Thank you both for the input!  I am very satisfied with the performance of the lens for the price.  Definitely a nice step up from the kit lens!

I believe you made a good choice. The kit lenses aren't great for much. Primes are good as they are made to be really good at one focal length where a zoom needs to be acceptable at many.

And I just got a pair of much better quads that I'll run on dice before degrading them on air unlike that one... Max BCLK 270&265 under air, 4.74 and 4.78GHz R15 at 1.4V, 3800 and 4100 uncore at 1.4V, both manage DDR3 1940. Too lazy to run these more under air now, you'll have to wait a bit for actual results

Incomplete pic, but I'll run the best of each type under dice next month.
34xE5606 (best one does 271.26 BCLK at ambient)
24xW3520 (best one does 238 BCLK at ambient)
    12xW3530 (haven't tested these)
7xE5640 (two best ones listed above)
3xE5620 (best one does 256, second best 251. BCLK is limiting on these)
    1xE5649 269.65 BCLK, 4.76 R15 at 1.4V, 2240 RAM, 4100 Uncore at 1.4V QPI

I need to get some more, but bulk lots are difficult to find sadly

Let me tell you something about design my friend

Design is not about function or what makes you the user happy. If that were the case anything that served any kind of functional importance would still be skeuomorphic probably.
"User Experience" isn't about what the user wants, it's literally the "user experience" they want to give you.
Interfaces are designed in a way to obfuscate some things and makes others more prominent or easy. Design in this age is meant to guide how the user uses an app or service. Buttons have a bias in color or even existence, secondary options just having text. It's just like prices that end in .99. You know 4.99 is 5$ and you think you're better than that but the reality is you probably aren't. It still affects you on a subconscious level.
    Design is behavior modification.
This may not apply so much to chrome, but it does to a lot of other google products and is the driving force behind material design (which isn't even the worst case of this really)
Google wants chrome to match their other products to keep their brand image, not to make it better to use. These concepts that are meant for behavior modification really make something clunky to use that wasn't designed for this kind of design language, or really any desktop program (looking at you new windows 10 setting panes)
In chrome, you should be able to change it with some flags. They'll probably remove that in the future. I don't have it yet, so I don't know, but I know I could always preview the design, at least for a few versions.
Btw im on the latest version and dont have it because rolling out design in small segments is a thing companies do to minimize complaints as well as do A/B testing.

Yah i actiually did stuff with it! Found a Maximus VI Impact with a screwed socket for €30 and bent all the pins back. One pin is missing though so if you have a stick of RAM in the outer slot it throws a no memory installed code(55). Without it it seems to be just fine so current specs of the Toaster Project would be:

    CPU - I5 4690K
    GPU - GTX 1050TI
    RAM: - 1x8GB of HyperX Red DDR3 1866MHz
Mobo: - AS(s)US Maximus VI Impact
Cooler: - Scythe big shuriken 2 rev b
    Storage: - 1TB 7200rpm HDD
    PSU: - BeQuiet! - POWER 2 300W 80+ Bronze
    Case: Fujitsu Scaleo C()

Also its got an SSD and DVD burner in there but i barely use the DVD burner and the SSD is pretty much dead. i have another SSD so im probably swapping it in soon.

here are the latest pictures of it:

IMO the new mobo looks really nice in there, with the added bonuses of not needing to carry with me a bunch of adapters and shit everywhere. and i got it for just €30 which is nothing compared to the €120 the fully working boards go for  being an ASUS board im sure il have problems with it but so far it works great!

I will be bringing the Toaster to Nordsken which is a big convent/LAN here in Sweden if anyone cares, also brought it to the last NTI LAN and it was perfect but that was before the mobo swap.

Thats it for now, been ages since the last update but it finally happaned lol

Got the 60mm Serpent NB cooler today from Performance PC's, it was super simple to attach, just remove the stock heatsink (2 screws) from the copper heatpipe/block assembly on the motherboard, and then screw it in place using stock hardware and some MX4 thermal compound. So far gotta say i am impressed. I can touch the heatpipe setup and it is MUCH cooler while under load and overclocked. And well it has a red fan on it so hey i cant complain haha.

I also have one other cooler to try, its a 40mm setup that will fit alittle nicer (this one is about 7/16"-1/2" away from the GPU). I have another motherboard coming so i'll try a few different setups. I'd love to find a universal waterblock setup for this, but have no plans on spending the money on a custom loop for an old girl like this.

I use Davinci Resolve as well. There are some really good beginner tutorials on YouTube. I watched two, and that was enough to give me the basics. It's my favorite one. There are a couple others, but they aren't as user friendly or have to make features locked down.
