    It would come down to whether you'd count portability higher than efficiency seeing as the Mac could most likely handle the above-mentioned activities but the Ryzen desktop would complete the tasks such as video editing quicker.

    Wow this is a great suggested alternative. You have my thanks for this. The most important thing about this is I just wanted to show him that it's always better to buy parts and assemble them than buy a prebuilt with no upgrade options for way too much. Again thank you for the great build suggestion.

    I'm putting together a build for someone else and just wanted to know if this seemed like a worthwhile build. The person mainly plays Warframe, Roblox, Minecraft, and Space Engineers and he is honestly struggling with only a laptop and not a gaming one at that. I fully understand that he'll need to upgrade to keep up with new games. This is the system thus far. Thank you for any help!

    After a long search I finally found the mounting bracket I needed on the European cm store. Here's the link for anyone else who may need it in the future.

    Thank you partymarty for the quick response and the welcoming. I guess I will need to buy a second V8 and use the bracket. Hopefully I find a place to use the bracketless one somewhere down the line. When I tried mounting with zip ties the cooler had a hard time staying against the CPU because of the weight so it'll need to be a horizontal case.

    I was wondering if the cooler master family of heatsinks have a interchangable system of brackets as I recently aquired a Cooler Master V8 (non-gts) but it has no brackets. I was thinking of buying a Hyper 212 Evo and switching the brackets but alas I would like to know if the mounting is the same. Thank you for any answers you can give to a rather new member of the pc building family.

    Can I change the RAM in my computer from the old 3gb of ddr2 to 8gb of ddr2 without reinstalling Windows? Any answers are much appreciated.

    This is where my problem is I use the vga port on the motherboard but still nothing on the monitor (I also used the hdmi port)

    Its a used motherboard and I never powered it on before. Its a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H and the only beep I get is 1 short beep.
