so you can connect more drives to your system.

I opted out of that decision, I want a soundbar for space, and simple use. Its just down to a choice of soundbar now.

Have you updated the bios at all? That can make a major impact on device discover/recognition. Plus make sure you read manual as I see there are certain selections you have to change to make sure your M.2 SSD is configured correctly for either NVME or SATA. Which in turn can affect which sata ports work on the board.

Yes and no. The stick isn't 2TB itself, just a poor title.
In the description it mentions it's actually 64x32GB

    Edit:
BUT... This is a real single stick

The Matrox Millenium G200 series is from 1999.  Though it and the 4XX series did continue on for a while in servers like yours.  That said, driver support is discontinued, you're going to be stuck with whatever basic driver is built into Windows.  Really, it's a server, 1024x768 should get the job done for doing configuration on a server.

HOWEVER, Suprermicro ALSO has used the G200eW on some boards and they SEEM to have a Win 2012 driver.

I obviously can't tell if this should work but theoretically, a G200eW is a G200eW, no matter what board it's built into.

Odd issue, id reseat / re install anything that you changed to its original state. From there I would disconnect all storage drives and clear cmos (either using a jumper or removing battery and pressing the power button to clear bios fully. If nothing changes id grab a different powersupply and test with that one as maybe your current psu couldnt handle it. Reply with results.

The one on userbenchmark is only based on the number of cpu's that are tested by people who've ran their benchmarks, its by no means an accurate representation of the actual marketshare.

pommedeterror007 got a reaction from yuh25 in Be Quiet Shadow Rock LP Perfect for ASUS Strix Z270i Gaming ITX Build
So This is just a little discussion post, Ive been planning a Mini ITX Build with a fallout (the game) theme to it, and im testing some parts before finishing it up. I have alot to do haha. Either way, back to the CPU Cooler, I recently bought the Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP Cooler because I needed one and it had gone on sale for 30$ on newegg, Now at the time of ordering I already had ordered the Mobo, Ram and CPU (Im going to transfer my current i7-6700k over when I upgrade later) and I didnt think to check for clearance issues, which was pretty dumb on my part but I got very very lucky. So when I first opened it up to look at it I realized my Ram (Avexir DDR4-2400 16GB (2x8GB Blue LED) was much too tall to fit under the overhang (Shown in image below) but I figured maybe I could rotate it some way, which I did, and it worked absolutely perfectly. I had concerns of the cooler hitting the awkwardly tall VRM heatsink for the motherboard but ended up having a milimeter or two of clearence. I couldnt just not post about it haha its just too perfect. However, I do have some concerns but its not an issue of the CPU Cooler itself, but from the backplate to it, I took a pic below and youll see that it touches two chips (tbh I forgot/dont know what they do). The second being the good amount of flexing from the motherboard under all the pressure, I know its normal but I still cringe when i see it haha. I have yet to test it but Ill come back with an update once I get the powersupply tomorrow. Id love to hear your thoughts or concerns.
