  1. yeah ill go for the msi. the x99-m is micro board too so i figure msi is better longterm. ill let you know how it goes maybe with a pic or two
  2. Most Reliable X99 Motherboard? Im looking for something to use with my i7 6800k. I didnt like the asus x99-e had alot of issues with that budget board. Friend of mine has a x99 titanium msi board i can buy today for 300. theres also a x99-m ws locally i see for 260, which i think is older but still very reliable. (most reliable apparently pugetsystems says if their word means anything) I do like the msi because its bigger has more features. Im able to test both of them before purchase so i figured id ask the community here before i invest in what im thinking is the most crucial part to my rig. Which would u go for between these 2? its my understanding ill spend 70-150 more on any other model Edit: Figured id put up this partlist. I have everything except for motherboard. As i had this built with an x99-e asus board before dismantling and putting up this thread. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/wHq6m8
  3. Best Cheap full atx tower. I saw Phanteks Enthoo Pro / NZXT Source 530 options, but the corsair seemed to be worth the extra money at that point.
  4. So heres my current build. I used the asus x99-e because i had such a great run last 6 months since august on my last build e5 2683 v3 es cpu. which now are triple the price so this time i bought a i7 6800k for 300$ on kijiji. got a good deal on 1070 and thus this build began. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/WgkZr7 Have everything except Case. Currently using a Thermaltake Soprano the new usb 3.0 one with top dock. Although i want to go with full sized tower. I found a 600t for cheap, like 50$ used cheap but i am wondering since i got such nice components maybe buying new is best option.I was considering the 750d // 780t corsair. The CM storm isnt bad option either. But im siding to the corsairs as i do have afew of those corsair white led 120mm fans here taht arent getting used
  5. So does anyone have any cheap motherboard recommendations. or is the X99 Ud3p from ncix my cheapest and safest bet.? Not sure the Sabertooth is worth an extra 140$ since im using the ES cpu...? Also will this build be alot faster then the T5500 dual X5660 system im running now? or should i really build something dual cpu?
  6. New Build - E5 2683 v3 ES X99 Rig http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/rjmYTH So this all started with the e5 v1 craze i just dont want old server chipset and then build up around it, i can get a t5500 for that which is what i did until my cpu comes in, So I got one of these 2683 v3 chips. then started hunting parts on kijiji and craigslist. -E5 2683 v3 - paid 260 cad.... Maybe buy another if go dual socket. -Brand new Intel S200C cooler 30$... maybe buy another if go dual socket.. -X99 Motherboard. Gigabyte Ud3p or Msi X99A Raider or Asus X99a All of these are under 300 tax in canadian. -Ram. I found 16gb of kingston ddr4 to run for now for 60$ -Bluray drive, kept from old system -HDD's kept from old system -Adata sp550 240gb SSD - paid 40$ -Level 10 GT Case - brand new paid 80$ -Galaxy 2gb GTX670 - paid 50$ ~Brand new unused 600w Seasonic - paid 30$ ~Now i see cheapest dual socket board around 600$ super micro x10dai. I think afew parts id have to change out if i go dual not to mention a 2nd chip. So please only suggest a dual system if its worth it to me. I came from a 3930k running videos find until 4k stuff Then i got this T5500 with two x5660ss and put afew parts from the new rig in here, the ssd, the drives the gfx card.. Now I wonder do i sell off the t5500 as a gaming rig to build this one.? Or do i need a 2nd chip to compare to this godly t5500? ect ect Hopefully I can get some insightful advice to help me on my quest. This build is 783$ CAD single cocket. Well over 1200 for dual socket. as the ram cpu and motherboard would change. maybe even powersupply too Either way, If the single socket you see ive listed here will be a major improvement over this t5500 i paid less then 500$ for then I consider the 783$ well spent, if its only a 5 or 10% gain in speeds maybe im better to go dual? anotehr suggesttion is to Sell this as a hackintosh for 1500 fully build and then build something totally different. Mainly premiere / sony veagas use here. 4k MXF files from Sony FS7 So basically i need help on motherboards Will it matter if i use the super cheap ud3p. or do i have to buy quality like the TUF sabertooth, if that even means quality. Either way for 800$ im sure this should be a great rig. its half of what i spend 3 years ago on building a 3930k. although these are used parts, when i was using part picker it was still a 1600$ rig before i put in manual prices.
