  1. Yay another news topic about something that isn't really going to have much of an effect on the vast majority of internet users but can easily be interpreted as giving the internet to Russia!

mrw i hear that don_svelito was banned

  3. We've been over this. This isn't handing control of the internet over to any foreign body. This is transferring control of the distribution of domain names to an international body. Ted Cruz is just doing this to bring up some issue that most people don't understand so he can resist the budget. If his fellow senators did any ounce of research the'd understand how ridiculous what he's saying is and shoot him down. He needs to get his head out of his ass and think like a sensible elected official.
  4. unfortunately this is completely within youtube's rights as a private company. they are in complete control over what goes on in their site, regardless of what exerting that control means. It sucks and I'm not in support of this, but this is something that they are totally allowed to do. The only thing that could cause some change is a large enough public outcry/backlash that could cause a pr issue for YT. Hopefully that doesn't need to happen for them to fix this.

Uhm... Oh, it must be one of those heatpipeless…

asus is actually well know for how good their cooling is... just not in this particular product
  6. Well considering that its also influenced by a bunch of other nations who aren't the US, it might change something. And by change i mean prevent the US from exerting control in the future by doing some weird shit to naming i guess. The ICANN doesnt cater to anyone's interest other than that of the people it's selling domains to. It's only function is to control what domain names are assigned to what IP addresses, not the entire internet. If you are so concerned about China having a different opinion than us over a fucking domain name than fine, but you need to step back and see what is really happening here.

  8. Yeah, that's what i was thinking would happen. For many companies though, their .com site is only their US one, not their international one. (Ex: Most American Auto/Tech companies) China would be fine with it so long as they get to control what aspects of the newly decentralized internet their citizens can access, which shouldn't be hard for them to do.
  9. I think you guys fail to realize what is actually taking place here. The internet itself is not being moved to any one place. The control over domain names and "interpretation of numerical addresses" is moving from US control to international control. The only change we might actually see is that US companies may be forced to use .co.us rather than .com. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT RUSSIA AND CHINA ARE NOW IN CONTROL OF THE INTERNET.
  10. Those nations only have veto powers in the security council, not in every single committee. The general workings of the internet will not be debated or moderated by the security council as that isnt what the security council does. Those matters will be controlled by the new body (ICANN) which is in no way tied to the security council. It is a separate body that is not controlled by any single nation.
  11. As @dalekphalm mentioned, this does not hand control over to another nation but instead a non-national body. China and Russia wont have control, but neither will the US, and given the current trends in copyright law and the existence of the NSA is a very good thing.
  12. You misunderstand how the UN works. The UN is set up so one country doesn't have all the power and every one has a say. It isnt any easier for Russia to take control than when it was in the US.
  13. That's not at all what's happening here. The internet is something that doesn't and shouldn't belong to one country. (think about what would happen if a country like russia was in control of it) Giving control over to the UN, which also doesnt belong to one single country, is the best thing for it.
  14. Good thing I have an 808 in my phone. Imo this isnt Google playing apple, but them instead making a bigger deal out of security. If your device cant be secured, it wont get the OS. Seems fine to me.
  15. So a chip that has yet to be released is as fast as a mid tier chip from 3 years ago? Wow that's so impressive!
  16. The issue with that load of bass is the muddiness it can produce. Most good "fun" headphones have bass yes, but they also have good mids/highs that wont get covered up by the bass. DT990s are a decent example of this.
  17. The thing is though, having flat/neutral headphones is important in sound quality. Having the massive bass spike that the m100s have results in a muddier bass that covers up the mids and especially the highs. Also there are plenty of headphones that are tougher than V-Modas. I recommend trying headphones like the Sennhieser HD600s, Brianwavz HM5, HifiMan HE400s, and Philips Fidielio X2 to see what I mean.
  18. They are very unbalanced headphones w/ a huge spike in the bass and massive drop off in the highs. You can get flatter and better headphones for the money.
  19. hopefully this will result in vmoda actually making a decent set of cans
  20. I hope this means that they realize that win10 on phones isnt going to be a thing and stop pushing out shit lumia devices. Time for them to focus on the laptop/tablet experience more.
  21. yeah it didnt. but his definitely running hotter and could die from heat.
