It could be that blocking accounts that pay to have their tweets as promoted/Advert is making some impact? -
[mini] ChatGPT brings the fight to Telemarketers
BroliviaWilde replied to rcmaehl's topic in Tech News
PSA: in French, j'ai pété means, "I farted," and whenever newscasters say "ChatGPT," because of the way the letters are pronounced, they say, "Cat, I farted." -
Moderators, sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't see anything in a search. Also Mods, if this doesnt' fit what should be in the news section, feel free to edit it to fit, or move it to another section. New permissions is being rolled out across YT for pretty much all videos, new or old. The catch is, you are auto-opted-in by default, not cool at all. As far as I can tell, it's not on all videos, some of mine are veyr short to begin with, but it has shown up on some of them. Screenshot above is from one of my videos. Also, I can't find a way to mass uncheck this box, you have to go to Youtube Studio, select a video, details, and then scroll all the way to the bottom where it is buried and uncheck this box, rinse/repeat for every video. If there is a way to mass uncheck the box, please share with the rest of us. . Quotes: source is a video, full of information about how this works and implications., not sure what to quote, other than the title of it "YouTube Just Did This To Your Channel" If a channel has a significant amount of videos, this "feature" will appear on new videos as well as videos uploaded before this "feature' was rolled out. Talk about a huge pain, this means someone like LTT would spend a LOT of time having to manually uncheck this stupid box if they didn't want their videos sampled. The bigger issue is that at some point, YT is most likely going to monetize shorts which means that potential monetization of your content has to be shared with you and whoever did a Shorts of it. Just not cool at all to roll out an update, with it auto-opted in and no notice and no easy way to opt-out. Do yourself a favor, watch the entire video allthe way to the end, there maybe somethings about YT's about videos uploaded and what they can do with them. Sources I haven't seen this anywhere else except in this video:

Microsoft rolls out an update to your taskbar - Weather and News
BroliviaWilde replied to GoodBytes's topic in Tech News
Perhaps Windows will turn into that random website that is chock-full of advertisements ot the point where it's hard to even see an article. Or perhaps just do the same thing as AAA games do, literally stip the OS down of all content and sell that as DLC. Sorry, you say a program has your pc locked up? reboot it, otherwise task manager will cost you $19.99. But for the low low low price of $4.99 you can take a chance with a lootbox and it might be in one! and the odds will be that you'll get the time/news app instead sigh, and if it were to happen i'd stil use it because - muh games lol, it's not that dire, but at some point you know these things get tossed around the meeting rooms. -

seems par for the course, didn't they very recently release marketing materials where they mention AMD way more times than they did their own products? I forget which silcon launch it was. -
Youtube making ads non-optional, will not pay non-partners
BroliviaWilde replied to VascoM's topic in Tech News
a couple of days ago, I got an email from YT about them running adverts on videos specifically this middle bullet point YouTube's right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program. -
Email I recieved yesterday evening from YT: You're receiving this email because we're updating the YouTube Terms of Service ("Terms") to clarify our terms and provide transparency to our users. These changes shouldn't significantly alter your access or use of the YouTube service. A summary of the changes: Facial recognition restrictions: The Terms of Service already state that you cannot collect any information that might identify a person without their permission. While this has always included facial recognition information, the new Terms make that explicitly clear. YouTube's right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program. Royalty payments and tax withholding: For creators entitled to revenue payments, such payments will be treated as royalties from a U.S. tax perspective and Google will withhold taxes where required by law. Please make sure you read the updated Terms carefully. The new Terms will take effect on 18 November, 2020 for users in the U.S., and similar changes to our Terms of Service will be made outside the U.S. in 2021. By continuing to use YouTube after this date, you are agreeing to the new Terms. If you would like more information, visit our Help Center. Please note, if you allow your child to use YouTube Kids, then you are agreeing to the new Terms on behalf of your child as well. You received this mandatory email service announcement to update you about important changes to the YouTube Terms. © 2020 Google LLC d/b/a YouTube, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066 So it appears that end goal is turn this into a platform to attract and keep the big brands like network television that also hosts user created content for free. Pretty sure the middle bullet point means that the word "may" is a typo and should have been spelled as "will". Funny thought, I recall Jim Sterling doing the content deadlock and it was hilarious, I wonder if he or others will start doing that again.

iPhone 12 Mini/12/Pro/Pro Max Leak Hours Before the Launch

That's actually a good video, I've used it to install the KO xbox 360 wireless adapter. What that video points out is that the hardware id for both the MS and KO versions have different last 4 digits in the id number. it gives step-by-step on how to install the MS drivers and edit teh driver for the new hardware id of the KO version. But the video does not give info on how to fix the intermittent connection issue. Again, I can install either wireless adapter and either controller will connect just fine. It will randomly disconnect for various random length of times and then reconnect, that's the frustrating part.

to save myself time typing, KO = knock-off My xbox 360 wireless controller keeps intermittently disconnecting from the xbox 360 wireless adapter, this started soon after Windows 10 on my pc finally updated itself to build 2004 about 2 months ago. I've done the usual uninstall/reinstalling drivers for the adapter and controller, didn't help. I started out with the MS official adapter and controller about 3 years ago, and those have worked great until that recent windows update. Sadly, that rollback window to previous OS build has come and gone. Starting to want to pull my hair out, so I bought a brandnew KO wireless adapter and a brandnew KO wireless controller and they both exhibit the same behavior as the MS versions. using MS along with KO does the same. In all scenarios, as soon as the wireless adapter is plugged in and the controller is turned on, the controller connects immediately. If it makes any difference, my pc setup is in my profile. I haven't done a windows reinstall yet, and I really don't want to spend the time to do so unless I know for sure that it will fix the issue. Also, all other peripherals I've connected to my pc still work just fine. I can't seem to find anything that can fix this intermittent behavior and I can't rollback to previous windows build. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Three times the charm - New AMD CPU announcement + big Navi Teaser
BroliviaWilde replied to williamcll's topic in Tech News
the fps may not be as bad as it might seem to you. JP did a video ltitle while ago where he did his best to match hardware specs and settings and run his 3080. while this is a VERY small sample size, in dx 12 teh 3080 did run a bit slower than the reported numbers from AMD in the game borderlands 3 at 4k, and slightly better in dx11. -

That's not what I posted. I said the 5900XT and 5950XT, not just the x variants, here is a screencap from the GN video, look at the bottom bullet point: edit: i suspect at a later date they will have some xt variants, but this slide is most likely just some funny typos -
