  1. Thanks for the heads up! Luckily I'm located in Kuwait atm which has no import tax on consumer electronics, so that takes care of 1 & 2. Good point on 3 though
  2. I visited their website, but the second link is nice actually, thanks!
  3. Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy a few Asus Zenbooks for myself and the family, and I've come across EXCaliberPC on Amazon, who have quite a nice selection of them. I'm outside the US, so their international shipping is a huge plus. their various SSD options sweeten the deal as well. So I have a few questions before hitting Checkout: -Has anyone had any experience with EXCaliberPC before? They add various RAM and storage upgrades to the laptops they sell, so I was wondering about the warranty and packaging of the laptops, ie. is the Asus warranty void? Do the laptops come in the original package? -Second part is about the laptops themselves. I'm familiar with the Zenbook Pro ux501vw, however I have a few questions about the ux306ua, ux310ua and ux510uw: Are these laptops made out of Aluminium? Are the Screens covered in glass? Is it edge to edge glass or surrounded by plastic bezels? And finally is the i7-6500u a big downgrade over the i7-6700HQ for multimedia and light games? here are the links: https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX306UA-VB72-i7-6500U-Windows-Laptop/dp/B01JFQYF78/ref=sr_1_6?m=A15EHDQVYNLON8&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1472318864&sr=1-6&keywords=zenbook https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX510UW-RB71-i7-6500U-NVIDIA-Windows/dp/B01IHHPLHO/ref=sr_1_15?m=A15EHDQVYNLON8&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1472318864&sr=1-15&keywords=zenbook https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX310UA-RB52-i5-6200U-Windows-Laptop/dp/B01KNOORGK/ref=sr_1_42?m=A15EHDQVYNLON8&s=merchant-items&ie=UTF8&qid=1472319962&sr=1-42&keywords=zenbook Many thanks in advance!
  4. There are display units, I looked at the Lenovo a few days back, and I'll go again to compare the two. Thanks alot! Thanks for the advice!
  5. I did have my mind set on an XPS 15, but unfortunately retailers here have a limited selection and none have it on offer. They have the 13 and it really looks amazing, bummer it's a bit small for what I'm used to, and lacks a discrete GPU for the CAD/FO4.
  6. Hello everyone, I'm a (fairly) new graduate who's getting ready to tackle work life ( as a Dentist, if that makes a difference), and i'm in the market for a fairly good traditional windows laptop which could serve my needs for the upcoming few years. Now, my usage scenario would include a variety of word processing/spreadsheet management/slideshow (general MS office stuff), heavy web browsing, video streaming, possibly some dental related CAD, and will sometimes include a bit of gaming (not a gamer by any stretch, but I'll want to play some titles that interest me, including fairly demanding stuff like Fallout 4). I live in kuwait for the time being, so unfortunately I don't have access to customization options on companies' websites, and will have to settle for what's available in tech outlets around here. I'm not amazing in tech , so bear with me, I'm just copying the specs to here. Two laptops have caught my attention that look like respectable offerings at a good price that suits my budget. I hope you can help me pick the better option. Both have these in common: - 15.6" FHD IPS display - Intel core i7 6700HQ CPU - 1 TB HDD @5400 rpm First is the Lenovo IdeaPad 700. Price is 1090$. Here are the unique specs: - 16 GB DDR 4 RAM - PCIe slot for SSD - Nvidia GeForce GTX 950m 4GB DDR3 Second is the HP pavilion 15. Priced at 1060$. This guy has: -Screen is touch screen -8 GB DDR 4 RAM -128 GB SSD paired with the HDD -Nvidia GeForce GTX 960m 4GB GDDR5 Now, the HP looks like it offers more bang for buck, and it will save me, as per my research, around 150$ for a separate SSD, but the Lenovo has some points in its favour. More RAM, better screen, speakers, build quality, design (in my opinion, looks more premium/professional), and keyboard are the Lenovo's strengths. TL;DR version: Lenovo IdeaPad 700 vs HP pavilion 15, both @ ~1075$. All opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated. EDIT: links to the laptops' (US) pages, in case they help tell the differences better than I did: Lenovo IdeaPad 700: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/700-series/700-15-inch/ HP Pavilion 15: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-pavilion---15t-laptop-(touch-option-available)-t9y85av-1
