    My friend is getting a 1080ti now, he got his GTX 1070 used for 350 from us friend. Later on, it bursted into flames and EVGA sent him a new one recently. So it’s basically a new 1070 for $300. He’s a nice guy so he’ll give it to me for cheap. I know the 1070 is way better than a RX 580. But is it worth losing FreeSync or having to buy a G-Sync monitor later on?

    I've had a FreeSync 144Hz monitor with a R9 380 for almost 2 years now, and i love the smooth gameplay experience. Now it's time to upgrade. I'm torn between buying a GTX 1070 off of my friend for $300 and losing FreeSync, or buying an RX 580 for about $300-$350 and keeping FreeSync. Which seems like the better option? Buying a G-Sync monitor is out of the question.
