Could sell your BTC via an exchange. Higher cost but more secure.

It can be risky to leave your coin stored on an exchange. As Andreas Antonopoulos says (I'll be misquoting but the effect is correct) if you don't hold the private keys, then it's not your bitcoin. I'd recommend you get it onto your own secure device. If the exchange/online wallet gets hacked (it's like a giant honey pot for a hacker) you'd loose it.

I'm only a noob but I hope it helps.

It is not different in that respect from any other currency. See my detailed post above.

A US Dollar bill has no intrinstic value either. The Federal Reserve does not have an amount of gold of the same value in reserve backing up each bill like they used to. They literally just print money as it suits them. Print too much, and your currencies' value inflates however.

Money only has value because people say it has value. Same thing with cryptocurrencies.

    Hey Guys,

So I was considering proposing to my girlfriend and I did a bit of a google search for engagement rings.

Now, whenever I go to show my girlfriend any youtube video I get targeted advertising about engagement rings. She definitely saw it but didn't say anything. She's not dumb, I'm sure she knows why it would show up.

I don't normally care about targeted advertising because I never buy any of their stuff but is there any way of stopping these ring adds from coming up?

    Thanks
