Owlman got a reaction from Skiiwee29 in External PSU for external watercooling
It wasn't a forum mod that told me it would be better to post here, anyway I marked the other post as solved and I'll keep that in mind. Thanks!

Owlman got a reaction from Sabir in Asus ROG SWIFT PG35VQ release date?
When can we expect the 200hz hdr ultrawide monitor from asus? I'm really tempted to buy a new monitor and I'm not sure if i can stand to wait if it's going to take a year for it to be released. And if i'm going to buy now should i get the x34p or the new alienware ultrawide?

Owlman reacted to STRMfrmXMN in SFX PSU for 1080ti and 6700K
Probably, but very much not recommended if OP wants to OC.
Yes, the SF600 is probably the only PSU I'd choose for you in the SFX form factor.

Owlman got a reaction from TVwazhere in Still looking for a case
Won't be able to get that now as I'm in the planning and saving money stage atm. Probably 6 months at least before it happens. I guess I'll just try to save some more money or hope that another case which is more suited for me is made.

Owlman reacted to NinJake in Is it wise to upgrade to Kaby Lake now?
Have you encountered any scenarios where your non-k 6700 wasn't able to keep up? Otherwise I'd just wait it out for a few more years and put the money elsewhere.

Owlman got a reaction from Jumper118 in 6700k to Delid or not to Delid?
If you have a tool like the delid die mate 2 it's really easy.

Owlman got a reaction from JaegerB in What to do with EVGA Z270 Classified K?
Thanks for clarifying. Probably won't upgrade to these processors either as the 6700k will be more than good enough for a few more years

Owlman reacted to nicklmg in ULTIMATE RGB PC Build Guide
Those are some heavy accusations my friend. 1. if this was sponsored by Intel it would be declared in the video and 2. it's kinda funny to me that people still think we bend to Intel's will "for the sponsorship" after the Core i9 rant... (do you think that would've EVER seen the light of day if Intel had as much control over us as some people choose to assume?) But whatever I guess. We love having Intel as a sponsor (just like we love having AMD as a sponsor), but we're certainly not going to risk our integrity to appease them. Just think of the impact on our livelihood if we were to actually do something like that - we might as well have NO sponsors left, because we certainly wouldn't have the support of the community.
The Core i5 is a fine choice for gaming, and if I'm not mistaken what Linus says is that if you're interested in content creation and only want to change out one part from this build he would recommend upgrading to a Core i7.
The point of this build is not price to performance or even "the best performance" - it's "the RGB-ness," and to facilitate that our guys chose to use this board, which just so happened to be an Intel board. Nothing more than that.

Owlman reacted to Dackzy in New to DAC/Amps - help with HD6xx
yes, it is a hybrid tube amp, but the tube it comes with doesn't really share the typical tube sound. I would probably get a 6CG7 EH tube for it

Owlman reacted to Dackzy in Upgrade amp or buy a dac?
TBH just get a normal modi 2. I am personally not a big fan of the mimby, bifrost or bimby, to say it simple then I think they sound wrong to me, they have a fairly thick low end compared to other DACs and they are not among the DACs in this budget with the most resolution. I would actually consider an NFB 11 where only the DAC part is being used as better value than a bimby, but to be clear when I say thick low end about a DAC then it is not the same as if I said it about a pair of headphones, the DAC would be quite a bit more subtle.
A modi 2 cost 125€ and then save up the rest, later you might be able to get a better amp which the HD 650's would like.
Let me see if I can boil multibit a bit down.
So the music we listen to is encoded using pulse-code modulation also called PCM, which represents the audio as samples of the signal amplitude, but the thing is that most DACs are using pulse-density modulation also called PDM to decode and they use a technique that is called delta-sigma modulation. The drawback of delta-sigma DACs is that in order for them to do their decoding they discard the original PCM samples when they make them into PDM and they are typically 1-5 bits or something like that, this is seen as a drawback for some people and multibit is supposed to overcome this drawback. Can you hear it? maybe, maybe not.
Hope that helped a bit.

3770K isn't that old, might be bottlenecking the card a bit but not that much.

Owlman got a reaction from Megah3rtz in So just played mass effect....ugh
It's not like I didn't expect anything to be bad, but Mass Effect holds a dear place in my heart and this lack of quality control and strive to be PC is messed up. If things don't improve I'll erase thing game from my memories and stick to the trilogy

Owlman got a reaction from Megah3rtz in So just played mass effect....ugh
I'm truly heartbroken to see what Andromeda has become. Therefore I'll probably play the multiplayer and maybe the single player after some patches

Owlman reacted to TommyW2061 in Make soft tubing look a bit better?
i would say go with a triple 120 rad in the front and a small-medium large pump+res combo, keep the runs small between fittings and try to make bends that you make in the loop as symmetrical as possible compared to the other runs/bends you have. also try to match the color scheme of your mobo/case, that makes things look less chaotic and more clean

Owlman got a reaction from Megah3rtz in 4 x 8 gb or 2 x 16 gb question
Don't upgrade from a 6700k to a 7700k, it's really not worth it.

I second this, planned for ages. Posting on forums and watching videos. Currently planning a desk PC which I won't build for a year or two.
