  1. Hey guys I posted a topic awhile back about Fallout 4 not being able to save changes to graphical settings, It's locked on Low and I can't change it, not even by forcing it to ultra through .ini files. I finally gave up and went to Skyrim which still worked good at the time. Now Skyrim is doing the exact same thing literally just after I got it running great. And seemingly for no apparent reason... I'm really at my wits end here guys, I've tried everything to no avail, if anyone had had this before and/or knows a fix please let me know. Edit: I know it's not the .ini files being set to read only, I've already checked so don't bother with it.
  2. don't really have anti virus protection I use Windows 10's built in anti-virus software. I have Advanced SystemCare but I don't have real-time protection on. Sorry I took so long I've had stuff at work come up and I forgot to check back in.
  3. Ive completely reinstalled it man, still with no luck, also tried deleting them, I doesn't seem to do anything.
  4. Hey guys I'm back again with an odd one. I just tired booting up Fallout 4 on a fresh install of Windows 10 and noticed that the graphics settings would not change. I've tried running it as Admin, and I even checked to see if the fallout4pref.ini files were set to Read Only; I even tried reinstalling the damn thing. But still I've had no luck, I tested Skyrim: Special Edition and it works fine so I'm kind of lost here. If anyone knows what's up and how to fix it it would be really appreciated, I want to get back to slaying mutants and robot synths.
  5. Holy Crap it worked I just had to restart and try again. Thank you for helping me with this. I learned my lesson, don't mess with Windows Apps...
  6. It's still asking for admin permission after take ownership was used. I managed to move one of the files back into place but I think I messed the other one up pretty bad.
  7. Alright so I made the Take Ownership command but it still says I need Administrator permission. Should I try messing with the Permissions tab some more? Edit: When I got the the permissions tab in security It says Administrators only can view files, and the other options are grayed out so I can't change them.
  8. Alright thanks man, I'll check It out. BTW sorry for the broken English, I'm doing this off my phone and I didn't realize the aotucorrect got me until afterwards.
  9. Halo 5: Forge, that's why It caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting to deal with TrustedInstaller. And yeah I have myself ownership but when I got to change my permissions the option is grayed out.
  10. Hey guys I have another odd question here. I recently downloaded a windows application on my secondary drive and I tried moving the files place after downloading them and found out that they don't work unless I'm the original instal directory so I tried moving everything back to them find out I needed permission from Trusted installer to move it back. I've followed guides online to change owners but after I make myself owner It still says I need permission. This is driving me crazy, I can't even restore my PC because of all thing the very file I'm trying to restore stops the restore... If anyone has any experience with this please help, I've learned my lesson for my messing with files.
  11. I see, well after the update I reverted back and tried deleting the update to see if that brought back the space but it's still 12gb short but I'm assuming that's because it's still on my pc waiting to reinstall.
  12. Ah I see, well thanks for the reply man. I'm just hoping someone else on here has something similar so we could work together to fix it.
  13. Hey guys I just got the recent feature update force installed in my system and besides some driver issues I noticed that 12gb of space was unaccounted for after installation. I tried calling Microsoft support about it but they couldn't give me anything besides the update was only 5-6gb and that it MUST be bloatware even though I haven't installed anything. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Because I've tried using storage tools to find it will no success and now I'm beginning to consider reinstalling Windows.
  14. Alright thanks ☺, It just sort of had me spooked. I had a couple BSoDs that could have resulted in over stressing or RAM (which I'm also tuning) but I'm pretty sure I can rule them out as coincidental at this point.
  15. Hey guys I was tweaking my OC earlier and somehow I accidentally increased my NB voltage from 1.21v to 1.4v and ran the AMD overdrive stability test. I noticed within 30 seconds and changed it back. but I was wondering if it could have harmed it from the voltage spiking at boot? My specs are: AMD FX 8300 GTX 1050 Ti SC 8gb 1866 ddr3 RAM Asrock 970m pro3 2x 7200rpm HDD's in RAID 180mm Watercooler (Ik overkill)
  16. I'm a bit of a stability whore, I prefer butter smooth 30 or 45fps compared to a less stable 60fps.
  17. Hey guys I've been noticing this for awhile now, sometimes when I wake up my PC and go to play a random game. My FPS will unlock from it's 30 fps cap and go back up to 60. I can only fix it by restarting my PC and it's beginning to really piss me off. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried changing it back in Nvidia Control Panel or Nvidia Profile Inspector but with no luck. Any help would really be appreciated as I've given up hope on solving this... My system specs are: GTX 1050 ti SC AMD FX 8300 (3.9ghz) 8gb of DDR3 ram 2 HDD's in raid (0) (Sorry for any bad tags, as I don't know whats causing this issue.)
  18. I'd just gotten used to Ultra :'( well in that case sense it now seems to related to particles. Any settings I could lower that would reduce them without having too much of an effect on visuals? Edit: Or if i increased my CPU OC could that help? I know I can get more out of it, I just haven't had a reason to do it yet.
  19. I did install Beyond Skyrim: Bruma but it shouldn't have any effects inside the normal playable map. (at-least i think it wont)
  20. True It can work wonders, but my internet is crap. I'd prefer to keep that as a last resort.
  21. I tried the lowest setting and it appears to stop ;/ but It dosent make since to me how it's been smooth at max for so long until now. (Also I happened to notice it happens right as the dragon makes contact with the ground and throws particles in the air)
  22. I have 5 fans in my case and I checked the temps I don't think that's it, thanks for the thought though.
  23. Hey guys I've been playing Skyrim SE for a couple weeks now without any problems. But today when I was fighting an Elder Dragon, very time it would make a fast landing (just slam into the ground without flapping it's wings) I'd get a massive lag spike from 30fps (yes I know I suck) to 1 fps, and sometimes it would stay until I would alt-f4 out of the game. I've never had lag like this since I started playing. the most I've seen it drop was to 29fps. I've also fought numerous dragons before this one and never had this happen I've tried lowering my settings from ultra to high and nothing changed. i tired testing my OC stability and it seems to be fine. I've ran out of ideas so if anyone knows what's causing this your help would be greatly appreciated.
