Pretty much every sci-fi show I’ve watched hs that one „parallel universe“ or „mirror dimension“ episode to the point where it’s annoying me as soon as I see something like it. I guess I watch too much sci-fi. 

My guess is that writers love it because it’s basically a free episode and everyone else because you can make a new set and everything with some minimal changes.
