Only problem with the Pixel is I don't like the Tensor chip at all, it lags behind in a lot of ways.

The answer is probably yes but most likely not worth it or even noticeable if the GPU is being fully utilized.

Its all games on my computer linux beats it. And yeah windows is really bloated, RAM usage is high and one thing I found out recently is Windows 11's windows defenders uses a lot of CPU cycles while gaming, switching to avast helped but even then linux is still faster.

Its an HP Zbook, and yeah using the iGPU fixes the issue but I would rather keep the iGPU off, my system has a Mux switch which allows me to run the system just off the Nvidia chip which if I do that causes the memory leak.

Renton577 got a reaction from cretsiah in Should I just stick with windows or should I try and go back to Manjaro or PopOS?
I moved to Linux because I like it way more than windows, the customization and openness of the OS is really nice and not having telemetry in everything is nice. The main reason though is that windows is god awful at utilizing my hardware. I actually just made a post about this. In windows playing a game the CPU throttles down to 1.5Ghz at times and the GPU 700Mhz, in Linux playing the same game the CPU stays at base clocks 2.4Ghz and 1100Mhz GPU. Even running a game in wine on Linux the performance gain is crazy.

I've just always had bad luck with windows especially 11 and Manjaro is doing really good for me. I use Intel_GPU_Tools for my GPU and use s-tui for CPU monitoring.

I actually watched that and heavily debloated windows 11 and it still didn't work as well as linux on this laptop. I will stay on linux I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.

I ended up going Manjaro KDE Plasma and I love it, big thing with it is I saw almost a 2x performance jump when it came to CPU intensive tasks due to the fact that windows wasn't chewing through my CPU cycles.

I thought about doing this but my system came with 11 so I don't know if the key would be interchangeable for it. Plus I'd prefer to be on a current operating system that hasn't been replaced even though windows 10 is still being supported I'd feel like I would still have it chewing through my CPU cycles just like 11 with background tasks like antimalware service and what not.

I would get rid of the 1050 TI and get a 5600G. Sure, the 1050 TI is like 20% faster, but that 3300X will bottleneck the GPU in the games you play. Also the 5600G has better upgradeability for the GPU. With the money you save you can get a 240gb SSD and better motherboard.

That's gonna be kinda hard with the GPU market like it is right now. If you can find a Ryzen 5000 G series with the integrated graphics that's an awesome place to start, you can build a really decent computer with those and the iGPUs are really good, much better than what you're using now and later down the line you could add in a GPU when they are more affordable.

Thanks for the response, that’s kinda what I was thinking too especially since it seems like most sensitive traffic would be run through the PSN servers so I don’t really think I need to worry about any potential snoopers on the apartments WiFi when it comes to consoles.

Thanks for the input this is kinda what I was thinking. I took the TV back and am sticking with my 1080P TV for now. It may be 13 years old but it was expensive when I first bought it and from my viewing distance it still looks amazing especially if I use supersampling. I’ll just wait and get a high end OLED in a month or two probably if I really feel like I need the upgrade.

Renton577 got a reaction from Moonzy in Randomly Getting No Audio in Windows 10 Fix.
So not too long after updating windows 10 to the latest version I woke up to find I had no audio and knew it wasn't my hardware. I tried doing a bunch of stuff even reinstalling the driver but oddly the only way I got it it working was to right click on the audio icon in the tray and run the troubleshooter. The windows help window pops up and it asks you to run a scan on the audio, after you do it says there is a problem with your audio driver and after it runs for a few minutes you should have sound back. Thought I would post this just in case anyone else was having the issue, hopefully it helps someone.

Renton577 got a reaction from User123564 in Is it okay to overclock my laptop monitor?
So I have an HP omen laptop that has a 60Hz display and my home monitor I connect it to is 80Hz so I wanted a closer experience to me being at home while I was on the go so I overclocked the display. I tried 80Hz to match my home monitor and got almost a scan line effect on the screen, reduced it to 75Hz and its running fine now, my question is am I okay doing this or should I just leave it at the 60Hz? And yes I can tell the difference when playing games so the overclock does seem worth it for me.

This is just a long shot but have you tried reseating the CPU? I don't know if its applicable on AMD CPUs since they have a different pin system but if the CPU isn't seated properly it can have issues with memory. Also I would make sure you have the latest BIOS for your board.

You will be able to run it well but don't expect to put in graphic mods really, you will probably be able to play at moderate settings, probably a 8-16 chunk render distance at 1080P. I wouldn't worry too much about it, minecraft is fairly CPU dependent and that CPU isn't bad at all.

That price point is pretty spot on and I mean how to distinguish is hard, I would just ask them to send you a picture or video of GPU-Z, it usually will say Fake if its a Fake.

I am at medium power but Folding is using 100% GPU usage at max clocks right now which is why the fans are at 100% but yeah thats with the CPU not doing anything but the CPU and GPU share heat pipes.

Thank you, I am folding on the LTT team currently. And GPU stays below 80C with max fan speed but CPU stays in the 90s to 100 sadly since its a laptop and keeps the core clock at around 3.9Ghz.
