  1. Summary On Sunday 15th March 2024, The currently appointed Indian Government sent out a Whatsapp campaign to millions of people - primary targeting Indians living in India and UAE (and some other parts of the world) but ended up spamming multiple different nationalities, even people with no ties to India, specially Pakistanis. The article mentions that the message and attachment are apparently propaganda, distributed ahead of elections. Quotes Some people are claiming that the Indian government has bought inaccurate data of Indians living abroad - and how dangerous it is that the Indian government has contact information about people that seemingly have no connection to the country. My thoughts Definitely interesting, strange and a little scary how civilian information is sold to governments - but very funny how there was seemingly no data validation done before such a big campaign went out. 2. Hi Guys, I'm in the market for getting a laptop - mostly for work (Visual Studio, VSCode, Docker) and some slight gaming (GW2, Destiny, Skyrim) I am looking at windows machines, but anything that has an i7/Ryzen 7 and 16gigs does not have a good discrete GPU. The best thing I could find was a 1650 which I don't think would cut it for gaming on the above titles unless I run them on low. At some point I gave up on the gaming side and just started looking at macbooks because they are a dream for development. What do you guys think? If it matters, I live in the middle east, so my avenues are https://amazon.ae and https://noon.com and https://www.newegg.com/global/ae-en/ mostly, and maybe https://uae.microless.com/ (but this is more expensive than the other three)
  3. There is not other one, only 1 for nvme, the other one I can see the pins for it but its not soldered on
  4. That's the thing! - The motherboard only has 1 m.2 slot !! The other one is not there
  5. Hi There! I recently built a pc - and thought it would be a great idea to move to an M.2 drive. unfortunately I bought this WD 1TB m.2 Sata drive which is not being recognized by my motherboard ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 A/C Can anybody help me still utilize this drive? I don't want to send it back as I'll lose 1/3rd of its value in the refund to restocking fee and shipping to Newegg. Can I remove the WiFi card and use the drive in that slot? The wifi is M.2 card Can I utilize it in the Hyper M.2 slot as a secondary drive? My last resort would be to get a sata enclosure but I don't want to go that route unless its absolutely necessary.
  6. How does this look? Should I bother with a 35-50 USD upgrade to 3800X ? From what I've seen you can get to 3800X level performance with a 3700X easy. or am I off base here?
  7. Fair Enough - Which RAM is good with 3700X ? I know Ryzen seems to favor high frequency but are there any brands that I need to be biased towards because of Ryzen?
  8. The UAE - Primarily Dubai. to give you a better understanding, My budget is around 2500 AED (680ish USD) Cheapest RAM: https://www.amazon.ae/HyperX-DIMM-Black-HX426C16FB-16/dp/B07WJJJ27P/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=3600MHx%2BDDR4&qid=1587238021&s=computers&sr=1-1-fkmr0&th=1 Cheapest Ryzen: https://www.amazon.ae/gp/product/B07SXMZLPK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2U4ZT4WPUV6QU&psc=1 the options I have is either Amazon, or Newegg (But the shipping will kill me)
  9. So X470 and X570s should all come pre-flashed? I just don't want to risk and get stuck with an unflashed bios
  10. Its just where I live - RAM is super expensive which is why I haven't upgraded it in a long time
  11. Lmao, I know I kinda saw that coming when I wrote the frequency The RAM is like 200-250 USD and it'll push me over the budget
  12. I basically have a budget of 500 - 700 USD to build the upgrade - right now with how the prices are I'm not sure where to spend the majority of it. The 3700X is around 350-375 USD where I live. Will I need to flash a bios with B450s? Also do you have any recommendation which brand has the best overclocking in AMD?
  13. Hi Guys! I'll get straight to it - I currently have an i5 7400 paired with a GTX 1080 (I know.. bottlenecks) and a spare GTX 970. Now to get anything decent out of the 1080, I need to upgrade my processor and there are literally no 7700s available in my area. So my next step is to change platforms. Since I'm on a limited budget something like 700 USD. I decided to go for AMD, but this is my first time with AMD so I have no idea what's going to happen. Right now I'm thinking about Ryzen 7 3700X, since everybody has told me 3800X is not that much of an improvement. For the GFX card, I'll stick to my 1080 and 16GB HyperX Fury DDR4 1066MHz. Now my question is, which Motherboard is the best for the 3700X, I don't want to go over the top but I need something decent that will give me good overclocking. At the same time I have no idea if I should go for b450, X470 or X570 - I don't even know if I will need to flash a bios (for which I will need an older CPU which I don't want to do). What do you guys think? TLDR; Current System: i5 7400 Gigabyte H110M Motherboard GTX 1080 HyperX Fury 1066 MHz Potential Upgrade: AMD 3700X ?? Motherboard GTX 1080 HyperX Fury 1066 MHz (maybe I should change this?)
  14. Hey guys, I recently got an updated work build, with two whopping quadros m5000 (im currently on a GTX750). I mostly just do application development so the new firepower is great for productivity, My problem is that both the Quadros are installed together but aren't coming with an SLI bridge, so what's the best way to utilize both of them? Should I just shell out some money for an SLI bridge and treat them as one, or have them separate like they are and try to utilize them individually? For graphic designing etc I can imagine having a card for rendering files and other for display, but for application development I'm not sure that splitting them would be that useful. What do you guys think?
  15. Exactly! Such tactics should be discouraged but its annoying to see a lot of people defending this practice because "They have nothing to hide" on reddit.
