Hey I think this would be the perfect lab test for Linus.

what is the actually needed radiator size to cool x amount of heat generated in watts?

This should be a relatively straightforward mathematical calculation that we can test for with known variables:
static pressure and airflow of the air going through the radiator.  ambient temperature of 22c and In house summer temperatures radiator thickness with same volume. Will a slim (1.18 liter volume) 420x140x20mm radiator with 19FPI(fins per inch) to a (1.18liter volume) 140x60mm radiator with 10FPI fin density heat plate to wattage/cm2 so we know the cold plate actually can transfer the heat.  liquid flow rate through the loop keeping it as simple as possible to prevent bottlenecks  100% copper vs 100% no copper system Why would we ever want to have a low delta T temperature? Aren’t we interested in what is the maximum amount of heat the radiator can transfer from the chip>water> air. Meaning the higher the water temperature is compared to the ambient the more efficient the heat transfer is.  we always talk about “rule of thumb” but what actuall basis does this actually have? Isn’t it completely made up out of the eather 20 years ago that some random dude said and just became dogmatic truth with zero evidence for it.

A common rule of thumb that has been passed around the online forums is that you should dedicate 120mm (or 140mm) of radiator space per component that is to be cooled, with an additional 120mm (or 140mm) of radiator space if you are going to be overclocking.  Or So a rule of thumb would be 180 watts per 120mm rad using 72cfm fans. that I can find as early as 2007.

the radiators below are all copper.
AcNex= Alphacool NexXxoS full copper radiators
    XSPC TX=XS-PC TX Ultrathin Radiator
HWlabs GTS=Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis GTS

    Some different fans as example.

people say it’s not an exact science, but how can that be the case? We know exactly how big the radiator for a car needs to be to maximize the heat it can handle without the engine overheating, we know exactly how big radiators for air conditioning need to be to move x amount of heat.

just take this video of Linus cooking an RTX 3090 doing apparently completely fine with 120mm radiator with 350 W TDP

So with the info from EKWB if the Power Dissipated for the let’s say the HWlabs GTS 140mm radiator with 10°C Coolant Delta (W/10C ΔT)is about 130W/10C ΔT at 1300RPM push only fan.

This would mean if the ambient temperature is 22c and the water loop is 10c warmer at 32c that
would that mean at double the delta T temperature Capacity W/20K

Power Dissipated for 10°C Coolant Delta (W/10K ΔT)
If we double the water temps to (W/20C ΔT) the cooling capacity would be about 260W/20C ΔT, meaning the temperature is above 40°C Coolant Delta (13 W/1C ΔT) and the water temperature is above 60c and everything should be well under the thermal limit as we saw in the video( unless the pump/plastics can’t handle 60c+).

practically entailing that everyone have an extremely oversized radiator compared to the maximum headload they need to handle, and might just sabotage their loops by having multiple radiator in series that makes it less efficient and obstructing the water.

and we can see that Hardware Labs uses a delta of 25c, about 1.8GPM and 65CPM per fan.

Or this apparent RTX4090 and 7950x3D using AlphaCool 140mm v2 radiator to cool everything
    https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/complete-s4max23-worlds-smallest-4090-build-brickless-5l-s4mini-4090fe-7950x3d-800w-water-cooled.18499/

that was also replicated earlier with the 3090
    https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/s4max-brickless-s4m-w-3090-fe-and-r9-5950x-800w-5l-water-cooled.11277/

we can read at EKWB description of radiator performance.
    https://www.ekwb.com/blog/radiators-part-2-performance/

and looking at the xtremerigs evaluation almost 10 years ago with 1850 RPM fans( don’t know the CFM/static pressure they get close to 500w cooling capacity with 360mm radiators

and we can also look at the 280mm radiator performance and the 140mm radiators
    performance down below

updated a computer at work, and amongst other changes, swapped the super shitty e-waste keyboard that flexed from a single finger touch, to a new mechanical keyboard.

Helping the user when he's back:
"Now I just need to find the Enter Key"

....  It's in the exact same place as the old keyboard.

    30 seconds later:
"Now where's the caps lock key"

....  again, it's in the /exact/ same place it was before.

(Yes, you should be crying for me here)

Huh, thought I already replied to this, here we go again I guess:

I'd stay away from these budget semi-auto shotguns in general. I'd be worried about anything that's convertible between 12ga and .308 unless its an upper receiver swap, but then they're going to have dramatically different buffer weights.

Semi-auto shotguns in general aren't that great. Even the absolute best ones (benelli and beretta's offerings, including some smaller companies that make some really good but are even more expensive than benelli's) will struggle to cycle some ammo.

TFB on Youtube has done a few burndowns of these Turkish imported shotguns and shown they'll struggle to last past a few hundred rounds total. Shotguns in general are dramatically lower pressure firearms compared to a rifle and they're not using rifled barrels, so they're pretty cheap to produce. In comparison, the US made Mossberg Maverick is a dramatically more practical shotgun.

Another variable being with magazine fed shotguns, you shouldn't keep the magazines loaded for extended periods. The walls of shotgun shells aren't that rigid and they'll compress/deform if left in a magazine which can cause feeding issues. Not really an issue with tube fed since structurally, they're better supported and the force vector is better handled by the cylindrical body.

If you're using it exclusively as a range toy, then I'd just go for a 22lr clone gun instead. Its cheaper to shoot and far less likely to destroy itself. You can also run into severe limitations depending on the ranges in your area with 12ga, some ranges don't let you shoot anything but birdshot. Something 22lr doesn't run into.

TLDR: Get a pump shotgun or spend a lot more to get a good magazine fed one. A pump will probably have a better 'firing rate' than a cheap Turkish imported semi-auto in most ammo, and won't kill itself over time.

Its trigger, magazine design, receiver/optics design, general inaccuracy with its barrel design having so much play/flex, NFA otherwise you get the ridiculous 16" version, not as compact as something like the PSA X57, ergonomics clearly design by committee. There's not much gain between something like 7-8", 10" and 16" with 5.7x28mm. Even the difference between a PSA Rock 57 threaded versus non threaded barrel is ~100fps with 40gr (seen a couple of separate tests showing that), so adding another 2-3" of barrel is even more, likely enough to give it maximum powder burn and an optimal dwell time.

In comparison you get a 'large format pistol' design with what's generally considered the best magazine location with how putting your hands together is just easier for humans than the latter. I wouldn't be surprised if NATO has some semblance of sanity with the PDW trials and rejected the MP7 because of the caliber, and the P90 because of its atrocious design. Though 5.7x28mm isn't much better than 4.6x30mm and is really only more popular in the US because of HK's failures to dip into the US market in many ways.

I've been under the opinion in general that the perfect PDW combo would be 5.7x28mm and the MP7's general design, being a pistol grip fed collapsing stock/brace PDW with the 7-8" barrel length. The PSA x57 model they show is super early and I've seen interviews saying that its got another 12 months or so of development, since the model they're showing is a 3D printed one without a LRBHO and safety, which they're working on. The fact that its parts compatible with the Rock 57 and uses standardized stuff like an AR-15 charging handle is absolute money.

Its a cool idea to think of using a 57 Rock pistol and this X57 PDW as a 'loadout', but TBH, its kind of redundant. I'm not sure what sidearm Seal Team 6 uses when they pull out their MP7s for a mission, but from what I have seen, its usually a tertiary firearm and not a primary/secondary, still, I wouldn't be surprised if they choose it for door busting exclusively because of the form factor. I have seen SEALs discuss 4.6x30mm though, where their rule is "one mag per target" 😄

Saw a comment on reddit that is highly relatable; "Stop, I can only get so hard."

I'd love to see someone make a 4.5mm to triangle brace adapter, I've ran this setup on my PSA AKV and its really annoying having two folding functions.

One of our departments had the need for workers who spend a lot of time outside to submit short reports directly from the field. Instead of first asking our IT department or anyone else about it if we already had something like that, they decided to do their own thing. So they sought out a survey platform, signed up for it and created the few forms they wanted to use. All well and good.

Unfortunately, they didn't consider how they'd evaluate the data. The built-in dashboard is horrendously unsuited for evaluating data. So I was asked to create a corresponding Excel file that could import that data and make it navigable and turn it into charts if needed. Here's the second roadblock: The CSV file the platform exports is abysmally designed and doesn't follow any discernible CSV convention I've seen to date. I've managed to create an import routine but it wasn't as easy as it should've been. Make note that at this point, once I was part of the project, I told them that I had my reservations about the usability of this tool but was struck down.

Then came the third strike. The survey had a few drop downs. And to make it visually more appealing, the guys who wrote the survey put in a few cosmetic entries like this:

    Entry 1
    Entry 2
    ----------
    Entry 3
    Entry 4

They didn't foresee that anyone would actually use the dash entries if they couldn't decide which other element to choose or if any of the other entries didn't apply. So you had a bunch of garbage data in there. But that's not even the worst of it. When they took out those dash entries, the results of the already recorded surveys changed retroactively. It's my assumptions that the tool doesn't actually save the text of whatever you choose from the drop down, but the numeric reference of which line the entry is on. I tried it by adding a new entry at the very top and sure enough, every completed survey had that question's answer shifted around.

At this point, since I already asked our IT department for a general survey platform a couple of times and was ignored every time, I just went ahead and created a dummy Google account to have access to Google drive and forms (don't worry, there's no mission critical data or even anything especially spicy in there, it's just "we went there at this date and time and saw X Y and Z"). I recreated the two forms in like 10 minutes, turned on the option to have the outputs directly written into a sheets file and made sure Google weren't dumb enough to only store line references from the drop downs instead of the actual text you choose. All that hassle to create a CSV import that makes the data pretty to look at and they could've had that for free, had they only asked and listened to what I said.

Probably not worth it, as it isn't really meant for 3D and overclocking doesn't change that. With 2 CU's it's mostly good for basic desktop use.
