    Yea it would work perfectly on your computer, just get a switch and rewire it.

    I've got a few switches laying around and one button, it's not for a car but it will be nearly the same. I can make a video on how to wire it and post it on youtube if you'd like.

    Making new posts every time a crytocurrency has a rise or a dip is just stupid imo. It is not a stable currency.

    Answers to what all those settings do can be found in the CGminer Readme. GUI miner is just a miner running on top of CGminer, it also includes a couple other miners. You're better off using CGminer directly in my opinion.

    If you choose to mine using CGminer you will need to do so using a batch file. You can create them in notepad then changing it to a .bat file.
    This quick guide should help you get started

    Cyphex reacted to RuecanOnRails in What would the optimum rig be for litecoin mining?
    Anyone who says they know whats going to happen is lying.

    Simple fact of the matter is that no one knows where your money will be best spent. Either mining or purchasing coins directly. If the price and difficulty stay the same or drop, it would be worth mining. If the price continues to increase, purchasing coins would be better.

    I'd say split the difference and invest in coins directly, as well as pick up a high end AMD GPU for mining. I'd recommend a 7970. They can hash at 730 K/hash which right now .462 Litecoin per day / $19.63 https://www.litecoinpool.org/calc?hashrate=730&difficulty=1522.6087795&power=&energycost=0.10&currency=USD

    The difficulty will continue to rise, I'd estimate around 8% increase every 3 days depending on how much interest and hashing power is added to the network. http://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty

    I wouldn't recommend making a dedicated rig at this time. Instead add a GPU or two to your current rig. You can use PCI extender/adapters to plug cards into 1x slots. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-1X-to-16X-Riser-Card-Flexible-Ribbon-Extender-Cable-19-CM-Cord-w-Molex-/281112211128?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item417397eeb8

    The money you save by not having to purchase extra hardware to make a dedicated rig can be put towards purchasing coins directly through an exchange.

    If you want to compare various hardware you can see a list of hashrates people have achieved with various set ups and their settings. https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison
    If you're looking to get a 7970, make sure you research the model number exactly before hand as some 7970's can have issues getting above 550 K/hash (most GHZ editions have these issues) I'd also avoid XFX 7970's at this time as their recent cooler isn't great for mining, it places a heatpipe across a capacitor and can literally heat it up until it pops.

    A suggested GPU would be http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=70111&promoid=1284
    I have achieved 759 K/hash on that model. You also get 3 free games to use, sell, or give away

    No, they really are not. They lack the raw power to compete with AMD for Crypto-Currency mining. A cheap, old 6870 can match a 780 or a Titan.

    BFL is one of the worst companies in the Bitcoin community along with Avalon they should be avoided. I cringe every time I see people suggest them.

    Before you decide to purchase from anywhere, always to research into what and who you're buying from.

    • Stay away from Creative's sound cards. If you don't want to pay much - get an Essence STX, or a good USB audio card, like Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (I use it with PreSonus SO 2, no problems at all. Sounds great, even compared to RME Fireface 800 - Fireface's sound is a bit brighter, more bass and highs);
    • If he'll do just music production and some games, that don't eat your GPU so much (NOT BF4 or CRYSIS3, AC4), I'd reccomend to go with a passive cooled GPU;
    • Music production PC has to be silent. Fractal Design Define R4;
    • Get an Intel SSD and a WD 2TB Black HDD;
    • "...A loud power supply is hard to deal with, because you cannot just swap the fan without training, or pretty serious danger..." Seasonic SSR-550RM, Corsair RM550, Seasonic X-650, bequiet! Dark Power Pro 10 550W or 600W or 650W;
    • An aftermarket cooler is necessary for silent operation. Noctua NH-U14S or bequiet! Dark Rock 2 are the great options;

    I hope that helps.

    Dude, it might make $37 a day with today's difficulty, but it increases by 100m every week. http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

    Edit: Let's also put it this way - You buy the 72BTC miner today. Even if the difficulty stood still (lol), you'd only make 1.56BTC a month. Do you really want to wait 46months for it to pay back? With the current rate of difficulty increasement, it will NEVER, EVER pay for itself. Oh, did I mention it also requires power?

    No, it can't. A 1TH miner can, a 63GH one can't do anything at the current difficulty.

    Hey! As a big FPS fan I can tell you there's no such thing as "the best mouse". It all comes down to personal preference. Oh, and never get a laser mouse. Even with acceleration turned off, you'll still get a bit of it. You don't want that! I suggest your read these 2 articles, they helped me a lot.
