Hello, I am interested in mineral cooling my rig because I think it kinda fun and interesting. Is there a good resource or a single blog I can read all about it like how to avoid contamination and the correct way to cool the oil (old car radiator) and what materials to avoid? I also linked a 55-gallon drum of oil below, its cheaper than buying a bunch of 1-gallon jugs. Is that the right type of oil? Everything I know is from what I loosely remember from the Linus & Luke build. https://www.kellerheartt.com/TRUEGARD-Mineral-Spirits-Solvent-105-Flash-Point-p/65.htm?gclid=Cj0KCQjwjdLOBRCkARIsAFj5-GDUS0_WBuGZZU5axDqJnrsVCISDdRqWloNihAaH2f3M1DuclUKbokYaAu0VEALw_wcB&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc_feed&utm_campaign=comparison_shopping_feeds

I'm looking to get windows 10 pro for my pc, it's $200 from the windows store but its only $50 from MS Office Works. They have good reviews but it looks like they may be generated. Does anyone have experience with this? https://msofficeworks.com/product/microsoft-windows-10-professional-64-bit-instant-download?gclid=Cj0KCQjw557NBRC9ARIsAHJvVVN7p4KdHybePE3gtpxMyGhxscoNshw6Xa6U-EQb5jv0sjzUAQC8sWAaAthQEALw_wcB

Interesting, is there some sort of crash log I can see from the game that might tell me why this is happening?
-
Would the game crash solely because it doesn't meet the stated minimum requirements? For example, the game sees the CPU is running at 2.0 GHz, and it stops working. Or if you run the game with hardware that doesn't meet the stated requirements will it still try to run the game and run at very low FPS or crash? For troubleshooting, if you try to run GTA V with a CPU just under the minimum requirements what happens? Does it run with bad FPS or does it crash? Maybe the 2.0 GHZ cpu can't run the game but you think they would turbo some of the cores up to 3.0ghz. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game; I even downloaded it again from Steam which took forever!
-
How do I force the game to see it as a different processor? And the CPU will turbo up to 3.00 ghz. You can overclock by increasing the base clock ( I think) but I don't think it will go to 2.4 ghz!

I got the CPU used for $350, haven't had any issues(other than this) and gives me much more performance than a 6700k for the same price.

I built a new PC mostly for machine learning but I also like to game. I have a Titan Xp 128gb of 3200mhz ram and a 14 core E5 2683 v3. The problem is when I try to run GTA V it crashes saying my CPU doesn't meet the minimum specs. Is there a way to get around this? The CPU has a base clock of only 2.0 Ghz but has 14 cores and hyperthreading so it has enough power to run GTA V.

I am looking to get a 1TB ssd. The Samsung 850 EVO on Amazon.com is $305 USD the Crucial MX300 1TB is only $260 USD. Amazon says Samsung is at 540mbps reads and 520 write while th eMX300 is at 530/510. That is a very small difference but a big cost difference. Is another major difference I am missing?

Find out if bent pin is used on X99 Mobo
JJDynomite posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have an X99 motherboard with a bent pin. How do I find out if this pin is used or not before dropping my CPU in? My motherboard is listed below. ASUS X99-E LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboards - Intel -
I want to build a rig with a single E5 2683 v3 on an enthusiast motherboard ( let's say this one since it supports a bunch of different memory speeds). The Specs for the CPU only support 2133 mhz ram but the motherboard supports DDR4-2133 / 2400 / 2666 / 2800 / 2933 / 3000 / 3200 / 3333 / 3400 / 3466. If I used 3200 mhz DDR4 with this CPU and motherboard would it operate at 3200mhz or 2133mhz and why?
