  1. Trying to help a friend with one of my old builds that I gave him. ASUS Sabertooth Z77 i7 3770K EVGA 780 FTW x2 (SLI) He has been using it for more than a year without issues (of course I build it a few years ago; never had issues with it). He told be there was a power outage a few days ago (it was connected to a UPS). He was able to turn the computer off normally (it didn’t shutdown when the power went down). After the power outage he tuned on the PC an got a warning about 5V overvoltage. This overvoltage issue seems to come and go after that day. Sometimes its normal at around 5.280V, but sometimes it spikes to 5.680V Shortly after (after some NVIDIA drivers) he noticed that games felt super laggy. Trying to figure out what was going on the noticed that on device manager the second card has Code 43. At this point he removed the SLI bridge and reseated the GPUs and booted. Same issue. He tried to boot with only 1 card, then the other card. Then the same thing on the other PCI slot (each card tested individually). Same error. So he purchased the another PSU, but still the same issue with the voltage and code 43. Could this be the MoBo? Could actually both GPU be bad? Could a bad GPU cause a 5V overvoltage?
  2. I bought the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum in late 2017. Around July-August I began having issues where audio wouldnt come out the left ear cup. It appears it had something to do with the power button since if I played around with it it would get fixed. Eventually is was just a hassle and I filed an RMA and got a new set around September. The replacements worked fine until last week. Went out to eat and when I came back no audio from one the left side, at all. The right side gave away that same day while troubleshooting. I ordered the Sennheiser GSP600 wit the GX1000. They sound ok I guess, not worse, but they didnt blew me away compared to the G933 (I cant directly compare since Im still waiting on Logitech; their support is so slow). I have always read of ppl saying to skip gaming headphones and just get a headset and mic so Im thinking of returning the GSP600/GX1000 and buying the Sennheiser HD 660S which get alot of great reviews. Would they sound ok connected to my ASUS Formula X or do I need a DAC/AMP combo? Any recommendations? Will this work? Has anyone used them? https://www.amazon.com/BlasterX-External-Headphone-Surround-Sidetone/dp/B07FY45F2S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1549222650&sr=8-4&keywords=sound+blaster+x7 I will use them mostly for gaming.
  3. I purchased a set of 32GB 3600 C18 about a month ago. The 32GB 3200 C14 wasnt available at the time and I couldnt wait. The are now in stock. The price difference is minimal. Would it make a difference? What would you rather have? The higher clock with higher CAS latency or lower clock and lower CAS latency?
  4. ASUS ROG Maximus X Formula Intel Core i7-8700K
  5. Im purchasing new RAM. Should I go with slightly higher frequency (3600) and CAS latency (18) ... Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz C18 LED Desktop Memory - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1TT84Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_BmBNBbXPTRPNE or or lower frequency (3466) and CAS (16) latency ... 6. Shoot. Like I said, I dont mind spending money if its worth it.
  7. I currently own the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum. They sound good (I think?) and Im happy with the positional/directional audio which is VERY important to me since I mostly play FPS. The Logitech have been having some issue were the audio cuts of for a few seconds in-game (like they re-connect) and also the left side has some issue where the power button affects some of the speakers on the left side ... you have to play with the power on/off switch or else some of the speakers dont seem to turn on or output audio, very strange. I was thinking of buying something else. Like I said this is mostly for gaming and situational awareness is VERY important to me. I dont have a dedicated sound card, my MoBo is a ASUS ROG Maximus X Formula. Would a dedicated sound card help it a all? Do I need an AMP? (Never owned one, but I see people recommending them) I have read most people say to buy non-gaming headphones. Is that correct? I dont mind spending some money if whatever I buy is worth it, but I dont want to buy something really expensive that for example I will only see the real benefit if I use it to listen to music. I have read some people recommending these ,,, https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1529501439&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=seinhessier+headphones&psc=1 Are those good in my case? Any other recommendations/input will be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. I currently own the Logitech Artemis Spectrum 933, but they started to act up recently. The audio cuts off (though I have sort of remedied this by disabling the auto sleep; though this shouldn’t happen mid game). The other issue is that the audio just doesn’t sound correctly sometimes and I have to turn them off/on again until they start working again. It’s like one of the audio channels turns off or there is no bass, it just sounds wired (not normal). I play mostly FPS so sorround sound (directional audio) is VERY important to me. What’s better 7.1 or Dolby Atmos? What’s would be the best or some of the best headphones in my case? Recommendations? Thanks in advanced for any input.
  9. I was finally able to snag a EVGA 1080 FTW so I ordered the parts for my new build. I still haven't received the GPU, PSU and RAM but I should get them all by Thursday. I started building with what I have so I can be up and running faster once I get the rest of the parts in. The case is Phantek Enthoo Evolv ATX (Tempered Glass Edition). The case has something called a PWM Hub (I have never worked with one of these; my current build is with a CM Storm Trooper). The manual suggest connecting the PWM Hub to the CPU_Fan on the MoBo. I also purchased a Corsair H115i. What should I do here? Should I connect the PWM Hub to the CPU_Fan to the MoBo like suggested? Where do I connect the Corsair H115i? To the PWM Hub? To the W_Pump on the MoBo? Any other suggestion/tips pros/cons on using the PWM Hub would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.
