  1. Looking for some folks to play Battlegrounds, Wild, Standard, or whatever with on Hearthstone. Add: rpcruab#1766 on Battlenet. Thanks!
  2. You folks helped me with my first build 7 years ago (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/rpcruab/saved/b8xcCJ) and although my first build has served me well, I've decided it's time to retire the setup and upgrade as the components are starting to age. Budget (including currency): $900 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Hopefully any currently available games and Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop Other details Already have Monitor / Windows / Peripherals. I am going to reuse my case so I will have to stick with Micro-ATX motherboards. The only must have for me is Wi-Fi on the mobo. I am open to any and all suggestions and am not set on AMD or any other component brand for that matter. Thanks! Here is my current faux-build: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($174.99 @ Walmart) Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($109.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($68.98 @ Amazon) Storage: Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($59.82 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB KO GAMING Video Card ($309.99 @ Walmart) Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply ($99.95 @ Amazon) Total: $878.71 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-09-29 10:38 EDT-0400
  3. If you were to list your choice for most dependable/durable brand, in a component specific list, what would your list look like? Example: PSU - Seasonic Storage - Samsung Motherboard - ASUS Etc... I would like to see what some seasoned opinions look like here, as it may play into a future build. Thanks!
  4. I've had the itch to upgrade for the last couple months. I am not very knowledgeable regarding component synergy and bottle necking, so I figured I would ask you folks. What's the weakest link? I have a feeling the graphics card should go first? Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks! CPU - Intel i7 4770k CPU cooler - Noctua UB9 SE2 GPU - EVGA GTX 760 superclocked w/ ACX cooler MOBO - ASUS Maximus VI Gene Memory - 16GB (2X8) Corsair Vengence LP 1600 SSD - Samsung 840 pro 128GB HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU - Corsair HX850
  5. I like the expression and pose. I think that it could use a better crop without the foot cut out of frame (nitpicking). Half of your shirt is completely blown out and void of detail, although "high key" "high contrast" works in some situations. Would be cool to see some detail in the sky, but that can be super tough on sunny days when your are trying to expose for the subject. I think this shot would rock if you outpowered the sun/sky with an off-camera flash/strobe lighting the subject (you?) Seems like you are shooting a lot, maybe check out http://strobist.blogspot.com/ for some simple off camera lighting ideas to have fun with. You can buy some cheap vivitar 285's and some cheap transmitter/recievers off ebay and have a BLAST with that crap. Sorry for the rant...I've been up for almost 48 hours.
  6. Not overthinking it. Just engaging in an acitve discussion regarding the technical aspects of a photo...of course, in the end, it's all subjective anyways. I notice you post a lot in this thread and appreciate your enthusiasm and activity. Figured I could throw some ideas your way...(not trying to sound smug, just discussing stuff.)
  7. Hmmm. It's tack sharp where it should be...the eyes. Are you referring to the shallow depth of field? Sometimes I will employ a large aperture to give photos a certain effect. Shooting a 200mm lens at f/2.8 will often give you an inch or so of focus at portrait distances, which helps to isolate the subject from the background, (specifically the eyes, which are the "windows to the soul" and all that mumbo jumbo.) I love the way it blows everything out beyond your plane of focus, giving the photo an "oil painting" effect past your focal point.
  8. A little grainy and the selective coloring isn't consistent. Parts of the sweater and scarf are still monochrome. Love chopping peoples heads off.
  9. I use ODD's to burn data for clients. Why is it suggested I remove it?
  10. 5/10 I'm not trying to be rude, just giving my personal opinion. Looks like a random snapshot. It's exposed well and whatnot...just doesn't do anything for me.
  11. Thanks! Pft... Thanks. I will have to rip into some cable management this week. No. Thanks. I'm running a conservative OC at the moment. Ran IntelBurnTest and Aida64 stress test a few times and it seemed to float in the 38c to 45c range, which is awesome, right?. Here is what it's OC'ed at for now:
  12. Finished my first build the other night and didn't break anything! Not the best looking rig, but it definitely fits my needs. Going to be used for editing and some gaming. I am planning on adding another 760 when/if the prices go down. The processor is running SUPER cool, even when stressed, which is a huge relief...(I thought it would be a bit hotter with the small noctua.) Anyways...super stoked and thought I would share. Parts: CPU - Intel i7 4770k CPU cooler - Noctua UB9 SE2 GPU - EVGA GTX 760 superclocked w/ ACX cooler MOBO - ASUS Maximus VI Gene Memory - 16GB (2X8) Corsair Vengence LP 1600 SSD - Samsung 840 pro 128GB HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU - Corsair HX850 ODD - The cheap ASUS one... Case - Corsair Obsidian 350D (window version)
  13. My god. Beautiful. Do you know what he was using to light the subjects? (bare/umbrella/softbox...?) That little girl in the lower right of the frame is freaking me out, lol.
  14. Sweet! Love the bokeh and tones. Nice focus and composition. 8/10 Canon T2 (not T2i) 35mm 70-200mm f/2.8 Ilford Delta 100 Professional 35mm film (expired) developed with Ilfosol-3 1+9 at 68° for 5 minutes
  15. Agreed. They never cease to amaze me with their innovations.
  16. Mt. Hood with a Canon Powershot ELPH (point and shoot).
  17. I like the black and white a bit better. Helps to negate the finger and greenery from the background. Still looking for more impact though. Bumping it up to 6/10, lol.
  18. Subjectively going with 5/10. Doesn't do much for me. If the subject in this shot is the flower, the finger definitely detracts from it. Background is also a bit busy.
  19. I would go with a prime if at all possible. You will reap the benifits of superior optical quality and sharper photos, in addition to being more resiliant to internal damage. On the super 16mm sensor, a 17mm lens would be similar to 50mm lens on a 35mm film camera in terms of focal length, (I beleive). I wouldn't really recommend most sub $250 wide zooms, or, most sub $250 primes for that matter, as altough they don't "fall apart", they won't satisify your needs in terms of optical quality. I would reccommend this lens if you can swing another $75. I know it's a little above your budget, but it would be a sharp, fast (f/2.5), little lens that would hold up well to use. Just a opinion of course, but hope it helps. BTW, what are you planning on shooting? Video, photo, landscape, people...?
