I use VLC purely because 99% of the time I'm on Linux so I know it will work consistently between Linux and Windows. (well consistently terrible if you try to jump around the timeline and lot and frame advance LOL)

This might be a better choice than buying 2070

GTX 1080 vs RTX 2070 is only 8% difference.  Is this a joke ?  When I did my upgrade it was almost 500% difference

Absolutely true, I ended up doing this. I had time to spare anyway. Turns out it does do good but is still priced at 700usd. Thats out of my budget.
and after my extensive research into the 2070, I think I'm good lol. Besides, wouldnt 1440p@144 be similar if not more demanding than 4k@60?

    No, not really.
Especially as the other Card isn't really any better.

So I'd rather not do that right now...

At least wait a week and show how Radeon VII really is and what that will do.
No need to rush it, right?

MSI and Gigabyte are good too. Asus ROG Strix is simply the best on the market.  MSI is only good if you are buying Gaming X Trio or Lightning models. Gigabyte you should buy only Aorus. Other Gigabyte models are a waste of money. I recommend getting the one that you can afford, but yes, a couple of months without a GPU and extra 250 bucks won’t hurt.

I recommend buying Strix. Had it a couple of times and experienced no problems.

Are you fine waiting and spending the extra money? If you are, it's worth it.

Buy as much GPU as you can justify yourself. If you want fps, you can always turn down settings

And also buy the cheapest one available. All that extra cooling is not needed.

As I understand it, the difference in performance isn't very much. But if you can get it for only 30$ difference, then sure, go for it

Aio's and water cooling itself isn't really worth it over air cooling unless you are doing some serious overclocking, really it's just to flex on people IMO

just get a CDN$115 corsair unit. it is exactly same AIO exept the fans and RGB. $25 difference between corsair and cooler master is not a big deal

Idk if you'll have room in your build but ek's aluminum or se kits are roughly equivalent in price to the 115i pro price and deliver better performance and customization. I was able to fit their s240 kit with one of their water blocks into a silverstone rvz-03 which I believe is 14L of internal volume. Though I had to use right angled fittings so I'm pretty sure I ended up spending something like $300 so that's a little bit over but their aluminum kit is about $160 I believe though the rad is 30mm thick instead of 25 but other than that depending on your cpu it may or may not be work using liquid at all. Just food for thought.

I couldn't really find out anything, but apart from what @Bananasplit_00 said, I'd guess the radiators might be of different thicknesses...?

well as you can see the ''test'' is more an nvidia provided ''demo'' at their boot or something...it's probably best to wait for reviewers to test and see what ''other'' non supporte freesync monitors can do with the new drivers...also nvidia might improve support in the future as well...but if you want to play it safe and have it working on day 1 january 15th when the driver is released...best to pick one from the list.

Hey thanks for this! Didn't realize testing was out already. and actually the Acer model I've been considering turned out to be one of the 12 approved. You might have just made my decision for me lol

No. Although all monitors will have some bleeding, especially if they are IPS. I have an AG271QG and mine seems to be not as bad as the Acer or ASUS comparable models.

I have a 2236vw I got 9-10 years ago (mom got it STUPID cheap since it was a Best Buy display model), and all in all it's served me well. Only real issue it's managed to pick up is some really high-pitched coil whine (probably from power delivery).

My AOC AG271QX is doing well. No dead pixels or other issues.

One thing you should note though, the AG271QX isn't just a Freesync version on the AG271QG. The QG uses an IPS panel, the QX is a TN panel.
