  1. Sadly I haven't found a Shiit dealer in Canada... what interested me with the topping stack, is the decent review, look cool, and remote to adjust volume and switch between sources which I'll try to set-up my music through Usb, and laptop through Bluetooth. for the reason to spend so much on headphone, I would say: 1/ my parents have Focal speaker and I love those 2/ I spend 8h a day at least with headphone on my head working from home I don't want to buy multiple pair of decent headphone and switch, test, etc... I prefer to pay to have something really good, that gonna last for years. 3/ I tried in a shop Focal Celestee and Clear, and I loved them And for CTR640, no, I'm not looking at headphone for teams call only. I want a good pair to listen to music, but don't want to constantly switch headphones... that's the reason.
  2. Thanks, I'll definitely look in topping Amp and Dac, and thanks for Apos information! but it seems the Dx7 is discountinued what do you think of a30 pro / d30 pro stack? I'm leaning toward this.
  3. Hi, I'm looking for advise to build a great sounding set-up, for music and teams calls. I'm coming from a Bose Noise Canceling 700, that switch between work laptop and my iPhone. I work great but the sound quality is not there. I use Apple Music as a streeming service wich now has lossless audio. I'm looking to buy Focal Celestee, or Focal Clear MG, and I have a budget left of around 500-1000 CAD, for DAC, Amp, etc... I need to connect it to a laptop (for teams call) and to my iPhone (or iPad) for lossless streaming between the call (so not having to switch manually between sources 20 times a day will be very usefull) Do you have any recommandation for Amp, Dac to drive the headphone (Clear MG seems harder to drive that Celestee) opinion between the 2 headset, as well as idea for the auto switch between sources of play all sources at the same time (and i'll pause the music once on call) thanks for the help / advice
  4. I'm ok to go wire. Currently bluetooth is connected to 2 source at the same time, so it switch fast enough, but I have the other problems listed above.
  5. Hi, I don't know much in this category, so I come for lot's of advises. What I'm trying to do is to have headphone and microphone, that I'll be able to use with 3 differents devices: - my iPhone (for lossless Audio) - my professional PC (for video call) - my personal computer (for videogame) so I will need to switch quickly from listening to a song from my iPhone to a team meeting for work. It needs to be plug and play for my professional PC as I can't install anything on it. I'm currently rocking Bose NC700 but I have 3 complaints: 1/ some bluetooth issues with my professional PC 2/ mic ok, but i'd like to improve the quality for more professional teams meeting (and need something that don't pick up too much ambiant noise, with kids, keyboard clics, ...) 3/ sound is quite underwhelming... so I don't really know in terms of dac, amp, mic, etc... I don't have a budget in my head for this, I'm not particularly on a tight budget, but definitely don't want to overspend on this. Any advise are welcome. and sorry for any English mistakes, i'm a native French speaker. :-)
  6. Thanks both for you reply. Misanthrope, do you have a fan controller you would recommand ?
  7. Hi, I'm planning a build with Razer Case, and hesitate between the H440, and S340. I initially was aiming at the H440, but seeing the price difference, will probably settle for S340? One concern is the noise level, I read the H440 is quite a silence case. What do you think? Thanks for your help
  8. Thanks for the advise. So I should get GTX1070 right know. I will probably go down on the PSU to have 650W to save few bucks and go with the Case NZXT S340 to save some money as well. Is there a risk with this case to be Noisy? The H440 as foam damping to reduce noise, or should I try to buy some to put on the S340? I'll see as well for Gigabyte Motherboard, but I saw this one doesn't support SLI, so it might be more difficult on the long term if I want to upgrade later down the road.
  9. Hello, I'm preparing to build my first for gaming and have a question regarding GPU. Short terms, I'll only play a 1080p 100Hz. In 1 to 3 years, I will upgrade for Ultrawide 1440p Gaming. (And will want High to Ultra settings) 1/ Is 1070 enough for Ultrawide 1440p High setting 60fps ? 2/ what is my best option, and money use ? 2.1/ buy RX480 now, and a second one for Crossefire to handle Ultrawide 1440p High setting 60fps 2.2/ buy GTX 1060 now, and sell it later, to buy a GTX1070 when I upgrade my monitor. Thanks for your advise.
  10. Hi, I'd like to build my first pc ever. I've read quite a lot to bring my knowledge up to speed, and I think I'm ready to make the big Jump, but I'd like to have some confirmation and help before that. Location : Canada / Québec / Montreal Purpose : Gaming, I already have an SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 500 Gb) from my laptop which died (problem with the motherboard) that I plan to use I already have a Screen (27" 1080p 60Hz) Mouse (Razer Mamba) and an old keyboard I think, since it will be a new PC that I will need to format the Hard drive, and so buy a new copy of windows. 1/ can I format the hard drive from the bios while building the new computer or will I have problem and need to buy a new one? 2/ Is there legal way to have Windows copy cheaper than 150$ CAD ??? (Which seems really expensive) Budget : 1500$ +/- 500$ CAD (included the 15% taxes) I'm flexible on the budget, but not above 2000$ and really looking to have the most from my money. I want something to game at 1080p / 60Hz for the next 1/2 years, and after that, I'll probably upgrade my monitor and graphic card to ultra wide 1440p, so I want the others parts to be able to support this futur upgrade, or if better, buy right now the GC, and only have the screen left to buy later. what I'm currently looking for is: CPU: Intel i5 6600K - seems enough for gaming and be futur proof Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - seems a good deal, to have something cheap but working well enough Motherboard: Asus Z170-A - seems to have good review RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2x8) DDR4 3200 - seems to have few difference between different speed in price, so I think I'll go with 3200, even if I read I probably won't do much difference Case : NZXT H440 Razer edition - The case has good review, I know I'm paying premium for the Razer one, but since It will what I'll see, I'm ok with that (so I'm trying to have Black and green parts PSU: EVGA Supernova P2 750W - I'm hesitate between G2, P2, and 650 or 750 Watts, it will depend on graphic cards, but If I go with RX480 Crossfire, then I think I'll required 750Watts, but the others case, 640W will probably be enough. I read Moshe the time the PSU is overlook, but don't want to overkill either, but if a good one can last, but reuse for futur build in 7 years, I don't mince paying a little more (or to be quieter as well and safer for the parts. OS: Windows 10 Wireless: Gigabyte GC WB867D 802 ac Wifi Adapter Graphic Card : RX480? GTX 1060 ? Or 1070 and be futur proof? - big question on this one. And for future 1440p Ultra Wide, is it better to have one RX480 and buy another one for crossfire down the road, or already stretch my budget for a GTX1070? Or take a GTX1060, and try to sell it later to upgrade to 1070 (or 1080?) and reference version or custom ones? I'll probably had Razer DeathStalker keyboard and Razer Kraken to complete the mix. here is a preliminary list from pcpartpicker http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/xRnMcc 3/ to be quieter and cooler should I put more fans? Replace standard fans? Add a fan controller? down the road, I might want to put some custom sleeves cables, led, or maybe let fans to had a cool green touch, but currently make it work wil be my main focus. 4/ some advice on getting the toolkits to build this? ifixit seems to have nice one, but when you add the shipping and taxes (plus I only found it on USD so add the exchange rate) it seems quite expensive after all that! Any suggestion, or someplace I can buy in Montreal? 5/ are they reseller I should avoid? Never heard of Vuugo nor ME... ??? thanks a lot for your help.
