  1. Hey. Hope you can help. Powered up my pc today and noticed a vertical line going top to bottom on my screen. I can only describe it as a visual artifact. It flickers constantly. Only really noticeable on darker backgrounds. RTX 3090 connected to an LG C9 OLED via a HDMI 2.1 cable. I've updated the drivers in geforce experience. I've tried a different cable, and I've tried different hdmi port on the TV. The TV doesn't show the issue on anything other than the pc. There's only one hdmi port on the card so I tried a Display port to HDMI adapter and the issue has gone, but now it can only do 1080p 60hz. My guess is that the low res and refresh is a limitation of the adapter more than anything else, but it still allows HDR. What do you think? Broken hdmi port on the graphics card? Could I get a better display port to HDMI adapter to get 4k 120 VRR again?
  2. Haven't logged in in a long time.... However I RMA'd the card and it was replaced no questions asked. EVGA earned my GPU custom for a lifetime....but we all know how that's going
  3. Hey. I have a 5600x paired with a 3090 The question is, would I see an appreciable difference in games if I upgraded to the 5800X3D? The PC is permanently hooked up to a 4K 120hz OLED in my living room. I play a lot of single player games, including a lot of RPGs. I can't say I've been upset with performance so far, but was wondering if I was leaving and frames on the table, or whether gaming at 4K means that the 5600x won't be a bottleneck yet.
  4. AM replied just now. They did sell them anymore Thanks for the suggestion Nimrodor. I hadn't seen those ones. Once I add the options I want they would be $9 each, and only have one LED instead of the two that the EK ones have. Have t checked postage to the UK yet either. It's a shame that EK switched to molex. It's a step backwards in my eyes!
  5. Just emailed them - will have to see what they say!
  6. Sadly I don't have the skills or equipment to do that.
  7. Hi guys, I got one of these in a pre boxed open loop watercooling loop kit from EK. It died when my PC was hit by a power surge, so now I want to replace it with another one. It is essentially two white LEDs that are powered by a fan header. It is inserted into the side of the plexi CPU block from EK. The only ones I can find online now are powered by a dreaded molex connector.
  8. I never thought I'd say this but thanks "Mr. Cunt" haha
  9. Yeah that could be it, it's on the backside of the card and is lined up with the vram module.
  10. Ok, some differing opinions here. Does anyone know what the bit that is missing does? I don't want to try to RMA it if I can safely run the card. If it ends up being noisy it's my own stupid fault
  11. Hi guys, I was just removing some screws from the back of my 1080ti to fit an EK water block. Somehow, I managed to knock something off it. (See image). I immediately started sweating, swearing, and headed straight to plug the card back into my computer. The card puts out a signal and I fired up a game and that works fine too. HOWEVER, I now get a whining noise from the card. Sort of an electrical, high pitched whine noise that changes frequency. The noise is audible when im gaming only. I wouldnt be able to compare it to coil whine because I've never had a card that suffered from it before. The card didn't do this yesterday which is when I bought and tested it. Now I'm worried that I've done enough damage to mean that the card is unsafe to use. Does anyone know what part I have knocked off and what it does? This is an EVGA 1080ti Founders Edition card Cheers Mike
  12. Hmm, deciding whether to get the back plate or not. £27 is a lot for what it is. Do you think that the FE backplate will still fit after the water block has been fitted? I was still using the original backplate on my watercooled msi gaming 6G 980ti because I liked how it looked (before it smoked last weekend). Can't say that the 1080ti FE backplate thrills me...
  13. I've just ordered an EVGA FE 1080ti - can't wait until i arrives tomorrow! EK now have this block available for it: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc-1080-gtx-ti-nickel which I'll order - unless anyone can suggest a better alternative? For example, I can get the Titan XP block for cheaper, and I'm pretty sure that I've seen someone with one of these installed on a Ti
  14. Thanks for the advice. I was looking at EVGA for the FE card already. I heard that they have a good warranty and customer care when it came to watercooling. I think someone said that Msi also have decent warranty, but I've had two Msi 980ti cards die in the last 12 months so I'll be skipping them for a while
