The amount of Computer Science majors who don't even know what a stick of RAM looks like if appalling.

 

And this. Professor asks if anyone knows what happens when you pushed the power button on the PC, and no one knew POST...

    well to be frank, modern computers don't beep as much as they used to, post noises are almost not a thing anymore...

    I'm personally worried that as computers boot faster and faster, there won't be enough time to hit a key for bios or startup options...

    Ask them about the basics of x86 (without the _64 extensions from AMD)

    @TopHatProductions115 Honestly I don't know that, but i hope to learn it. I'm just focusing on the career path first, then supplemental learning later

    @TopHatProductions115These are the same kids that didn't care about understanding registries, and can't add binaries. I'd love to see if they know the differences between 32bit and 64bit.

     

    @Jtalk4456you have to start somewhere. The difference between you and them is you "hope to learn it" while these kids don't care to learn it.

    Exactly. Lack of knowledge is one thing, but ignorance is a whole other problem, one not so easily solved
