Hey guys...My first post here... decided to switch back to pc gaming from console... and i wanna build a good pc that will last me a few years...I haven't built a pc in over 15 years now...so its kind of all new to me again.
My main interest is games like GTA5/Assassin's Creed/Diablo III/etc... I have an old 24" LCD (1080p@60Hz) which I will be using for now...till I find the need to upgrade my monitor. Also want to use the PC for Solidworks, Photoshop/After Effects.
My current wishlist is http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q9mdXH ... I have already purchased a couple pieces but can exchange it if you think i can get better...
CPU = Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Will be buying this on eBay for $310.00. I am somewhat firm that I want an i7 processor.
CPU Cooler = Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Buying this from a friend for $60.00. I definitely wanna go AIO liquid cooling. Would've prefered a cooler with 280 radiator, but this one is cheap.
Motherboard = MSI Z170A GAMING M7 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Already purchased this from FRYS last weekend when they had it on special for $171.00 with $20.00 mail rebate...hence $151.00. What are your thoughts on this board? Can I get anything better at the same price?
Memory = G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
The MSI motherboard shows Memory Supported: DDR4 3600(*OC)/3200(*OC)/3000(*OC)/2800(*OC)/2600(*OC)/2400/2133. Will this G.Skill DDR4-3000 memory work? or should i get the DDR4-2400 (which is a lil bit cheaper). What does *OC mean?

Storage = Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Another item im look to purchase from eBay purchase. I will add a 7200rpm drive later if required, but most of my storage will be on my Synology NAS.
Case = NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case
This is one area I am totally undecided on. I dont care for looks or led lighting. I want efficiency. I want super silent fans. I want efficient cooling. And lastly, I want good cable management to reduce clutter. Will I need to add more fans? What brand fans do you recommend which are super silent and reliable.
Power Supply = EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Another area I am totally undecided on. I want a fully modular PSU, but unsure of the Wattage or brand. This was recommended by my friend.
Last and most important
=======================
Videocard = GTX 1070
I am dead set on getting a GTX 1070...just dont know what brand and model. What is the important thing to consider when buying this card. Core clock speed? Most of the cheaper versions are core clock in the 1500s. Is that ok? or should I look for better? Is there a big difference in high clock speeds enough to justify a 30-50 dollar price?
I am sure I will have more questions, but these are what come to mind now...Please advise.
