  1. Tested with corsair 650w on another socket. All seemed fine for an hour or so then it BSOD, msg was attempted write to readonly memory. Happened while watching Netflix. Reboot and did memory diagnostics. No issues detected. Will try removing and reinstall Radeon CCC. Not sure if it's GPU related. Might follow that up with bios flash. Thanks everyone.
  2. No, there was no power outage. It just happened (sudden shutdown followed by start and stop loop). No breakers were tripped, all other appliances on the same had no issues. Can't test the PSU because once it occurs the PSU is a goner. Using a multimeter, chassis power switch is working, I thought it may be a case where it's staying latched. Still troubleshooting and eliminating.
  3. In the last 2 weeks I have had 3 PSU die. Specs as follows... Gigabyte Z97 UD3H-BK 4790K, no overclock XFX HD 7950 2 x 8GB 1600MHz RAM 2 x HDD (storage) 1 x SSD (OS) Casualties... Seasonic 1000w Platinum Seasonic 1050w Platinum Corsair 650w Bronze I'm in Singapore and our mains supply is very stable. Unlikely a surge of some kind. Symptoms are the same in all 3 incidents. Loss of power followed by unable to boot, power supply goes into a start and stop loop. No pop or crackle, no burning smell. I've tried the following to narrow down the root cause Switch to a different PSU change RAM sticks Reseat RAM teardown and reassemble to check connections Check for metal bits causing a short Symptoms started all of a sudden after a year of uninterrupted use. No recent changes that I can think of. That could cause it. This is a gaming and work machine. I need it to work. I'm an elementary school teacher and do most of my lesson planning and creation on this machine. I have a spare in the living room and that rig is running without issue. Suggestions and thoughts on this perplexing issue is most welcomed. Could a mobo or GPU cause a PSU failure? I always thought it was the other way around. Right now those are the only 2 hardware left. I'm off to get another RMA on the Seasonic. The Corsair is out of warranty so that is going to the junk pile. Thanks everyone. My first post here had to be under such circumstances... any help is much appreciated. Azad
