  1. Do we know if it's aluminium or plastic? I guess it's SS based on the kaxani listing
  2. Don't have onboard graphics. What I mean by Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is the stock driver that comes inbuilt in Windows 10. The GPU is plugged in, powered on and the DVI cable is plugged into it. I have an R7 1700, so I don't have any integrated graphics. I have a friend who has a PC, but he only has a 6pin power connector. Is there a way I can use my PSU just for the 8pin power? I don't wanna have to undo all the cable management at the back of my case
  3. I'm leaning towards the GPU because using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and preventing Windows from automatically downloading and installing the Radeon software, I've been using my PC for the last 5 hours with no issues whatsoever. As soon as I install GPU drivers, the system will start to act up and crash as mentioned before. So, right now my PC seems stable without Crimson installed. Only problem is that I can't use f.lux, game, or use any GPU acceleration. I'm going to call my University's IT Services tomorrow morning and see if they've got a computer with 8pin and 6pin PCIe power that I can slot my graphics card into and test for problems. If it works fine, then it's a software issue. If it black screens, then it looks like a case of dying GPU. EDIT: I'm going to boot from my Ubuntu USB and see if it has any issues, but I'd prefer to test it on a Windows system for familiarity's sake.
  4. The problem happened every other week or so. This morning, it happened a lot. PC would crash > the CPU debug LED would show on the motherboard > soft reset makes the GPU debug LED shine and 1 long beep followed by 2 short ones > hold power button and turn pc on again > normal boot. It's just that now, when I do that, the PC will crash as soon as I log in to Windows, whereas before it wouldn't crash so consistently. I will try to find someone with a PC, that's willing to be my guinea pig, but it's a long shot (I'm at Uni). Maybe I'll try IT services Feels like a driver issue, but it happens with old drivers that I know to be stable.
  5. Really irritating issue I'm having: My PC will black screen crash when I log into my account on Windows 10, but only if I've got the AMD drivers installed. If I boot into safe mode and use DDU, I can boot into Windows normally and log in without any problems. The crashes occur shortly after I've entered my password, or if not, then instantly as I open chrome (probably due to the hardware acceleration). I'm unticked all the services on startup apart from the Microsoft ones. Tried installing a previous version of AMD Crimson, but when I open the old launcher, it just updates itself to the newest version. Help!! EDIT: Just tried the 15.12 drivers and the same thing occurred. Starting to think that my GPU is dying/dead?
  6. I'm not worried about performance gains, I just want to be able to resume from sleep without the time being slowed down. There's no option in the BIOS as far as I can see. Definitely not where the manual states it is. Hoping they give us the option in a new BIOS revision.
  7. How can I forward all traffic that enters or exits a specific port (e.g. 35000) to go through my VPN? I've currently got my VPN set up to forward two IP addresses (websites) through my VPN when they are accessed, but I'd like to do it with a port so that all P2P traffic from qBittorrent is automatically routed through my VPN. Thanks!
  8. This just proves how immerse VR can be. Ronnie O'Sullivan (my favourite snooker player) has won 28 ranking titles and has spent his life playing snooker, thus when he puts on the headset, his instincts tell him to put his bridge hand on the table and shift your weight forwards for the proper stance. Clearly he forgot he was in VR and tried to lean on air, which didn't end well
  9. I feel like it's more Corsair's fault tbh. Apparently the early batches of Silverstone PSUs had a plastic connector that was 0.2mm or something out of spec so it caused problems like this. Hopefully it won't happen again
  10. The connector female end (the PSU end) has been damaged and since my PSU is in warranty, I've RMAd it. Replacement should be arriving tomorrow.
  11. Projectors have come a long way. This is the future; where you can display your PC on a wall without someone walking in front of it creating a shadow or tripping over wires .
  12. What could the mining program do to cause the PSU to overload?
