  1. Hi, so I recently got a GTX 770 and I just noticed something, on the website I purchased it from and MSI's website (I have the Lightning Edition) it states that the memory clock should be 7010MHz, but when I go in to GPU-Z it says that the memory clock is only 1758MHz, but on MSI Afterburner it is at 3515MHz, but both of these are still lower than stated what it should be. Has it just clocked itself down like it does with the GPU Clock when I don't run any games (I'm not running anything just now) and which one of these clock speeds is right? Just confused why it is so much lower than stated. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
  2. Let's just say, I can see it glowing in my case. I love it.
  3. Thanks for the codes man! Worked like a charm
  4. Either you're brother has horrible air flow in his case or it is a manufacturer problem, if your brother has adequate airflow (check the CPU temps as well to check this and also look inside his case for dust and anything blocking the fans) then either RMA it to MSI or return it to the shop where you got it from and have it replaced.
  5. Honestly, I would find a long YouTube video or a web post on a gaming dedicated site really putting the two in to detailed comparison. Guys, the question was about the two consoles, not a PC, even although I'm pretty sure almost everyone on this site would recommend him upgrading his PC if he doesn't want to do that and prefers the console gaming experience, then let be it and actually help him out. I haven't really looked in to the two in very much detail so I can't give you a super detailed list off the top of my head, but I found this which I skimmed through and it seems to be pretty good and informative: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWwzNwEFM2M And here's something else from IGN (even although they may not be the most un-biased site in the world, this seems pretty good): http://uk.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4_vs._Xbox_One_vs._Wii_U_Comparison_Chart Also, I understand where you're coming from with the whole console thing, ever since I switched to PC (which wasn't long ago) I have only about 3 friends who are on PC, whereas the rest are on console, so for me the console online experience is much more enjoyable (if you mute all the screaming 8 year olds, that is) and console tends to get more love and support from developers due to it being the more mainstream way people play games. So, look at those two links and hopefully they'll help you come to a verdict. Good luck!
  6. Well at least we have the problem identified now I'll look in to it, thanks for all your help
  7. Just tried a couple of games and all 6 cores are running at roughly around 70/80% and a few times will spike to 90/100%. Whereas my GPU will never go above 49/50%. So definitely a CPU bottleneck then?
  8. I will do and get back to you later, it's 4am here and tiredness is catching up Yeh, you can blame a pre-built HP for that. I learned my lesson since.
  9. So I'm running a GTX 770 and a AMD Phenom II x6 1035T (6 cores, 2.6GHz) and I'm just wondering if my CPU is holding my card back? I ask because my friend has a GTX 770 Gaming Ed. and I have a Lightning Ed. so theoretically I should be receiving a higher FPS, but he is also running an Intel i5 3330 and he seems to be getting higher framerates than me and he is also at a higher resolution, so what gives?
  10. I'm using a 770 but I'm assuming, based on what others have said, it's really not gonna make a difference
  11. Just wondering if there is any real performance gain in games when using a PCIE-E 3.0 slot over 2.0, would it depend on the card and the amount of VRAM etc? I'm currently using 2.0 on some crappy motherboard, would it make a difference if I upgraded to 3.0 (this is all assuming the card supports PCI-E 3.0)
  12. In a city its pretty much at 50FPS now, sometimes 60 FPS if nothing is really happening, just got in to a group fight thing with some guards and it went down to 40's, sometimes 35. This is still with all lowest settings, they aren't great framerates but they are at least better and also my GPU usage pretty much never goes above 48%, do you think that's my CPU bottlenecking it or is the card just being awkward and not going to its full potential? I would also like to point out that my mobo only has a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot, no PCI-E 3.0, do you think that could also be affecting it? Thanks for all your help anyway
  13. AMD Phenom II X6 1035T (6 core)
  14. Every Ubisoft game I own for PC runs like absolute crap. I think they just hate us all.
  15. MSI Afterburner > Setings > Monitoring > Then highlight the things you want shown on screen from the big list and click "Show in On-Screen-Display" > Click "OK" > Then when you run a game it will show at the top
  16. When I was building my dads PC I had everything setup and ready to go but it wouldn't turn, as in the fans would go on for a second then turn off. I was on the internet for half an hour trying to find a solution, then I looked up and saw an empty 8 pin CPU connector...
  17. Ok, everything at stock and just ran Valley, got a score of 1699. Also what'd ya know, GPU Boost must of actually worked because while that was running the card boosted itself up to 1280MHz. So do you think I just OC'd it too far?
  18. Ok so I just ran AC4 again and the new beta drivers seemed to have helped a tiny (only a couple of FPS) bit, but I checked afterburner while running the game and it is only going to a maximum of 1150MHz (which is the cards default clock) and I have OC'd it so that it should run at 1450Mhz but afterburner is only stating the maximum is 1150MHz even after I OC'd it and clicked apply, on GPU-Z it sometimes shows that the cards clock speed is 1450MHz but I just checked it there and it is back down to 1150MHz. So any suggestions on how to actually make my overclock work? This is getting ridiculous.
  19. Are you using beta drivers?
  20. Restarted and went in to GeForce Experience, apparently it installed ok...
  21. 20 minutes. It's been black for 20 minutes, should I just turn it off and restart it or?
  22. What settings are you running at and what is your rough FPS? And it must be, because even a 770 should definitely be able to handle it no bother at high.
  23. Will do after I install the beta drivers to see if that helps, the screen has been black for a good 3 minutes during this driver install, I hope this isn't another problem
  24. I have the latest available stable drivers, but I'll try downloading the beta ones and get back to you
