big_lilo got a reaction from TVwazhere in Cooler Master MAF Series - H500P
Ohh i got creative with my top mount rad haha. Rads are definitely very thick. I have a slim 360 laying around I'm using for the front. I honestly never realized how roomy the Shinobi XL was Haha. I'll have to take pics soon
For now I'm sticking with the R9's but eventually I'll go team green single card than I will definitely window side mount. I hate not seeing my GPU waterblocks.

I'm with you there man... I lived overseas (Lebanon) and our "domestic" cars there are BMW's and Mercedes Benz... I lived there for college and my dad bought me a 87 316 bmw (same as the white on in the picture but germen spec... so it didn't have big medal bumpers like that) and I fell inlove... it was a rust bucket was a trooper and hugged corners like no other! I've since owned 3 other BMW's and NOTHING compares to my first car... I will one day buy my first car again
This was her after some much needed bodywork and paint

You know it! if people want to call me an 'asshole' for driving a bimmer and make assumption that we ALLLL don't use our blinkers... well you know what, I'm going to act the role than like double jeopardy

Shadowtrooper
A silent optimized air cooled pc with a Star Wars motif.
Intro
This was my second pc build in many years and the first with a custom made part. I decided against a custom loop or AIO solutions for the sake of simplicity and budget constraints. The goal was to create a clean simple build with a subtle Star Wars theme. I recently joined a maker space and thought this would be a fun project to design and make a custom cover for the NH-D14.
Parts
The project centered around the Silverstone FT05. This unique case with its rotated motherboard and a relatively small mid tower footprint allows great airflow, with the NH-D14 being passively cooled by natural case airflow. The other parts followed the same mindset for silent operations with the power supply being the Seasonic 520w fanless and graphics the 980 Strix. In addition all SSD storage ensures speedy silent performance. Finally you can’t have 1440p gaming without a monitor and the Acer XB27OHU was an excellent choice with G-sync.
Ordered the correct LTT NF-A14s fans shortly after this photo
Concept and Design of Heat Sink Cover
The main custom piece was a laser cut acrylic cover to go on top of the NH-D14.
The design is based on the Imperial crest of the Galactic Empire and was initially designed in sketchup. A prototype was 3d printed to test any clearance issues with the final design being made in corel draw. The final piece was made in three layers of acrylic to allow spacing for the heat pipes.
Final piece.
Finished Product
Some custom cables and obsessive cable management brings the whole thing together.
Can’t beat LTT Noctua fans
Acoustics
Wow only a 6dB delta - amazing! Pseudoscience aside, with two fans at low rpms as the only intake, it is inaudible at idle. Under load the 980 is the loudest part with a slight hum above quiet ambient room levels but is hardly noticeable during the day with city noise outside my apartment.
Final Setup
With my Ikea hack standing desk on a tatami mat I finally have my ideal setup. Thanks for reading.

Hey guys,
Bought a Nissan 2005 X-Trail and it came with a cassette and CD deck... It looked soo dated haha I'm used to having a navi in my other car.... So I decided instead of spending $800+ on a GPS Double din.... why not put in a tablet instead! I've seen it done before and LOVED the idea.... So here is my install Very pleased with it
Bone Stock....BORING!!! Finished Product! Looks killer! I have the charged hooked up to the ACC and TASKER installed on the tablet..so when it gets power, the tablet turns on and screen stays on, also have a task to turn on BT, GPS, launch GPS / Music player etc and once the power is cut TASKER puts the tablet in airplane mode and turns off the screen and kills all the apps I installed a JVC deck in there as well to make life a bit easier... Didn't want rewire everything and amp everything... they way I have phone bluetooth, IPOD, CD and the tablet thru AUX or even BT aswell Soo... anyone else use a tablet in their vehicles?? -
