  1. These pictures look great but I have read up on S22 plus more and found that there is a shutter lag on Samsung phones? Has it been noticeable in your use just going about daily?
  2. Having watched this video I'm actually kinda interested in a pixel 6a now but what would you say could be the main trade-off between that and a Samsung phone? I've done some research and it sounds like pixel phones just don't have a shutter lag but would you say that's accurate?
  3. How does an S22+ do for you in terms of battery life? I've read online that the battery life on S22+ isn't great but I'm guessing it also depends on usage? Would you also happen to know how the camera on that S22+ compares to a pixel 7?
  4. I'm currently rocking an old Samsung A6 plus from several years ago that I got cheap, I never really cared for a good phone simply because I didn't really need all the bells and whistles good phones offer or a particularly fast phone as I only really use my phone to read messages/news or maybe listen to music, with the rare video watching. However, I've been travelling more and more lately and after 2 trips I've had enough because my phone just doesn't do the locations I've been to justice and I'd really have liked some better pictures to remember really good memories by so I've been looking for a better phone. I've been pointed to a Pixel 7 by a friend and I'd also seen pictures taken with a Pixel another friend had which looked pretty nice. I'm about to fly to Spain for another trip and am wondering whether I could pick up a Pixel 7 before the trip or whether I should wait for a Pixel 8 like everyone is saying. I doubt I'd need to upgrade often as I don't really need a fast phone, though my old A6 plus is kinda annoying sometimes when it lags doing basic tasks but I spend most my time on a laptop or a PC anyways so I didn't care. I am however concerned if a Pixel 7 could run smoothly for another 4 years or so, and I understand this is not really a reasonable question to ask, but as a comparison, how do 4 year old pixels fare in 2023? Right now the Pixel 7 is on Amazon for only £400 and I could get it next Monday before I fly to Spain next Wednesday and I'm really conflicted wondering whether the Pixel 8 upgrade could be significant enough for me to want to miss taking good pictures in Spain. If anyone has any recommendations for a phone I could get with a good camera and, not a deal breaker but a really nice to have feature like water resistance, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  5. I think it meant 100W at 74Wh as shown in the image below, I'm taking this straight from the Amazon listing here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Baseus-Portable-Battery-Charging-20000mAh/dp/B09PH8BW41?th=1 but 74Wh is slightly bigger than the biggest capacity 6 cell battery I can buy in the form of a Lenovo battery. I just figured if I bought a larger power bank I could use it while travelling too so it'd fit a few multiple purposes and I'm most likely going to be plugged in like 95% of the time and I'm only getting this power bank on the off chance I might need it. It's also why I'm asking whether it could work. I think it supports 100w from 20V (20V*5A=100W)?
  6. OK so I just scored a T480 on Ebay for only £60 but the batteries on that unit is apparently dead so I'm wondering whether I could just get a 100W power bank to use as a battery instead of buying a replacement battery for just the laptop itself. My question here is whether I can just connect the power bank to the laptop itself to use as a power source when I'm on the go or if I'd still need a working battery in the system. My intuition's telling me I could just use the power bank as a power source but given the power bank costs just as much as the laptop I wanna make sure it works before I commit to a purchase. Thank you!
  7. I also think this is the case, first gen Ryzen boards and CPU's were terrible with memory AFAIK and I could not get my memory to run at 3000mhz for 5 years until I upgraded to a 5600. I've always wanted to upgrade to a better MOBO but couldn't justify the cost since the board still works but I do sigh every time it just hard reboots and really wanna upgrade, I would've chosen to upgrade my entire platform from AM4 to AM5 if not for how expensive DDR5's are. I felt like I overpaid for my hardware in 2017 when I built my first PC at 16 and wasn't too smart with money and so now I just have this mental block in my head that prohibits me from paying the early adopter's fee. In hindsight, it probably wasn't such a bad purchase considering how OK my PC is even now 6 years later, the piece de resistance is undoubtedly my 1080Ti that I aim to keep using for another generation or two until I actually get employed and can afford an upgrade. Probably didn't need to give you a rundown on my life story but here you go.
  8. I have run a Memtest and it seem to have returned no errors. Likewise for my boot SSD, I own a Samsuing 960 Evo and both S.M.A.R.T on the magician software and Crystaldiskinfo seem to suggest the drive is in great condition. For what it's worth I've also run both scannow and chkdsk in the command prompt and it looks like neither my drive nor my install of windows seem to be the problem here. I seem to have gotten a new BSOD when I tried to replicate this error and it showed "page fault in nonpaged area" as an error, I tried googling it and it looks like it could be due to anything from what I've found on google. I have also tried replicating the problem with my keyboard and mouse unplugged but leaving the monitor plugged in and it returned the same error screen, the only difference being I had to hit my desk way more times(like 3x) for it to actually happen. The one constant seems to be my keyboard getting doing a tiny hop that seems to trigger it, of course when it's unplugged I'd have to hit the desk hard repeatedly and the keyboard would hop anyways. I should probably also mention that I vaguely remember this being a problem even a few years ago before I moved to university but it was a different setup and the problem also wasn't this bad, like the PC would hard reset but it'd never fail to boot.
  9. I have a Ryzen 5 5600, upgraded from an r7 1700. with a 6 year old Asus B350 Prime and 2 sticks of 8GB 3000mhz, CL16 RAM and a GTX 1080Ti. This has been a recurring problem since before I even upgraded from 1700 where if I shook or moved the powered on PC even a tiny bit, or if I knock on my table in a fit of GAMER RAGE, my screen would sometimes freeze or straight up turn black and receive no signal or the PC would just reboot. On a bad day, this problem gets worse where the PC just goes into a failed boot where the monitor receives no signal but my keyboard lights up. If I try to perform a hard reset at this stage, the next time my PC tries to boot, not even the keyboard would light up. This is particularly strange since my PC is on the floor so I have no idea what could've caused the this problem when I knock on my table. The one thing I could think of is because my keyboard jumped a little bit which may have somehow caused the same problem as moving my PC? Anyway, the fix is also very strange. I would simply need to reseat my RAM sticks, but the problem is I can't reseat both of them at the same time or the PC wouldn't boot, I'd have to try only one channel, get the PC to fully boot and only then could I put the other stick in. I also briefly remember resetting CMOS might also do the job, but when I used to reset CMOS I'd also reseat the RAM so I'm not convinced resetting CMOS was the solution. I am also convinced this is something to do with the motherboard and not CPU since this has been a problem since before I upgraded. I also have another 2 sticks of the same RAM bought on a different date that I've given up trying to boot with because this problem just gets worse when I try to boot with them. If anyone could maybe point out any potential issue, that'd be most helpful. Thank you very much!
  10. Does anyone have a link to a guide anywhere? I've been googling it and just getting confused because I see people undervolting or sometimes saying pbo doesn't necessarily give you more performance or something so I would really like a PBO overclocking guide please, (I've never used PBO before).
  11. I probably should've mentioned this but I am in the UK. As for my budget it would be around £90 max. While I do know that 8th gen i5's are quad cores, all the T480's that are complete cost at least £200. While I have seen low auctions, the prices get blown up fast. As for T470's you can get them for about £130 refurbished or lower around £80 if you get lucky in auctions. I need to clarify that it will be extremely unlikely I use this for any gaming as I have a separate PC with a 1080Ti and I really doubt I'll use the laptop to do any gaming when I could do it in the comfort of my own home. With this in mind is it really worth springing for a T480? I will only use it to study or work so maybe about 25 weeks of a year where I actually have to work or study with it, when I'm at home I doubt I'll use it. T480's just look so much more expensive and I find the price increase unjustifiable when I'm only gonna be using it for Stata and Chrome which I doubt would be super demanding. I just strongly doubt that the over 100% in price is worth the maybe 50/60% increase in performance but of course if y'all have any other used and cheap models for me to look into please do list them.
  12. So I took a look around the forum for a good used laptop I could use for my study needs and came across the Lenovo T470. The main program I'll have it run is probably Stata and chrome which shouldn't be too demanding on a modern laptop from within the past 6 years. Now I have no idea how they should be priced so could anyone give me a range of prices I should expect to pay for something like this? Alternatively if you have any other recommendations please do list them down.
  13. Given now that the R5 5600 is only £140 new on Amazon now, I think this is the most effective upgrade option to last me a couple more years? Just figured I'll ask before I buy it since I haven't kept up with the news
  14. So I was puzzled by how I couldn't access sites outside google, facebook and microsoft and long story short I've narrowed down the problem down to my ipv6 only connectivity, my ipv4 has no internet access. I've tried a lot of different ipv6 sites and most work, so that means netflix, wikipedia, even obscure ones like wyrddreams.com or isoc.org, which I think confirms my suspicion that I'm having connectivity problems due to my ipv6 only connectivity. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix no ipv4 connectivity? The ethernet was working perfectly fine on my pc before I moved in to my new place so I don't think it's a problem on my end.
  15. I'm gonna create a new post in hopes of getting some more fresh response.
  16. If this was the issue wouldn't that imply I would be able to access other sites like yahoo given yahoo.com has ipv6? It's strange but I still can't seem to connect to yahoo even though I can connect to wikipedia.
  17. So would that be because of a problem with the router or is the issue with my machine? It's only after I moved into this house that I can't seem to get ethernet to work on my machine so I'm thinking there's a problem with a router?
  18. I just checked and realised my IPv4 is has no internet access so only my IPv6 is working, could that be the problem?
  19. I just turned off the firewall and rebooted my pc and nothing seems to have changed so I doubt it's anything to do with my firewall settings.
  20. I only have one pc though, if I'm trying to get the other devices of the network I might not be able to cuz i live in a shared house with 7 other people
  21. Anywhere I should check specifically? I've never messed around before with firewall settings
  22. So after spending about 2 hours on trying to fix my ethernet but no connection with my landlord, things only got fixed after we restarted the router but now that my pc is connected to the internet, it would only connect to google and Microsoft sites for some reason. I had to uninstall my VPN because that was somehow blocking the ethernet connection but after I did while I did gain access to the internet I couldn't actually get any other services going aside from web browsing on google and microsoft sites, this means I can't update my windows (the pc hasn't been connected to the internet since June) or just any other apps in general. The weird thing about this is that I could access other websites only within like the first minute of my pc booting which just makes it even more confusing. Does anyone have a clue why my pc's doing that? Edit: Only my IPv6 seems to be working, my IPv4 just says no internet access so could that be the issue?
  23. I've had my ram for 5 years and not once have I been able to get it stable above 2133mhz it's honestly kind of sad. Does sound like a 5600 is gonna solve my issues with memory though.
