  4. So my sister has had a macbook (sadly) for a while now, apparently she was bringing it into the bathroom to listen to music while she showered. She took it to a shop and they said the motherboard was corroding (I didnt see any signs but he probably knows more than I do). She wants me to extract the files from her hard drive so she can have her pictures and other stuff, I got the HDD out and plugged it into my computer via a hot swap dock, turned the computer on and couldn't find it in the file explorer. went to disk manager and I can see it but I cant do anything with it, it is already partitioned, wont let me assign a pathway, I just want to extract the files and helpful links on file extraction or any advice here would be appreciated.
  5. Least to max settings there is no different in the RPM
  6. okay so i think you had the right idea, but it was the fans LED's that were shorting, cause now they all work so long as I dont have the LED's plugged in.... but they are also non responsive to my fan controller.... so a lot of weird things at play here.
  7. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835345039&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= I am using two of these that isn't stock in the thermaltake MKI chaser
  8. Well theres a rear exhaust fan that came with the tower and 2 more...
  9. So heres whats happening, the computer with no extra fans plugged in works just fine, (with the exception of the fans connected to the front pannel display, cant unplug those). However with the case fans connected to the motherboard, it wont turn on, with the fans connected to a fan controller connected directly to the PSU the computer wont turn on. The PC according to pcpartpicker.com says its using around 394 Watts, of the 750 watt PSU that I have so I doubting its the power supply. Any thoughts or suggestions?
  10. Okay, so here's whats going on, I got my new computer all set up and everything, I plug everything in and turn it on, everything seems to be running fine but then I noticed an odd smell, couldn't really tell if it was a chemically or burning plastic smell but i panicked and turned it off, didn't get to see if it posted or not... everything I am reading online is saying its just the new chemical smell but just curious what everyone here thinks? Might be able to tell you if it posts or not tomorrow but to worried to start it up without being on the phone with MSI (motherboard manufacturer). MSI z97 krait edition MB Intel I5 4590 processor Kingston Hyper fury 16(2x8) memory asus ROG strix 1070 GPU Corsair RM750X other non factor parts...

  12. it was a 2 pin LED, is my mother board fried?
  13. hey so today I built my first computer, I had some trouble the computer would post, but when I put in the last led of the last fan, it wouldn't post. So i tried to move it to different pins, thought oh the USB pin shouldn't be the end of the world. sparks flew... think my mother board is fried or can it be saved?
