  1. In my opinion, there won't be much of a performance increment. I mean look at intel's line up, there hasn't been much increment over the past 1-2 generation. So just go with the i7 6600K. (Its the best single core performer in all processors, and I get it building a pc after such a long time, you want the best right? so this is the best right now.)
  2. Okay. Your system will run perfectly even with 700W(850W on your part list is way much). And i5-6600K is good but having i7 makes it easy for you to get a better gpu in future.(If you are not planning on changing your gpu for next 1-2 years, getting an i5 will save you a lot and you can get a M.2 storage). If you are planning to use your system for streaming and video editing, get i7. I guess there is no point in getting i5 if you already have the budget for i7.
  3. Have you consider building a mini-ITX system? It looks good and easier to carry around since you are planning on going to LAN events. Anyways your build is very nice nothing much to suggest, though I would say you already have a good psu. I would recommend keeping it.
  4. Yeah! that's what I said, and as for the price of the gpu, different places have different prices. $350 for 1060 and $410 for Rx480 in India.
  5. Currently I am using a Pentium Dual Core with only integrated graphics(Does have HP Envy 17 but that doesn't matter, you asked for a rig ) So what more reason do I need to upgrade my system. Also AMD does have the edge for DX12, so would be nice to have RX480. Good Luck Everyone.
  6. Well my friend time to join a team lol Just kidding, both cards performs well and both have their own reasons to buy, but in terms of efficiency and the in game application such as Ansel(if you are into capturing some best in-game moments) go for nvidia. Amd does feature cool tech but I personally like nvidia's more.(That's my personal preference)
  7. As for your requirement both cards are capable of giving constant 60+ fps at 1080P high/ultra settings. So all comes down to the price and personal preferences.
  8. Nowadays 1080P huh More like 720P . Anyways, Both RX480 and GTX1060 are capable of playing most modern games at a constant 60+fps on high/ultra settings at 1080P so you don't have to worry about 1080P gaming. It all comes down to the price of the gpus at your location and personal preference.
  9. From my suggestion: i5-6600K H170 Motherboard or Z170 Motherboard(Only if you are planning on overclocking) 16GB Ram 240GB SSD and 1TB HDD 750W PSU (Recommended Brand : Corsair or EVGA) Other Components such as case, monitor, mice and keyboard depends on your preference. I would suggest getting a 1440p monitor instead of dual monitor setup. For GPU: GTX 1060 or AMD RX480 The reason I am not suggesting an i7 is because its costly and the games that you are gonna play won't need that much processing power. I am not listing any brand names because of the pricing which I don't know since I live in India. So buy the components based on the specs I listed and you can decide which brand you want depending on the price and your budget. Also If you can stretch your budget and get a GTX 1070 that will be awesome because then you can sell your i5 in future and get an i7(also if you get Z170 mobo you will be able to overclock it too). Hope this helps.
  10. The socket is same but the chipset is C232. And the mobo is priced same as any H170/Z170. I think only Asrock has a mobo which supports all processors of 1151 and also able to overclock the xeon(not similar to i5/i7 but clock speed can be changed). Yes 20% is impressive but at a cost. And for 1080P(Not even Dual Monitors setup) you would barely even notice.(The only time you would notice a difference is when the fps counter is present, most people can't tell a difference in 50fps or 60fps not to mention at the refresh rate of 60-75hz) Your opinion is right but developers will always make their game optimize for the best performance.
  11. You know whats better then i7s, Xeons E3-1230 v5 is similar to i7 6600/6600K, also its cheaper. The main difference is that you cannot overclock it, and it doesn't come with an intel 510. But not all application will benefit from HT. Yes its good for productivity but most of my rendering/productive task will be done by the gpu so I wont benefit that much from HT processors. That's why I planned for i5 and not the e3-1230
  12. Hahah I guess Fx 4300 is the best build lol. And Yeah I am waiting for GTX 1060 too. I don't think i5 will bottleneck 1070(btw there is always bottleneck in a system). Most people will go for i5/1070 and i7/1080.
  13. Hello, I am planning on building a hybrid pc for gaming/productivity. I want you guys to help me with a build guide. Though I will be using this system for blender and unreal engine, for mobile game development and not for 3d animation movie or designing in any autodesk application (maybe will use Maya not sure ) so please don't suggest xeon and quadro/firepro. Since I live in India, the difference in pricing will be from min. $20 - max $150 depending on the component. I am planning for an i5 but the min. cost of i5-6600K in India is $270(found this price in the darkest corner of Indian Market ) and GTX 1070 costs $560(Same Place). Now the problem is I have a limited budget of $1300-$1400, and each component I buy here will cost $40-$50 avg. more compare to US pricing. Please Suggest a build and also answer these: Q1. Should I wait and get GTX 1060, save money and get more storage, swag stuffs? Q2. Get i5 6600 and pair it with B150 chipset mobo, save money here and there to get gtx 1070? Q3. Getting K processor pairing it with B150 or H170 is a good idea(probably not but still worth a try? also how much of a diff. is their in B150/H170/Z170 mobos) ? Other Info: Don't suggest FX processor because they are really old and FX8370 cost same as i5-6600K. Amd RX 480 is an option I can go for but hate to say any amd product in India is way overpriced($400, that's way intel/nvidia provide's good value). Xeon build can work but only if they are old gen. also there is no guarantee that I can get it in here or not. I don't want buy online and ship it to my country because of the damage risk, custom issues etc. Hope you guys come up with a build guide for me(sorry in advance if its a pain since the price difference is really weird ). Also does having more Cuda cores means better performance in rendering in blender/UE etc?
