  1. so i just re-tested it, and I got exclusively mid-high 90s for 35 but on 100 I got fluctuations between high 80s and mid-high 90s.
  2. It seems that having my CPU fan speed at 100% makes at most a 3C-5C difference than having it at 35%. Is this normal? I thought I should expect at least a 10C difference for the CPU fan speed being near off and at max I'm running on following: i5 3570k @ 4.3 GHz on 1.35V (I know this is insanely high for this processor but it occasionally crashes without this much) Hyper 212 Evo with 1 push fan 2 negative airflow fans 2 positive airflow fans On Prime95 on Small FFTs I get in the high 80s and low 90s (yeah this is awful but I never actually see these temps in anything I do) On idle it hovers in the 40s
  3. I essentially want headphones/earbuds that are noise canceling and wireless for less than $60. I've found these: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Cancelling-Headphones-Electroplating-Comfortable/dp/B07CYZWS53/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541535264&sr=8-4&keywords=mpow%2Bh5&th=1 I want to know if there are either 1.) any better headphones like these or 2.) if there are any earbuds that do the same thing within the price range that have the ability to connect by an optional wire to audio jack like these.
  4. I want to have code that takes in information from the user and has the ability to store the data in a Google Sheet.
  5. in case you haven't already bought it, I would go with an unlocked i5 so that you can overclock down the road if you need a faster processor without buying a whole other cpu. to the topic at hand, I would go with a 1070, it seems it would fit well with an i5. if you want the 1080 would also be good, the CPU might bottleneck it in some areas but not so badly. since youre getting 144hz, you would very much benefit from higher framerate. you can watch Linus' latest video on bottlenecking and make a decision as well. You can also wait until NVIDIAs new card lineup, Volta as Pascal is already a couple years old.
  6. I mean, Im obviously not using a mouse, and both in windows precision settings and synaptic settings (I modded my trackpad to have windows precision drivers) I cant find that setting.
  7. I cant use my trackpad while the keyboard is active, this is literally unusable for gaming as I cant track while moving my character. I tried to disable the feature that prevents accidental trackpad touches but it barely works.
  8. First picture is the fan header that goes into a 3 or 4 pin header wherever the manufacturer put it. This is done two main ways, one is through a 3/4 pin header on the motherboard or by installing a molex (that is the 2nd pic) adapter to the 3/4 pin which then connects to the fan. the molex is usually powered by the power supply directly. the 3rd picture is the motherboard power connector.
  9. Essentially just look for any place that would use a mass number of computers or tech hardware. You could probably just call the place (or go there if willing) and just ask them if they have any excess stuff. My school literally just has useless monitors and computers just lying around
  10. if youre willing to go into the used market you could buy a used Razer Blade Stealth which sounds perfect for you You could also go for an older Dell XPS
  11. Id also look to see if any schools or businesses nearby have recently (or not recently) replaced hardware that they just have in inventory as junk that theyd give away
  12. In the end it only really matters the best processor you can get for the best deal you can find. dont exactly worry about brand. Currently coffee lake should be a little better but I wouldnt worry about it so much. as long as it doesnt bottleneck your GPU it should be fine
  13. Huawei Matebook X Pro would be really nice https://consumer.huawei.com/us/tablets/matebook-x-pro/
