960's would perform better but I would get an R9 390 over both.

B75 chipset motherboards don't allow overclocking.
    For LGA 1155, only the P-series and Z-series allowed for multiplier overclocking (i.e. P67, Z68, Z75, Z77).

At this point, stuck with the i7-2600.
It is still plenty powerful, and should not have much issues handling higher-end GPU's like the GTX 960 or 970 to be honest.

If you are going to spend the money on a i7-3770, might as well upgrade the entire system over to "Skylake."

    That's in suicide run territory.
Of course, absolutely nothing would happen if you just set the multiplier to 60 and neglected voltage --The moment it ramps up, it'll crash. All you have to do is clear the CMOS.

it really is one of the best if not the best mod if tried yet. its really optimized and looks great without the need for any modding skills etc.
I need to install crysis 1 tho. I have the dvd here but no dvd-reader in my itx machine *coughtorrentcough*

Oh wow... when it came out i was almost 12
I was running a q6600 overclocked to 3,3 ghz i think and a 8800gt wich was permanently overheating. Killed 1 or 2 motherboards and 2 or so psus because i was buying cheap the load on the psu must've been so high one time when my buddy was destroying a gasstation and my jeep with c4 that my psu just died, little bang and a little smoke; lights out for my pc

I need to play it again.. took 3-4 times upgrading to max it out -.-

Okay, need some advice. I have currently have a cooler master Seidon 240M cooling my cpu with the fans blowing out the top of my case and I just purchased a Corsair Hg10 N980 for my 980ti and I'm looking to use my Corsair h100i gtx on it. Since it has a 240mm radiator I am looking to install it in the front of my case where the intake fans are. But I need to know what is best for the direction of the fans. Should I have the 2 fans still drawing air from the outside across the radiator into the case or have the fans exhausting the air through the radiator out of the front of the case. I'm concerned with creating negative pressure and not getting optimal cooling by doing this but I'm also concerned with blowing hot air across my mother board even though I have a 120mm at the back exhausting air and the 2 120mm fans exhausting air out the top. Any suggestions are welcome. I thought about getting a h60 and putting it at the back where my 120mm exhaust fan is but I already have the 100i gtx and don't want to spend another 100 bucks on a new cooler since it's been a huge pain in the ass trying to sell the Cooler Master Seidon or the Corsair H100i gtx.

Radiators tend to block a lot of airflow which is why i'm recommending push pull. I very recently upgraded to push-pull on my h100i and instantly noticed much lower temps while also having lower fan speeds overall. If however, you do push pull but keep the fan speed constant, there will be insane airflow as well as very good temps throughout the whole case.

Yes less fans means less noise if they're all running at the same speed. Thing is, when you have more fans, you can run them all at a lower speed which then means lower noise in general.

yes.  430 is fine, if it's a good one.  What is it?

You know, for that matter, what's the rest of the system too, so we can check that 293 is reasonable?

das affe reacted to FatPenguin in Help
yes 430 will work. but if the 500 is only like a dollar or two more get the 500 watt. For example many graphics cards recommend you have a 500 watt power supply at least (970, 980)

ssds are good for silence and speed. one 500gb ssd and a big wd red/wd green would be a good compromise.

das affe got a reaction from colinreay in Silence will be Bliss!
A new case won't help much. you need to get those rpms reeeaaally low. the WD Red is one if not the most quiet hdd you can get from what i've read so thats good. but I would try to remove the cooler from the gpu and reseat it with just a little thermal paste so you get really good temps and can get the speed of the gpu down too.
I, myself, use only ssds and run only 3 of my 5 bequiet 140mm shadow wings at around 700rpm. It is just barely audible when getting close with the ear.
What makes the most noise is the gpu.
If reseating the cooler does not help at all you could try an all in one watercooler mount for the 970 or an aftermarket aircooler like the mk26 wich would probably be even more quiet.

big fans + low speed + little resistance (or big distance to mesh ect.) + only a few fans + low rpm hdd (like the one you got) = fucking silence <3

    I hope that helped

Wow.... so if 1 980ti draws 250w, overclocked lets say 300w then 2 980tis draw 600w. a 5820k has a tdp of 140w overclocked lets say 180w. the rest of the system lets exaggerate and say 100w. now we get 600+180+100=880 and lets add 50 for good measure. now we are at 930w. and you want to tell him "you wound need a 1500 watt psu" ?
that is 570 more than he would ever EVER EEEEVVVERR need even when using like 2 more 980tis.
why would anybody buy a 1500watt psu for 2 gpus? FOR EFFICIENCY?!

I see, you are using a 1500w psu for your 6-700watt duo of cards but even that is rediculously overkill.
He is never going to see loads or even peaks that will require more than a 1000w psu if even that.
