  1. i know ryzen 2000 isnt officially supported on b550, but i know some work anyway. just scored a really good deal on a b550 gaming plus, anyone have any idea if it will work with my current r7 2700 until i grab a 5800x3d next month or not?
  2. probably wanna spring for the 7800x3d to get the full performance from the 4090
  3. I currently have a R7 2700, 32gb of DDR4 and an RX 5700 XT. Ive got around £600 to spend, and have been debating between going to a R7 7700X, 32gb of DDR5 and a B650 mb, or something like a RX 6900 XT for a GPU upgrade. What will probably be the best return in increased performance? Forgot to add I have a Straight Power 11 850W, just haven't installed it yet
  4. theres not a huge amount of differences. they will usually be slightly slower under sustained loads (5gb+ files), although past that they are mostly the same. ssds with dram are usually only 10 or 20 more so id just grab one with dram, but ultimately its your choice. depending on whether your looking for sata or nvme, the wd sn850x is on a pretty good price right now (80 for 1tb), or for sata ill always recommend the crucial mx500
  5. I have a ViewSonic XG705-2K I use for my PC and PS5. Its only a 1440p monitor, but when connected to my PS5 the OSD says its a 4k output, even now that PS5 has 1440p support. Anyone know how or why?
  6. as you said in another reply you could get a ps5, its something i would recommend considering if you can find one for retail. i have a ps4 slim with a 2tb crucial ssd, and thats not even comparable to my ps5. plus if you wanna continue playing modern games, their lifespan is limited on ps4 plus, plus alot of them dont run that well on ps4 (mw22 shouldnt be on ps4/xb1)
  7. i have a genuine one i use, and have had luck with a few random generic ones, although some havent worked. maybe try searching on amazon and checking reviews?
  8. Im running Windows 10 and I have 32gb of RAM. I usually idle around 9-10gb usage on a clean boot with all my programs open (i keep loads of browser tabs open lol). Over the course of a few hours my usage with the same programs creep up until its around 16-17gb. In task manager it says theres 11.5gb cached and around 10gb "modified" under the memory composition. Windows was only installed a week or two ago. Anyone knows what causes this?
  9. My personal choice would be an M1 MacBook Air, you can get 2020 models quite cheaply now. If you want something else get a Dell Inspiron with a 5th gen Ryzen 5 or 7
  10. I initially wanted to replace the internal drive but you can only get 5400rpm 2.5in HDDs above 1tb. An SSD would be nice but I dont play my PS4 enough to justify it, only looking at these as I have £60 in Amazon credit with someone but I cant add to it
  11. Need an external HDD for my PS4, I found a Sonnics 3tb on Amazon for not much more than a 2tb Toshiba Canvio, but are they any good? Sonnics 3TB External Hard Drive USB 3.0 Compatible with XBOX ONE / PS4 / Windows PC / Mac
  12. Hey, another one of my friends is looking to get a gaming PC. They have a £1000 ($1300) budget. Im tryna decide between 2 pcs: PC 1: Costs £900 + £15 shipping CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 MoBo: ASRock B450M Pro4 32gb Corsair Vengance LPX - I havent asked what speed it is GPU: ASUS RTX 3070 DUAL OC 8GB 128GB SSD & 1TB Seagate HDD PC 2: Costs £1000 + collection only 90 miles away CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X 16GB RAM GPU: Radeon RX 6700 XT 128GB SSD hard drive & 2x 1TB HDD hard drive Comes with a Razer keyboard, Logitech Mouse and a 32” curved monitor 144hz I think the 2nd one is better value because of the included monitor, but I thought id ask yalls opinion
  13. If you have replaced the screen and its still happening, then assuming you didnt get a dud screen then its likely board level damage, and either unrepairable or not worth repairing
  14. Its unlikely it would kill other hardware. Theres a 50/50 chance its dead, your best bet is to clean all the components that got wet with alcohol and just try them in another pc.
  15. Just bought a PC with a R5 1600, 16gb of RAM and a 6gb GTX 1060 on behalf of my friend on eBay for £450 ($611) Full specs: GPU - GTX 1060 6GB RAM - 16gb DDR4 PSU - Corsair RM750X 750W CPU and Mobo bundle - Ryzen 5 1600 and b350m gaming pro motherboard Storage - 1TB HDD and 250GB SSD I think its a pretty good deal as it has room for upgrades in the future when prices hopefully come down, especially with the RM750x. Thoughts?
