  1. If you want something that you can have up and printing in an hour or two good luck. For that price about all you can get is a cheap kit form china that you will have to assemble, and spend lots of time fine tuning and up grading. This can take days depending on the kit and your skills. If you shop around on some direct from china discount websites you can find prusa i3 clones starting at about $140 usd plus tax, shipping, and possible import duties. I have an Anet a8 (prusa i3 clone) and it cost about $250 and a few weekends to really get working well. I also have another $200 in filament on hand at any time, that's bout 6-8 rolls.
  2. I have a Corsair Strafe with brown switches and some cheap o-rings. I really like this keyboard and would definitely recommend it. It has a plastic shell with a steel plate under the keys so it's very solid. It doesn't have dedicated media keys they are combined with the F5-F12 keys. But unlike the the K70 or the 910 the strafe has a USB pass through that can be handy for plugging in your mouse, flash drive, phone, or whatever, It's nice if your tower is out of reach when sitting or just to help keep your desk tidy.
  3. I bought a Sapphire RX 480 reference card and couldn't stand the jet engine. I replace the stock cooler with a ARCTIC Accelero Twin Turbo III with the back plate. I run my fans all the time. My curve is set to under 30c 20% speed, 70c 55% speed, 90c 100% speed. Most of the time it runs at about 50c-60c when gaming. Even on a hot day I've never got it above 65. As for fan noise it is almost unnoticeable.
  4. My case fans are just some cheap ones that were on sale at my local ncix when I built my pc. With that much overkill they run slow and quiet. I really like my refferance rx 480 8gb . I'm not big in to first person shooter type games so 60 fps if fine for me. I haven't found a game that I play that wont run at 60 fps on high to ultra settings. but I haven't tried every game...
  5. 1. the rx 480 and the gtx 1060 are pretty close. but sli is not supported on the 1060. so keep that in mind. 2. I would go 8gb... more is more lol 3. hard to say what will come out in 4 or 5 years 4. psu is fine 5. no need for an after market cooler on a non k cpu... stock cooler will be fine as long as you have good airflow in the case I can't get my i5 6600 and stock cooler to over heat with a 100% cpu load stress test. gets to about 85c max... but i do have 6 case fans because well... more is more lol 6. most of the time sli or cross fire are a waste of money. often 1 high end card will out preform 2 mid range cards
  6. Both are good cards but I would go with the RX 480. I'm with you on not liking that lack of sli on the 1060. I'm not saying crossfire/sli is a good thing or that I would ever crossfire my RX 480, but I like having the option to do so if I want.
  7. You need a converter. You can buy RCA to VGA cables but they don't work, you still need the hardware to support it. What you want is something like this https://www.amazon.com/Composite-S-Video-Converter-Screen-Version/dp/B003NUN7DG then you just have to work out the sound.
  8. I don't Know. That link is for an ssd. If your asking will this ssd work with with your pc. Then yes it should as long as you have a sata port to plug it in to.
  9. It not as easy as just setting the ID and password, you have to change a few more setting on the router to use it as an as a wireless access point. I can't remember exactly how to set it up. Some router manufacturers have guides on it. If you google it there are lots of videos on how to do it.
  10. Yes. mx browns don't make a click sound but you can feel the "click" when you press a key.
  11. I'm using a Strafe with Cherry MX brown switches and clear o-ring dampeners. I really like it, nice bump, not to loud, good weight and solid feel. The o-rings make it quieter, and shorten the travel, that makes the keys feel better in my opinion. You can get it with single colour back light or RGB... single colour is a bit cheaper if that makes a difference to you.
  12. If your running windows 10 that's probably the problem... I'm running a i5 6600 and a Sapphire RX 480 and I had the same thing happen twice to me when playing skyrim. The last time I had fraps running and there was no drop in fps. When I closed skyrim I found that windows 10 had downloaded new updates, and wanted to restart my computer. Did a quick reboot and everything is fine.
  13. I picked up a Cyberpower 1000VA 530W USP about 2 months ago. At idle it will run my PC,screen, ISP modem/router, and a PVR for about 25min, that drops to about 5 min under full load. So lots of time to save and shutdown. There is also a USB port on the USP for monitoring and auto shutdown software. I have mine set to shutdown my PC 3 min after the power is cut, however the modem/router and PVR will stay on for hours as they draw so little power.
