Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just stick with the current setup for now.

Help with choosing a Motherboard

Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha offers 802.11ac, and it is GBP188 on amazon. I'm not sure about how much they tax in the UK. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/ntnG3C/asus-motherboard-rogmaximusviiiheroalpha Edit: I have no idea why it posted twice. -

I have thought about doing that, especially as it is the easiest thing to do, but my only concern is the fact that that is one of the only parts of the case with no filter. Would it make sense to have one fan on the radiator pushing air out, and the other one pulling in? So, the one near the back of the case is an intake that is being exhausted by the rear fan, and the one near the front is exhausting the front-top intake?
-
I'm curious what the most optimal airflow setup would be. I currently have it set up like so: Would moving the radiator to the front, with the fans switched to intake, while moving the two 140mm fans to the top bracket as intakes help me lower the temperatures? I'm not really that concerned about the CPU or GPU temperatures in particular. They are idling at 42 and 39 respectively. Under load, the CPU jumps to about 52-55, while the GPU just stays at 40ish. I'm more concerned about the VRMs which are sitting at 57-60 all the time. That seems safe, but is a wee bit unsettling. I feel like I currently have conflicting airflow around the CPU area.

Reccomened Quiet and Attractive gaming case
amish replied to adamsmith3424's topic in Power Supplies
be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 looks awesome. Would have bought it myself if it wasn't so expensive to ship to Singapore. -
The AMP Extreme comes with 2 Dual 6-pin to Single 8-pin adapters. Mine did.
-
Is it the AMP Edition or AMP Extreme? Only the extreme has dual 8pins, I think. Edit: Never mind, looked it up online. Both have dual 8-pin. Both also come with the adapter.

So, is the Dell U2311H good for use as a second monitor? I'm getting a used one for like $50, and would like to have a second monitor for productivity reasons, but I just blew all of my budget on the system I just built. So, is this a good model? Anandtech's review puts it as a good monitor against its competition at the time. Also, how should I check the condition of the panel, other than flashing a full screen Red, Green and Blue to check for any dead pixels?

Sonnet makes Thunderbolt 2 PCIe Expansion enclosures. They are bloody expensive for what they are, more so than the Core. My college uses them for Red Rockets. Not sure what graphics cards are supported though.

PCPartPicker part list: http://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/vNyj2R Price breakdown by merchant: http://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/vNyj2R/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (₹24325.00 @ Amazon India) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170-GAMING 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (₹11890.00 @ Amazon India) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (₹6100.00 @ Amazon India) Storage: A-Data Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (₹4799.00 @ Amazon India) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (₹3673.00 @ Amazon India) Case: Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case (₹6990.00 @ Amazon India) Total: ₹57777.00 Honestly, it is very similar to the build suggested by @HKZeroFive. Different case and a different Mobo. I would also second his comment about the SSD. Makes a lot of difference in the general speediness of the PC. Just go with any case that you like that fits within your budget and offers good airflow. I have the MasterCase 5 Pro, and while it is nice and has good airflow, it is quite large and heavy, if those are of any consideration to you.
-
As the title says, is this SSD reliable? It's retailing in Singapore for $279, which is $20 more than what my 500GB 850 Evo cost me a few months ago. Seems like something too good to be true. Especially considering the fact that every other 1TB class drive is at least $70 more expensive. Specs list a Phison S10 + Toshiba TLC Nand.

I get the noise with the CPU fans and Pump being the only thing running. I stopped my GPU and Case Fans. The PSU fan is also not running. The noise goes away when I turn the system off. It is either the Pump or the NF-F12s. Stopping them with my hand gets rid of some but not all of the noise. I get the feeling that it might be the pump itself. I guess the fans quietened down to the point where I can hear it. Is it a good idea for me to go and reduce the Pump "rpm" to below max? The default for the Water Pump seems to be 100% on all the preset profiles.

Don't get me wrong, they are quieter than the fans Cooler Master bundled with the AIO, but I guess I was just hoping for something better than minimal gains for the investment, given the gushing about the noise levels and performance. Thanks for the info though. I'm still unsure if a change in the configuration would help though. Push seems to be the "recommended" way of setting them up, if people are to be believed.
