  1. I'd second you about it being about overheating - if you use a dSLR to record video longer than a few minutes, you'll quickly start to see the image quality degrade; your video will start to look it's using higher and higher ISO settings as the amount of noise increases. I've never seen a camera that allows you to change the format of the memory card - certainly, my Nikon D7000 doesn't (although I'm aware that it's not a new camera, it's not that old). You may be able to format the card as exFAT rather than FAT32, and the camera may work with it - YMMV.
  2. and next time your "friend" wants to visit porn sites, tell "them" to use a new Incognito window instead
  3. You don't need the key. It's tied to your hardware. In the installation (if you decide to reinstall), when it asks you to enter a key (IIRC, it'll ask twice), just choose "Skip" and carry on with the installation. Once the installation is complete and your PC has a working Internet connection, Windows 10 will connect to the registration server, check your hardware ID and register automatically. There's nothing else to do: no need to remember where the activation keys are, no need to extract the key from your current install, nothing. Of course, if you do the in-place conversion, there's even less to worry about!
  4. No need to reinstall - you can do it without having to do that, as long as you have you have the small system partition at the start of the disk. More info here. I'd strongly suggest that you read through the article first - and make a backup of anything important you have on your SSD before starting. If it fails, you'll be back to reinstalling Windows - although I've done it a few times, and it's worked fine every time for me. Reinstalling or the in-place method won't touch the data on your HDD - unless you choose the wrong drive in the installer/diskpart. You could unplug it before starting just to be safe. If you do reinstall Windows 10, just skip the bits that ask for a key. Because you have 10 installed already, it'll activate automatically once the installation is complete.
  5. The only Blu-ray drive in the house is in my PC - I use it to rip the discs to MKV which then get stored on my unRAID server and I use Plex (media server on the unRAID box, player on Raspberry Pis or Chromecast) to play.
  6. It is possible to set OwnCloud up with SSL for security, but you'll need a proper certificate (rather than a self-signed certificate) to make sure it works properly.
  7. Nope, 720/120 is the only slow mo mode. Given that it's the same internals as the SJ5000X/SJ8000, I'd say that it's probably blended 120fps - although I can't find out for sure. I don't think you're going to get much else at this price point.
  8. Aren't Intel on 10nm? At least, I think they've just partnered with ARM and others to make more use of their 10nm fab? I'm surprised GloFo is going to 7nm - I thought there were problems which meant it wasn't going to happen for another 18 months...?
  9. Take a look at the ELE Explorer 4k - it does 4k okay-ish and 1080p really well, and it's only £43 from GearBest (from China, though - although you might be able to pick it up somewhere else a bit closer). IMHO, it does 1080p better than the Xiaomi Yi - comparison video here - and comes with a whole bunch of GoPro compatible mounts and bits.
  10. tbh if you're only doing basic stuff like oil, filter and brake changes then something like a Haynes is probably good enough. You only really need the workshop manual if you're doing more complicated stuff and need to know things like tightening torques for bolts and so on.
  11. Speaking as a foreigner, I thought that Obama wasn't able to do anything because he was a Democrat president with a Republican congress who blocked (or at least watered down to the point of uselessness) anything he tried to do. It's not that he was bad, it's that he wasn't allowed to be good. As far as Trump goes, you realise he's the laughing stock of the world, right? Who also appears to be very deep in the pockets of the Russians? If he got in, the US would become even more insular and inward-looking than it is at the moment. At least Clinton, while not the best candidate, would be more outward looking and at least wouldn't get other world leaders rolling their eyes every time she tried to speak. Rock and a hard place spring to mind: a candidate who has Republicans leaving the ship like rats, or a candidate that is economical with the truth but at least has some understanding of foreign policy.
  12. Are you thinking about cryptocurrencies like BitCoin? BitCoin mining is one use for your PC while you're at work, but the ROI isn't great and hacks of (and subsequent loss of currencies from) BitCoin exchanges have shown that their security is less than stellar (even worse when you factor in that they're effectively charging their customers for the hack as well...
