The title of your thread is "Here's Why The Audio Technica ATH-M50X is a Terrible Headphone"
    That’s authoritative language.
Perhaps "Here's Why I Belueve The Audio Technica ATH-M50X is a Terrible Headphone" would be better.
Two more words makes a world of difference.

I looked at the S9 and XZ2 threads... and then wondered why Xiaomi wants to even bother to break into the US market. People are bored with phones. They're all the same now, the only thing Xiaomi can bring is lower prices. I can see why we consumers should want them to break into the market, but not much reason a company that aspires to compete with Apple in the high dollar phone market.

Linus and Luke have talked about this on the Wan show I think. USA doesn't want them on the market because they are a Chinese company and "they are spying for the Chinese government". If you ask me every big company has a backdoor in their system that big intelligence agencies know about and I don't care if they are from USA or China. If they want to get into my phone they'll find a way.

I'd love to have the Mi Max 2 if it had the right channels for the 4G

If you want something that truly sucks balls and gets heaps of praise try:

    - KZ ZS5
    - Superlux HD 681

It doesn't get worse than that

It is a bad idea for copyright/patent reasons. It opens a huge can of worms with compatibility between the different Bluetooth standards and USB-C standards. Apple makes it look easy because they're too big to fail and everyone is willing to accept the baggage of Apple's proprietary lightning port and wireless standards.

Non-Apple companies are suffering the most from this trend because they have to shuffle with different USB-C technologies that may or may not work between different devices. And it's the same story with wireless technologies.

The audio jack was just a miraculous thing for being so cheap and universal. Nothing will ever be as cheap and universal moving forward.

But how's the software support on Nokia!?

With Chinese phones you're lucky if you get any updates. It begs you to flash a custom ROM. And that's messy business.

Bachelors do make sense for some people yes. But most people should not have to commit to a 4 year program. It's too much to commit to! The baseline that everyone should start with is a 2-year program and then they can choose to upgrade to a Bachelors degree if they want to. This is what Tech schools are already doing in Canada. Some 2-year programs like accounting, civil engineering or forestry can be upgraded to Bachelors degrees with another 2 years. In many cases specialized 2-year programs are more effective for entering the workforce than broad 4-year programs that don't teach the proper skills to be hired. This is why I don't want to support Universities at all. I don't want to give them a dime. On the other hand I'd happily support tech schools and community colleges.

Which is more or less the same as I said in separating out the roles. Keep research separate from education, combining the two means both sides suffer. Hire teaching professors to teach and researchers to research. It's kinda like a company hiring an engineer to do engineering, accounting, training, PR work, and management simultaneously when all they should really be doing is engineering.

Nope, since recently Netflix is blocking all devices on Play Store that are rooted or probably if their bootloader is unlocked. It's been recently in the news.
But I don't understand their move. If someone took time and rooted their phone, they'll 100% of the time find a way to go around that aswell... In this case it's just downloading .apk from another source lmao

Honestly, after owning the Nexus 4 I'm thinking that software support is a double-edged sword. The phone was awesome out of the box and then the updates rendered it slow after only 1 year. The phone was basically obsolete in 2 years.

Having 0 software updates is kind of a good thing (IMO), especially if the software is good out of the box. I was pleasantly surprised by the $70 BLU phone I used to have. It had the lowest tier Mediatek chip and 1gb of RAM, and it was still usable. You'll be more than fine with this Mediatek phone for 2+ years, even without updates. The hardest thing is resisting the urge to upgrade as newer, marginally better phones are released every month.

People ask why they release a product when said product sells immediately? That sound like the right time to release a product to me... You wouldn't wait until there's no demand for it, would you?

Now, you may say that they can just produce more of the existing models, since they'd sell anyway. But I read a lot of people casting doubts on this card's cooler, to put it mildly. That could mean lower costs. If cooling is enough for mining, even if at high fan rpm, high noise, then they can just increase their profit margin by selling the cheaper to build card. It's not like it's going to be reflected in the price. Increasing the production of costlier models aimed at noise-sensitive consumers make less sense; same with mining-specific cards without the resale value of gaming cards. And it's not like anyone can get too picky about GPUs these days, so...

In my opinion, card games are the worst offenders and should be banned. They prey so hard on people's desperation to win. Just think about how the strongest or most useful cards are most frequently very rare and costly/time consuming to obtain. If you ever show up to a tournament with a cheap deck full of common cards you'll almost always lose.

At least with Overwatch you're not worthless for not getting the "right things" out of loot boxes.
