I love repurposing stuff and thought about making a surveillance server for my dad's home cameras as well. Ever since the free cloud storage ran out the cameras haven't been recording lol. Started looking into blue iris but quickly gave up as I have enough stuff to do already but it does look interesting and I would love to do a deep dive into it if I ever find the time...

I am amazed at how much value the Ryzen 5 5500 offers. less than a hundred euros and you can build a kick ass rig with that... I am generally amazed at how hardware prices have fallen.

Hey everyone. I have two fractal prisma rgb fans lying around and finally wanted to use them. I have no experience with rgb mods so please bear with me. My mobo has a 4 pin header labeled CPU_LED. Ideally I’d like to control two fans using this header. I’ve seen Y-cable from 4 to 3pin headers on Amazon but unsure if that’s safe and how I can control it in the end. I’d like to avoid buying an extra controller if possible. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

because modular and upgradeable means bulky and awkward compared the the sleek ultrabooks that are around. Even a decent degree of serviceability means it can't be super thin and light anymore unfortunately -
