  1. Just bought that 460. DX11 and the GDDR5 seemed worth the extra $8 to me. Thanks. It also fit my budget, reaching 5 cents under $40 lol. Also got free shipping. Thanks for everyone's help! Love this forum.
  2. Gonna wait a little bit to see if anyone else wants to reply to this post and make any more suggestions. Found these videos: ( ) ( ) Looks promising for $32....
  3. Grabbed a 875W PSU from my friend's old Alienware Aurora R3 desktop. It doesn't even fit in the case I have now lol I had to modify it so it would fit. Leaning towards the GTX 280 right now for $32 on ebay and free shipping unless if anyone has any objections.
  4. How does a GTX 280 sound? It's got 1GB of VRAM but it only supports DX10. Do you think that'll do or should I go for something that supports DX11?
  5. A man can dream can't he? Whole purpose of this rig was to spend as little money as possible. GTX 275 looks to be promising; thanks for the recommendation. One going on ebay right now for $35 and free shipping. Might snag that one if I can figure out if it'll fit in the crappy micro atx case I got for $20. Looks pretty long. I looked at those too. They go for like $50 - $60 which is like the plane I don't want to cross in terms of paying for this PC. As you can see in my sig I do not need this computer in the slightest bit it's just that my completionist mindset is setting in and I fee like this PC is just missing one thing but I'm not trying to spend that much money.
  6. Sup guys. I need a cheap graphics card to run popular games like CS:GO, Minecraft, etc. at 1080p low settings. Not looking to do much with this PC but I just want to play games on it. Specs: Athlon X4 860k 8GB RAM Nvidia Quadro NVS 420 The specs seem weird because of the fact that this computer was basically assembled with spare parts. Needless to say, the graphics card, while capable of running 4 1600p monitors flawlessly, isn't capable of running games very well. I can barely break 10 fps in CS:GO on the lowest possible settings. Any suggestions for a cheap graphics card to buy? Preferably used not new. I really don't want to spend that much money on this computer since I pretty much built this with spare parts I got for free, only thing I paid for was a $20 case. I do not want this graphics card to exceed $40 so maybe something old. Thanks in advance.
  7. My mouse's sensor is failing and I really want to try the optical sensor on this mouse
  8. Check my keyboard out in my sig
  9. Yeah we did and it appears to be whatever is running. Whether it be Steam or Skype. No system tasks whatsoever like explorer.exe or winlogon.exe. We had trouble installing windows prior to installing GTA. We originally were going to use a R9 270X as the graphics card but the classic AMD driver issue happened and windows would not boot so we had a lot of abrupt shut down and prompts asking us to repair windows and such before we got the 750 Ti. Once we got the 750 Ti, we just installed its drivers and went from there. Maybe some windows files are damaged or something? There aren't any system tasks that are causing the high CPU usage. Might just have to reinstall windows and hope for the best.... Unless if you think it's necessary. Maybe just a fresh installation of Windows 7 is all I need.
  10. I have never gone with AMD in my entire life and most likely never will again (my specs are in the sig). Do you know if the 860k should be idling at 80% CPU usage? Because his CPU is idling at around 80 - 100% usage not doing anything. Even Minecraft maxes out the CPU. Is this normal?
  11. We did not do any overclocking. So I guess if the max temp of 71 degrees C is true then the issue is the underpowered processor.... I don't think the temperature of the processor is ever reaching upwards of 71 degrees C because all the third party programs say the CPU idles at like 80 degrees C.... So are we just out of luck? Are we just gonna have to go get an i5 or something? This sounds like an 8 core processor like an 8350 or i7 w/ hyperthreading is the way to go. Everything is turned off. The GPU is fine its the CPU intensive settings that are killing the FPS. So what are my options here? Get some 8 core processor? He's on the FM2+ socket and he has the best CPU that socket has to offer without the integrated GPU. Sounds like I need more cores for this game. I have never had this problem in any game. Usually the issue is the GPU not being powerful enough. I can't help but think there is something I can do to replicate the performance we see in that video. What settings are you on? Do you think that you'd benefit from an 8 core or a 6 core? If I do go down the route of getting a new processor, I need to know which one to get to guarantee better FPS than what we are getting now. Needs to be cheap. I have an 1155 motherboard sitting in my closet we can use that maybe.
  12. I'll look into the overheating issue tomorrow. Maybe the CPU is thermal throttling. After all, it is the stock heatsink
  13. Not windows safe mode. GTA has their own safe mode if the game is quit abruptly, which the game did not run well in
