Damn bro really wishing you all the best for 2024. Never knew it was so hard to get an apprenticeship in Swizerland... In Germany everyone seems to be desperatly looking for apprentices. So if you wanna hop borders maybe thats an option? Anyways all the best to you!
  8. Hey everyone, Let's say hypothetically I had some money to spare rn and hypothetically I wanted to get into VR gaming for the first time. Let's say I went all crazy and got one of these: Kat VR Now what would be a good headset to pair this with? I was thinking the Meta Quest 2 or 3 maybe because it seems light and well supported and also tetherless. I would definitly want to play skyrim VR and also try some unofficial modded VR in Games like cyperpunk and Starfield. What else would I need? What are the optical sensors that are included in the Kat-VR bundle? What kind of setup would you recommend for being able to walk in VR? Thanks in advance!

  11. I often think about being a programmer instead of working in healthcare but just tinkering with Home Assistant and Frigate on the weekends makes me realize I wouldnt even have the patience to see one project through.

I think it depends on the tools being used and the project in question. But I could be wrong.

Wanted to buy a Lamy 2000 but none of the local…

The market of premium pens has completely lost me as a customer since I am now a doctor and am actively working on transcending handwriting and using whatever is lying around to scribble a few runes that only make sense to me.
  19. One more question, do you think the Celeron will be able to run TrueNas in a proxmox VM with only 8GB RAM? Edit: nvm it'll have to run bare metal
  20. You're right I should just try it out. And good point on the Gigabit speed... HDDs it is then
  21. Thank you! The separate SSD for fast but non-redundant storage is a great idea! Will have to see how I'm going to implement that software-wise.
  22. Hey everyone, So I can't make up my mind about the NAS build I am planning. It starts with SSD or HDD. I would go for HDD because its still about half the price/TB compred to SSD but power consumption is considerable as I add drives... I live in Germany and pay 0,43 cents per kWh so yea... for a 20W system that is more than 70 Euros per year. Also I have a Celeron J1900 board that I want to use but then again I am unsure if SSD Storage is just wasted on such a low-power board. I plan on storing up to 10TB of research-related data (right now it's only about 2 TB but i like to have headroom) and use the rest for other things like game saves, movies, etc. I thought about just getting two 12 TB drives and running them in Raid 1 for now to see if I am actually going to use this system and if performance is ok... on the other hand I could splurge on 4TB m.2 SSDs and an Asus hyper-card but that would be kinda ridiculous wouldn't it? Also I wouldn't have parity/redundancy... What are your thoughts on this? what else should I consider?
