mrsocksman got a reaction from Roll_Like_Rollo in Experiences with non-techies
After using a keyboard shortcut I always get "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!"
Thank god I grew up with a programmer for a father. I always hear stories from my friends where they get blamed for slowing down the computer with their games when it's really the malware infestation due to people clicking every ad they see.

mrsocksman got a reaction from KnightlyBackUps in A Review of Sandisk’s portable music players – Then and Now
The Sansa Fuze with Rockbox on it is the best thing I've ever experienced. Wish I had some extra cash so I could buy another one. I lost my old one.

mrsocksman reacted to MonkeyFace in What killed my MSI 280x?
The high pitched sound is probably a coil whine. It gets worse with increased voltage. It's possible that the voltage setting was really high and killed your VRM 1.

mrsocksman reacted to Altecice in To Ati or not to Ati !
hey this is probs not accurate, I doubt a card thats been used for mining is going to fail any more than a card that was used for gaming.

mrsocksman reacted to Buckley in To Ati or not to Ati !
I've bought 2 290x's from eBay, both of which were used to mine. I had issues with one but sapphire took care of it ($20 RMA fee since it was 2nd hand) but the one I'm using now is a beauty. They're reference too just make sure they come with the manufacturer warranty if you do buy one 2nd hand

mrsocksman reacted to Mooshi in Jeremy Clarkson to be sacked if he "offends" one more person
The thing people seem to forget is that Clarkson doesn't go out and targets one group and makes it a profession, he pokes fun of everyone, including the English all the time. Even then, it's obvious tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously. Taking Jezza serious is as dumb as taking dating advice from /b/, you should have more common sense than that.
In the video clip of his apology, Clarkson mentions he heard what sounded like the word in the mumbling and cringed at himself. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have acted the way he did. This was an honest slip by a man known for fixing things with a hammer. With the countless more important things going on in the world, a mumble slip being headlines says a lot about the PC nanny state and I don't like it.
